Chapter 2
By the end of the week, magic school had let out for the summer. Wyatt had informed the school that they would be leaving for a while and was not sure when they would be returning. Sahara had busied herself in making sure everyone was packed up and ready for their trip. The twins had left for Japan just two day prior. They wanted to leave early and had planned on stopping by around Christmas to visit. They had promised to keep in contact with their younger siblings through the use of their old notebook. The notebooks were a direct link to each other. Instead of using phones or the internet, they could write to each other as long as one of the siblings was looking at theirs. They had used the books to share new spells, information, and even fighting techniques with one another.
Allie and Connor waited for their parents in the entryway. Allie was scared and nervous. She was worried about her want of her kitsune form which she was currently in. Connor just watched his sister’s nervous habit of transforming. He knew all of them could do it but he just didn’t like to. He sighed as he watched his sister transform for the third time.
“Allie, would you stop that. You know you can’t show up in that form.” He finally said to her.
“I know but I can’t help it. I’m scared, Connor.” She replied.
“Come here.” He said pulling his trembling little sister into a hug. “You will still have me to look after you.” He said trying to clam her down.
“Not for long. You may find friends your age and want to hang with them.” She said.
“True but it won’t change the fact that I’m your brother. You will be fine. Now you better change back before mom and dad come in here.” He said smiling.
She smiled back and changed into her human form, her dark hair bouncing in waves off her back. She pulled out some earphones from her pocket and listened to her ipod. Connor just smiled at his sister as he watched her dance around. He knew she had talent in song and dance. She just would not act on it. She was a natural. Out of all of his siblings, he knew he was the quiet one. There older sister was the creative one. She was an artist and loved anything to do with art. His brothers were skilled in combat while his little sister was skilled in music. He loved to write and history. He loved to travel just as much as his parents loved it. As much as they had their differences, all of the siblings agreed on one thing, protecting their baby sister. Connor knew his parents did not plan on having anymore kids. Not after nearly loosing the youngest and their mother. It was a scare for all of them, even if he was too small to remember any of it.
Wyatt and Sahara walked into the entryway with all the bags they needed. Sahara smiled as she watched her youngest dance. Wyatt taped Allie on the shoulder indicating that she should turn off the ipod. Once she placed the earphones back in her pocket, Wyatt spoke.
“Is everyone all set and ready to go?” Wyatt asked his children.
“Just one question. How are we going to get there? I mean none of us bought passports or anything.” Connor asked as Allie moved to stand beside of him.
“We will be orbing there. Connor, you will orb with Allie. Just remember to follow us.” Wyatt said taking Sahara by the hand.
“But I want to go with you.” Allie said.
“No, you go with your brother. We can orb together some other time.” Wyatt answered.
“That’s what you said before.” Allie said.
“Why don’t you take her just this once? You never took her before.” Sahara said.
“Alright. Come on Allie, we need to get going. Connor, follow with your mother.” Wyatt agreed.
Allie smiled as she leaped into her fathers’ arms. Wyatt was glade that he worked out and that Allie wasn’t every heavy. Connor waited only a minute before taking his mother by the hand and orbing them and their bags on out.
“Why do I have to be here?” Harry complained as he waited for the arrivals with Remus.
“Dumbledore thought you should meet your trainers.” Remus replied.
“But Ron and Hermione just arrived and we were going to hang out. Catch up with each other’s summers.” Harry complained sitting down on a bench. They were in an unoccupied part of the huge airport. Dumbledore had set it up to make it look like the ones they were waiting for would arrive by plane.
“It shouldn’t be too much longer before they arrive. Trust me; you may like how they arrive.” Remus said mysteriously.
It was around noon when Remus looked up and watched his long time friend arrive. He noticed Harry sat open mouthed at what he just saw. Two people arrived in shining blue lights. It was amazing.
“Wyatt! Good to see you again. Who is this?” Remus said as he hugged his friend and looking to the young teen still in his arms. Wyatt smiled as he put Allie down.
“This is my youngest, Allie.” Wyatt said.
“Your youngest? How many kids do you have now?” Remus asked.
“Five total. Sahara should be arriving soon with our youngest boy.”
“What of the twins? Are they coming? They could have been the perfect set to compete with the Weasley twins.”
