CHAPTER 31
Days passed. Grissom felt worse instead of better. He wouldn’t convey that to Sara but Sara could see it. He slept and moped, that was all he had the energy for. It was certainly not the usual workaholic Grissom.
“Gil, sweetie will you please get up? It’s time to go to work.”
He didn’t move.
“Mom what’s wrong with dad?” Amy asked.
Sara shook him hard. “Gil.”
He only mumbled. He had been doing this a lot lately. He had not gotten up with Sam since the accident.
Sara was worn out, tired and cranky. She had been doing triple duty. She had to look after Sam, look after Grissom and try to rest herself. It was taking its toll on her.
“Sara. Will you call work for me and tell them I am not up to coming in yet.”
“Gil, how do you feel?”
“Fine, really.”
“Gil.” Her tone was coarse.
“I feel worse.”
“I am calling the Doc Robbins; maybe he can talk some sense into you.”
“Sara, it’s only the flu.”
“I will feel better if we get it checked out. Please humour your pregnant wife.”
“Alright, you win.”
“I’ll be right back.”
Sara got up and went to call Doc Robbins.
“Doc, its Sara. Gil is a bit sick, he has been for a few days would you mind coming over and checking him out, he won’t go to the doctor.”
Sara paced while he talked.
“Ok, great Doc, see you in a few.”
Sara rejoined Grissom. “Doc is coming over.”
“Thanks mom.” Amy squealed. You don’t know how much this means to me.”
I do more than you know. Please let him be ok.
