THREE

CHAPTER THREE

Sam sat down at the table, pulled out his laptop and began googling the address. He wasn't sure what he expected to find, but a photographer's studio was the last thing he imagined. He delved deeper. There were no unusual deaths or missing people, nothing that flagged it as a possible demon lair, they'd definitely need to scope the place out.

"What can I get you boys?" a middle-aged waitress with a gruff exterior asked.

"Burger, pie and coffee," Dean chirped.

Sam looked up from his screen, "Two coffees and a special," he said, glancing at the menu.

The waitress yelled their order through to the burly chef who was stooped over the hot stove, sweating profusely. She wrote the bill out, tore it from her pad and placed it on the table, before moving on to the next customer. "What can I get you?" they heard her ask again. Before long they were tucking in to their food and slurping at the coffees.

Dean surveyed Sam, his mouth full of pie. "So, what's there?" he asked.

"Nothing, there's a photographer's, but it seems ordinary," he chewed out at him.

Dean finished the last piece of pie, peered across the table and seeing Sam still had quite a bit to eat, stood up and headed out to the parking lot. The sun had begun to set, and the parking lot was virtually empty. Only one other car, a beat up chevy, was parked there. He paced back and forth "Castiel!" he opened one eye at a time.

Casteil stood behind him. "What is it? I'm busy." He avoided looking him in the eyes.

"Cass," he wanted to ask about the warehouse, but the look of guilt and shame on his face stopped him. He held his hand out to place on Castiel's shoulder, trying to comfort him, "It's alright."

Castiel looked up, his face pained. Dean couldn't help himself, he walked closer and hugged him. Giving in to the embrace, Castiel let the  warmth and love coming from Dean wash over him. "Thank you," he managed to get out in a strained voice.

As Sam left the cafe and made his way over, Dean let him go and stepped back.

Sam raised an eyebrow, "What do you know about a photographer's studio in the industrial park?" he asked.

Castiel looked at Sam, "Nothing." He pondered for a moment before adding, "The siren is a man."

Shock flitted across Dean's face. "I thought sirens were female?"

"Apparently, this is a new species cooked up by Eve," Castiel replied.

"So that's why Castiel was caught like that," Dean thought. How could he have known? A demon designed to seduce even the angels. Had such a creature ever existed before? He would have to check with Bobby at some point, though obviously without letting him know the true reason behind the inquiry. Castiel gave the boys one last glance before vanishing.

As Sam placed his hand on the door handle, Dean slid in and started the car. They drove in silence as the night crept in. Wearily, Sam closed his eyes and fell asleep as Dean stared into the distance trying to imagine the creature that had seduced, so easily, his angelic friend. Entering the industrial park, he nudged Sam, "Hey, we're here."

Sam yawned and opened his eyes as Dean drew up to the side of the warehouse, turned off the engine and got out. Pulling out his torch, Dean shook it, tapped it on the side and switched it on. Sam got out the car and immediately began scoping the perimeter of the building for security. Finding none, he headed for the front door, pulled out his lock picker and inserted it into the keyhole. A moment later the door clicked open. Sam stepped into the darkness, pulled out his torch and looked around. Silently Dean crept in behind him and closed the door.
