ch 35

He barged into the bathroom; he was worried about Sara All the nightmares flashed back in that one second. He was so scared she was gone. She was unconscious next to the bathtub. There was a cut on her forehead.

"Sara" He ran over to her pulling her into his lap and checking for a pulse.

She moaned softly.

"Why didn't you let me help you Honey?" He whispered softly

"Griss?" she asked groggily.

"Yes honey." He stroked her cheek

"Wha.... What happened?" Sara looked around her.

He kissed the cut on her forehead gently “At a guess you lost your balance and hit your head."

"Stupid leg gave out on me..." Sara grumbled.

"Honey it is ok, let me help you. I owe you that much."

Sara kissed Grissom's cheek. "Griss?" How is he gonna take this? Is he ready for this?

"What."

Here goes. "How would you feel about having a wedding with only our crew in attendance?"

"If that's what you want, Sara. That's what you’ll get." He kissed her back and smiled.

"Well part of me does and part of me doesn't." He took that better than I expected.

"What do you mean by that?"

"There's that temptation to keep you all to myself," Sara said, grinning impishly.

He smiled. "Really?"

"Really."

Sara stroked his face with her thumb. "But we don’t have to talk about it right now."

"Its ok, if you want to. I don't mind."

Sara held on to him, smiling a little wryly. "Would you mind helping me back to the living room please?"

He picked her up and carried her back to the living room. "Here you go my dear. Anything else I can do for you?"

"Pass me the remote?" Then Sara gave him her best doe eyed look. "And some tea?"

"Anything else?" He asked handing her the remote and getting up.

"Just you. Although I should probably warn you I'll more than likely get the munchies again later on."

He giggled. "Really?" He plugged the kettle in for some tea.

What is getting into him, I make him so different, and he has fewer inhibitions.

Sara gave him a dazzling smile and flipped on the TV. When the kettle boiled he made her tea and passed it to her.

"So...anything you want to watch? I think I saw something on the Discovery channel about butterflies."

"That sounds good." He said leaning back on the couch.

Sara gave him the remote as she leaned against the couch and sipped on her tea. "You'll explain this to me if they get too technical, right, Grissom?"

"Sure honey, if it comes to that." He leaned in and kissed her forehead.

"Is it alright if I lean against you?"

He held his arms out and smiled. "Sure." I am really liking this.

Sara returned his smile before making herself comfortable in Grissom's arms.

He wrapped his arms around her savouring the feeling. He caressed her hair as they watched TV

"I could get used to this."

"And so you should." He kissed her forehead.

"I've always marvelled at how delicate their wings are," Sara commented as she watched the screen.

"They are beautiful, but pale in comparison to you."

"Flatterer."

"I try." He coyly stated it was followed by a grin.

Sara wrinkled her nose at him again.

"You also have your moments where you're incorrigible, Doc."

"I know. But you make me do it."

"Sure, Doc. Blame me," Sara murmured as she reached up to gently kiss his earlobe.

"Someone's gotta take the fall." He snuggled her in tight to his chest.

Mrs Sara Grissom...hm, I think I like that

He leaned in to whisper in her ear. "What are you thinking about?"

"This and that," Sara said not sure if he wanted to hear "Giddy girlish thoughts"

"Oh, ok." He clammed up.

"I was thinking about what it might be like to be married," Sara elaborated after a second thought.

"Oh really? How so?"

Sara's cheeks turned a little red. "I was trying to decide if I'd rather take your name or keep mine."

"Oh, I see. And what have you decided?"

Sara leaned in to kiss him. "I want to be Mrs. Grissom. I have since you lied to the doctor and even before that."

"I'm glad." He smiled. "But if you wanted to keep your name I would understand that too." He kissed her back.

What am I going to do with you?

"I don't want to push you."

"Trust me, Griss, you're not."

"Good. That's all that matters right now."

Sara suddenly felt ill again for the third time that day. She managed to jump off of Grissom and barely make it to the bathroom before being sick.

He got worried and ran to the door of the bathroom. "Sara Honey. Are you ok?" The sound of Sara being sick greeted him. "Sara, can I come in?" He asked to the closed door. Sara was bent over the toilet, holding her hair back. She was oblivious to Grissom. Not getting an answer he opened the door. He took her hair to hold it for her. "Are you alright?" He cooed to her.

Sara waited until her stomach stopped heaving before asking, "Could you get me a glass of water, please?"

He rushed to the kitchen and returned with in seconds. He passed it to her.

Sara swished her mouth out before leaning against the wall. "Baby, I need you to do me one more favour, but I need you to also promise me you won't be upset."

He was confused. "Alright. What is it?"
