Jan's Discovery
Chapter Two : Jan's Discovery
Jan Oramu had just met Clark, and he sure as hell didn't want to stay at the hospital anymore. So he nodded. "Thank you, Clark, and Chloe." Jan said, smiling, but that smile had been wiped off his face in mere seconds, if not nanoseconds. "Uhm... could you get some clothes for me? Since that girl stole them..."
Clark nodded. "I'll get some for you. Chloe, could you stay with him?" Chloe was asked, right in front of Jan. "Sure, Clark." Chloe said, sitting next to Jan on the hospital bed.
She knew her boyfriend was going to be quick with the clothes. She looked at her longtime friend. "Jan, how are you feeling? Can I get you some water?" Chloe asked.
Jan smiled at her. "Thank you, Chloe. I'm glad to have found you so soon, even though I would have preferred meeting outside a hospital." Jan said to her, sitting up and looking into her eyes. Chloe's eyes widened a bit. "You've been looking for me, why?" She asked.
She was afraid there was going to be a love confession next. You've always been a sweet guy, but I love Clark... She thought, ready to use that answer if he would indeed come with a confession like that.
Jan chuckled, having seen her wide eyes. "Don't worry, you're a hot woman, Lil' Chlo," Jan said, using her nickname from childhood, "but I am not in love with you. No, I got fired from the Star City newspaper a couple of weeks ago, and since I heard that you're now working at the Daily Planet, I was hoping to apply for a job there." Jan explained to her as he wrapped his arms around her. "It's good to see you again." Chloe's old friend said. Chloe hugged him back. "I'll see what I can do." Chloe said, forgetting the fact that her boss was Lex Luthor, the one who had shown her Jan's dead body. If it hadn't been for him, Jan would have stayed dead... also not remembering that it had been Lex Luthor who had seen Jan's dead body on the picture, so he would definitely ask questions if Chloe suddenly asked for a 'dead man but now resurrected man' to get a job at a place like the Daily Planet.
Clark, meanwhile had supersped back towards the farm and quickly scooped up a couple of his clothes. He grinned sheepishly, all he had was the trademark Clark Kent wear. He hoped Jan wouldn't mind.
He was about to superspeed back when a figure hovered to the ground. Kara Zor-El had heard her cousin enter the house, and decided to wait until he got outside again to make her presence known.
"Hey, cousin." Kara said with an evil grin. Clark's head whipped toward the voice, it couldn't be... yet it was true. "Kara... you're back!" Clark said and got closer to her to hug her, but she slammed his hand away and threw him on the ground. She got on top of him and held him in fierce-like grip. She laughed evilly. "Where were you when that man brought me to the hospital, huh? He was so asking for it, hmmm, when I think back to that experience and what I did to him...." Kara said, trailing her hand between her thighs.
Clark couldn't believe his cousin to be so... sexy? "Kara, this isn't you. What did Brainiac do to you?" Kara only continued to pin him down to the ground in that fierce-like grip.
Her eyes turned red, almost as if she were under the influence of Red Kryptonite, which she wasn't. "He and someone else have shown me ways to bring down this worthless planet." When Kara said that, Clark got enraged and managed to pin Kara down on the ground.
"I promise to get you back to normal, Kara Kent." Clark says as he doesn't want to hurt his cousin, but this behavior from his cousin doesn't leave him a choice. Kara grins as she kicks Clark hard in the groin. "KARA KENT IS DEAD!" She yells at him as she gets up from the ground, watching Clark in pain and loving it. "The sweet little innocent Kara is gone forever, there is only Kara Zor-El, deal with it!" Kara says as he applies pressure to choke Clark, increasing pain. Another evil grin on her face. "And you know what I did to him after my sexual thirst was quenched?" She whispers in Clark's ear. "I killed him. There is no redemption from that, Kal-El." She grabs his body and throws him against the wall of the house, her cousin's body crashing through the wall. "See you around, Cuz." Kara says while grinning evilly and then she makes a break for it, launching herself into the sky. I guess little Kal-El still can't fly... Pathetic. She thought with an amused grin.
Jan had been sipping his water while he and Chloe waited for Clark to return, but it was taking a lot longer than Chloe would have thought. "So... Jan... what happened? How did you end up here?" Chloe asked, placing a comfortable hand on his shoulder.
"Well, I was driving to Smallville on Route 9 when suddenly I see and hear lightening and thunder flashing. I saw fire all around and had been thinking it was some sort of ritual... and there was this nude girl laying there in a circle of fire. So I go there to help her while calling out to the girl, asked if she was alright.... and then she moved. Her body got up from the ground and she was looking at me. She's telling me she's fine but I don't buy it and try to make up her mind by going to the hospital. I get a red blanket from the car, doing the good Samaritan thing by covering up her body. We get in my car and drive toward the hospital, where I drop her off so I can get back to why I was in Smallville in the first place, which was finding you. The guy behind the counter says I have to fill out a form, which I do and then it's been like 35 minutes until a doctor finally shows to help out that girl. They want to keep her for one night so she can rest and all of a sudden she... changes. Her behavior changes." Jan says, remembering his first time with a woman. THAT woman.
Chloe's eyes get wide again as she listens to the event that has landed her childhood friend at the Smallville Medical Center. "Go on." Jan stares up at her, as if he is asking 'are you sure?' with his eyes. "She makes love to me." Jan says softly, not sure if he should go on. "Up to that point I still don't know her name and when... well.. you know... that moment comes I ask her her name. She replies that she doesn't share that kind of information with strangers and before I know it her hands are around my neck."
Chloe is shocked that Kara would do such a thing. "Uhm.. it may be a bad time to tell you this, but that's Kara Kent, Clark's cousin. She's been.... gone for a very long time." Jan is shocked, how could that girl be related to a kind guy as Clark Kent?! He shudders. "I sure don't want to be her boyfriend when she does things like that..." Jan says, eyes not meeting Chloe's. Chloe's hand entwines with Jan's. "She wasn't always like this, y'know? I don't know what happened to her.... or to Clark for that matter. Let me see what's keeping him." Chloe says and before Jan can reply Chloe has up and left the hospital, leaving her childhood friend all alone at the Hospital.
Meanwhile... at the Daily Planet...
"You wanted to see me, Lex?" Lois asks as she walks into the office of her boss, which she can't quite call 'boss' just yet. The thought creeps her out of a Luthor buying the Daily Planet, who knows what evil he can do now that he has the media on his side?? The thought makes Lois Lane cringe.
"Yes, Lois. I wanted you to write a story about the body that has been found at the Smallville Medical Center. Try to find out everything you can about this guy..." He smiles.
"I offered this to Chloe first, but she didn't have the guts to do this story and walked out on me. The thought of firing her had been on my mind, but luckily, for your sake, I'll keep your cousin around." Lex said with a grin as he doesn't wait for Lois to perch herself on a chair. He wants stories, right now! He's got a business to run! Lois freezes in her tracks.
She's second best? Why didn't her cousin want to do that story? She always jumps for joy when she's getting assigned a new story! Something just didn't add up.
"Right on it, Lex!" Lois said as she gets the file named Jan Oramu, so far it only has the dead man's picture, but Lois hasn't seen it yet. "Oh and Lois? Please call me boss." Lex says with a grin as he sees Lois slam the door shut behind her...
