Chapter Three
"Yes. I'm coming home for good. I've decided that I'm not going to let Claudia and Diego keep me away from my home any longer. I missed you and my mother. I don't want to live in fear of them so I'm not. If something happens to me then Riley will be taken care of. If for some reason you didn't want custody of Riley then my mother would get custody of her."
Lucky asked Sam, "What if I told you that I want us to try to be together again?" Sam smiled and then said, "I'd like that Lucky. But are you sure that you want this? After what I did I'm surprised that you're being so understanding." Lucky turned Sam to face him. "I love you, Sam. I was so worried about you while you were gone. I never heard from you so I never knew if you were dead or alive. I know that you called Alexis once to tell her that you were okay but that's it."
Sam got up and then asked Lucky if he would like to spend the day with them. Lucky nodded and said, "Sure. Will Alexis be joining us? Sam smiled and then nodded. "When she gets back from the store I'm sure that she would like to join us in whatever we do." Sam handed Riley to Lucky. "Will you watch her while I take a quick shower?"
Lucky nodded and then said, "Sure. No problem. Riley and I will be just fine. Go and take your shower." Sam kissed Lucky on the cheek and then she went to shower. Thirty minutes later she finished dressing and drying her hair. She went to check on Lucky and Riley. Sam smiled at the sight that greeted her. Lucky was lying down on the couch asleep, Riley asleep on his chest. Sam had to have a picture of this moment.
She walked over to the closet where her mother kept her camera. Sam quickly picked it up and then she walked back over to where Lucky and Riley were and took a picture of father and daughter. Then she put the camera away once more and went to wake Lucky up. Right as Sam was about to wake Lucky up, Alexis was speaking as she walked into the house.
"I know that you don't want everyone knowing your business and they won't. But I really think that you should tell Lucky-" Alexis cut herself off when she walked into the living room to see Lucky sitting up and handing Riley over to Sam. "Lucky!" Alexis said surprised. "What are you doing here?" A moment later she realized that it was Saturday and she said, "Oh."
Sam could tell that her mother was having a million thoughts per minute and that she had a lot of questions to ask. Deciding to answer all of her mothers questions at once, she said, "I told Lucky about Riley and he wants us to try and be together again." Alexis nodded and then said, "That's wonderful. Is our deal from earlier still good?" Sam nodded and she handed Riley to her mother.
Then she motioned for Lucky to help. "Come on, Lucky. Come help me bring in the rest of the groceries." Lucky nodded and then he got up and followed Sam outside. As they were bringing all of the groceries inside, Lucky asked, "Does Alexis know about this problem with Claudia and Diego?" Sam shook her head. "No, she doesn't. I want it to stay that way."
Lucky didn't reply. He just followed Sam back inside and then asked where things went as they started to put everything away. After putting some of the groceries away they went back to the car and got the last of them. Sam closed the trunk and locked the car before the two of them went back into the house. They put the last few groceries away and then they sat down with Alexis who they knew had questions.
"The first thing I want to ask is if this changes anything for today?" Sam shook her head. "Not really. The only thing that is really changing is that if you don't mind, Lucky will be spending the day with us. Maybe he can even ask Elizabeth if he can have Cameron for the day." Alexis nodded and then she asked Lucky if he really wanted to spend the day with two women and a baby.
Lucky said, "I'd definitely like to spend the day with you three lovely ladies. If you'll excuse me for a moment, I'm going to call Elizabeth and see if I can get Cameron for the day." Alexis and Sam nodded and they watched as Lucky went into the living room to make his call. Turning to her mother Sam said, "I hope that Elizabeth says that it’s okay. I'd like for Cameron to get to know his sister and I know that Lucky wants that as well."
Alexis shrugged and said, "You can't tell Elizabeth what to say and do. If she says that Cameron can come with us then that's great. He'll get to know his little sister. If not, then he will eventually get to spend some time with her. So don't worry about it. If it's meant to happen then it will." Alexis hugged her daughter. A few minutes later, Lucky re-joined them in the kitchen.
"Elizabeth said okay. I told her that I was spending the day with Alexis and a friend and she said it was fine. We can go and pick Cameron up and then all of us can go to the park." Sam nodded and said, "That's a good idea. Cameron can play on the playground and the rest of us can get some fresh air." Sam couldn't wait to see how Cameron was going to react at finding out that he had a sister.
They all got into Lucky's car and before long they were on their way to meet Cameron. They were meeting Elizabeth at the park. When they got there, all of them exited the car. Sam took Riley into her arms. She walked over to a park bench and she and Alexis sat down. Lucky crossed to the other side of the park where Elizabeth, Jason, Cameron, and Jake were sitting playing.
When Sam looked up from talking to her mother, she saw Jason and Elizabeth talking to Lucky before looking at her. Sam turned her eyes away from them. Sam couldn't stand Elizabeth. The woman always acted as if she never did anything wrong and it drove Sam insane. A few minutes later Lucky was walking back toward them with Cameron in tow but Sam wasn't paying attention to them at the moment.
She was busy watching Jason and Elizabeth playing with Jake for a moment before they shared a kiss. Sam flinched at seeing her ex and her worst enemy sharing a kiss. Sam shook her head to clear the image away and she smiled when Cameron said “Hi.” "Hi Cameron, do you want to play a game?"
