~~~~~~~~~~ After his discussion with Carter, Newkirk slipped into the barracks. His mind raced and his thoughts spun around wildly. He really liked Hogan for his wit, charm and charisma. He really liked Carter because he was so simple, naive and innocent. He couldn't decide which one he wanted so that left one decision... ~~~~~~~~~~ Newkirk found Carter in the mess hall with LeBeau. The pair chattered as they cleaned. Newkirk watched Carter for a few moments. Newkirk finally made his way over. "Carter? Can I have a word?" Newkirk asked. "Sure thing, Newkirk." Carter said. He followed Newkirk outside. "Carter, I've thought about this. I want to have a relationship with you." Newkirk said. Carter blushed slightly. "What about Colonel Hogan?" Carter asked. "I've taken care of Colonel Hogan." Newkirk told him with a sly smile. Newkirk hadn't even spoken to Hogan since he had left Newkirk and Carter alone to talk. He didn't want to break up with Hogan. 'Why have one when I can have both.' Newkirk thought. He looked around. No one was near them. Newkirk leaned forward and brushed his lips softly against Carter's. Carter slowly and gently returned the kiss. Newkirk smiled and walked off. Carter grinned as he watched Newkirk. ~~~~~~~~~~
