“Like a tree trunk, you should have knots, ways to branch out and influence others. John’s one example of that, but it’s not just having children. You’ll affect so many others in all your lifetimes; but because of Ianto’s death, that didn’t happen. That’s where you went wrong.
“His death was so great that you never accept another. You become so fearful of loving that you stop loving. Without him, you never touch others, and you never branch out.”
