Boo!
It had been a couple days since the incident at the maternity store and Mara had moved on in life. She dropped all hope of swindling whatever money Bubby had hidden. It was late at night and her mother had fallen asleep after downing a cocktail of pills. Nothing, not even one of California's famous earthquakes, could wake her.
She sat on the old couch with a lit cigarette between her fingers and a stale can of coke in the other. She wasn't drinking from it. It was just something to hold. The light from the television flickered across her tired face as she took a drag from her cigarette and ashed it into the coke. There wasn't a lot to do at 2:00am.
She turned her attention towards the door when a loud knock echoed through out the house.
"Shit, shit, shit." She desperately muttered as she scrambled for the front door. "Damn, damn."
As quietly as possible she opened the front door to nothing. A puzzled look on her face turned to horror when Guillermo jumped from somewhere only to yell "Boo!"
Shutting the door harder than she meant to Mara sucked in heavy breathes.
"Hey, let me in." He said coupled with a few obnoxious knocks at the door. "I was only kidding, Chiquita."
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Mara asked as she opened it for him. "How the hell did you find me?"
"You'd be surprised." He said entering at his own free will. "Nice house."
"Stop being so loud, goddamn."
"Why? Afraid I'll wake your parents up?" He joked as he took a seat on the tan couch. Guillermo eyed the cigarette and Mara took notice grabbing it and tossing the white stick in the coke can.
"I don't usually smoke.." She trailed off taking a seat beside him. "Hold on." She got up once more to shut her mother's bedroom door. Mara knew the woman wasn't going to wake up but she was paranoid of her randomly waking only to smell cigarette smoke and lay her eyes on the Mexican man sitting on the living room couch.
"You got a nice ass." He said throwing a pillow at Mara as she entered from the hallway.
The 20 year old swatted the pillow away. "Shut up. Stop throwing shit."
It was awkward sitting next to him with nothing to say. They watched the newswoman blabber about Mexican drug cartels and suspected corruption. It was boring and led Guillermo to pull out a joint.
"You got a light?" He asked as his fingers snaked into her jean pocket rooting around for her lighter. Mara didn't know if he was genuinely looking for a lighter or just trying to get a good feel of her ass so she pulled his hand away.
"Yeah." She reached over to grab the green lighter off the coffee table. "Here."
"Oh, my bad." He lit it up and took a puff handing it out to her. "You wanna hit?"
"Uhm.."
"You look like you need it."
"I don't know anything about pot." She refused.
"There's nothing to know."
Mara hesitated and gently reached out for it. "So I just.." She took two hits and gave it back to him. "Holy shit." Mara coughed.
They passed it around and eventually discarded it into the coke can. Guillermo was talking about how long it would take for her to feel anything. The news was a little more interesting but other then her newly found friend's slurred talking there wasn't much going on. Mara was still bored.
Mara thought about how long she had been sitting there watching television. It felt like hours had gone by in the blink of an eye.
"What time is it?"
"2:20."
"AM?"
"Yeah.."
Mara rested her head in his lap as she watched the newswoman talk about the rising obesity rate in America. And the pair began talking about nothing in particular.
"The most ignorant people.." Mara began in a drunken tone. "In the world are those who just go blindly through the world.. following whatever happens to come along their way.. no thinking.."
"What?" Guillermo asked watching her every move.
"Are you one of those people?"
Before he could answer, his cell phone rang. "Hello?"
"Again with the Spanish.." Mara muttered. "Why can't he pay attention to me?"
She took a leap of faith when she sat up and cuddled up next to him. Her mouth bit and kissed at his neck. Guillermo smiled when her hand undid his jean's button and made it's way around his hardening member. Mara moved up and down him with a slow pace at first. Wanting some sort of reaction out of him.
Guillermo couldn't deny the sweet, sweet touch of her jacking him off. He wanted to hang up and fuck her against the wall until she moaned his name over and over. But it was an important call he couldn't ignore.
Mara bit harder and harder even breaking the skin at one point. Making little red marks with her teeth and periodically running her hand under his shirt. Mara wanted him.
He finally gave her some sign that he was enjoying it when he bit his lip and bucked his hips into her touch.
"No, no, I'm listening." He barely mumbled into the phone.
She slowed her hand down to an excruciatingly slow pace and gave the softest little moan in his ear. Mara unzipped his jeans and freed the object of her loving interest. A blowjob crossed her mind but it completely left it when the conversation finally ended and he came in thick white globs over her hand.
A sudden feeling of wanting to sleep for nineteen hours rushed all of Mara's senses.
He cupped his hands around her face and gave her a rough kiss. Cleaning himself off with a blanket resting over the armrest he laid a trail of kisses down her neck.
Guillermo tucked himself away and zipped back up his pants. "I have to go."
"Okay.." Mara sprawled out on the other side of the couch face down.
"I'll see you soon." He said leaning down to kiss the back of her head and give her a light pat on the ass.
He turned the television off. "Stop watching the news." He commented to the exhausted Mara before finally leaving.
"Bye." She said to the empty living room. Soon after falling asleep thinking about all those people in the world who go along without thinking.
