Their mission was completed with relative ease and they arrived back on
Babylon 5 safely. Marcus Cole, certain of his imminent death, hastily
departed the docking bay before Susan could speak to him.

Back in her quarters, she played a certain music crystal. While she
mostly enjoyed 20th century jazz, a fast talking salesman in the Zocalo had talked her into what they called a 'pop band.' Right now there was one song that stuck with her. It seemed to fit this moment and her mood. She popped the crystal in and sat back to listen as REO Speedwagon spoke to her soul.

'I can't fight this feeling any longer
and yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show,

I tell myself that I can't hold out forevI saI say there is no reason for my fears
Cause I feel so secure when we're together
You give my life direction
You make everything so clear.'

She thought this and then began to dress for the 'occasion'.

'And even as I wander
I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window
On a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever
Thought I might..'

Susan took a last look at herself in the mirror. Her freshly washed
hair hung in ringlets which framed her face. She wore a simple white
"poet's blouse" laced loosely enough to slide, revealing her lovely neck and shoulders.
A long full brown skirt, and soft brown suede boots completed the outfit.
she laughed, but was pleased with the effect.

As she nervously paused outside his door, the chorus to that song
sprang to mind.

'And I cant fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
Its time I pulled this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever.'

She rang the door chime and announced "Its Susan." The door opened and
she entered his quarters with her customary long strides. Positioning
herself in front of the startled Ranger she looked him straight in the ane and spoke.
"I hope you don't have any plans for tonight Marcus. If you do,
cancel them. Now."

He shook his head and said, "No, no plans. Why?"
He was terribly confused at that moment. This was NOT the Commander
Ivanova he was used to. This was Susan. Totally different than he had ever known her to be. Dressed incredibly. Beautiful, soft and very feminine. He somehow felt she was NOT there to chastise him for staring at her earlier.

"Glad to hear you're free Ranger, because we need to talk. And then we
are going out to dinner, which YOU are paying for. And then..."

Stunned he said, "And then?"

She stepped even closer to him so that only their clothing separated
them.

"And then we go back to my quarters." He did a double take.

"If you're planning on killing me, I think YOU ought to at least pay for dinner." Susan was making him very nervous and obviously enjoying it. He was of course hopeful of something more, but too unsure to know.

"Oh, you won't die Marcus. She rested her hands on his chest, "But I
think you are definitely gonna need to sleep in tomorrow."

Susan smiled a very wicked smile at Marcus who, once he finally caught
on, looked like a man who had discovered buried treasure.