“They are in Japan now with their grandparents. They did say they were going to visit for Christmas.”
“Ah that’s good.”
Just then Connor orbed in with Sahara. Harry just watched opened month unable to say a word. Sahara smiled at seeing her old friend. She let go of her son and gave her old friend a hug.
“Sahara, as beautiful as ever.” Remus said.
“Good to see you to. How is everyone? We haven’t talked to anyone since we left last time.” Sahara said.
“Yea, you two just disappeared in the dead of night. I heard that you two kept in contact with Snape.” Remus said.
“We did after a while, but only for some information on potions that were more complicated for me to make. He even would come by the house on occasions but we never talked about anyone or anything that was going on here. In fact, he never said anything other than the potions he was working on.” Wyatt said.
“What were the potions for? Why did you two just disappear?”
“I was pregnant and couldn’t hide it much longer. We left before I was due. The potions we needed came when I was pregnant with Allie. It’s complicated. Actually, we lost contact with Severus just before I had Allie.” Sahara explained.
“So if you were friends with my parents, then you know about their deaths?” Harry asked.
“No. We never knew they were dead. When we left, Lily was about three months along.” Wyatt said.
“So you don’t know that Snape betrayed them to Voldemort.” Harry said.
“Uhhh… Are we talking about the same Snape who spied for the Order?” Wyatt asked.
“Yes!” Harry said as he glared at the newcomers.
“I can’t say anything for him but I know that he can be trusted.” Sahara said.
Harry didn’t respond. He was too angry to speak. As he fumed, his eyes wondered over to the two teens that arrived with them. He first looked at Connor. He noticed how he resembled his father. He could almost pass for a younger version of his father. The only difference was the shape of their eyes. He had his mothers shape but his father’s color. Harry also noticed that they appeared to be around the same age. Connor was taller than Harry by several inches.
Allie, Harry noticed, looked just like her mother. She had her dark hair down and it curled around her face, framing it just so. Her dark hair complimented her dark tan skin. He was in all, mesmerized by her. There was barely any trace of her father in her. She appeared to be younger than him by a year or so. Even though she looked young, her outfit showed off just right to see that she was no child. She looked to be just as mad as he was at the moment. He wondered if she was here against her will.
“Harry, this is Sahara and Wyatt. They will train you in all they can during the summer. These two are their kids, Connor and Allie. They will be going to Hogwarts with you.” Remus said to Harry.
Harry just nodded as Remus led everyone out of the now crowding airport to the car that was waiting for them. Harry noticed how Allie didn’t say much. She seemed to be too quiet. She almost seemed to cling to her father’s side. He walked beside of Connor and tried to start up a conversation.
“So, are you excited about coming to Hogwarts?” Harry asked.
“I guess, but I’m not sure. I mean, I liked my old school.” Connor said.
“It must have been hard to leave your friends behind.”
“It was. I was closer to my cousins so it was harder to leave them.”
“How many do you have?”
“Too many to count.”
“Oh. You will like it here.”
“I hope so.” Connor and Harry continued their conversation. Harry begun to tell him all about Hogwarts and what to expect.
Wyatt noticed the conversation and smiled. His eyes landed on his youngest and he frowned. She had become quieter than usual. He noticed her eyes dropping and her pace slowing down. He looked to Sahara and knew she could feel her drop in energy. He could feel her magic becoming lower. They stopped walking long enough for him to pick her up and carry her on to the car.
He began to worry when they got into the car and he sat Allie down on his lap. He glanced over and saw the same concern in her eyes. Allie had fallen asleep and seemed to be restful. They knew that out of all their children, she was the most sensitive to different types of magic.
It wasn’t no time at all that they arrived at HQ. Everyone filed out of the limo as Remus handed a note to the guests to read. They studied what was written before the paper went up in smoke. When the group looked up, a house was standing where an empty lot was moments before. Wyatt was carrying the still sleeping Allie. Connor’s eyes went wide as he watched a house seem to appear out of nowhere.
“That was cool!” Connor said as they headed up to the door.
“That’s nothing. Wait until we go shopping for school supplies.” Harry smiled. He knew he was going to get along with him just fine.
“Huh?” Connor questioned as they entered the house.
“Yea there is a whole community of wizards and witches that is hidden from Muggles.” Harry said.
“Oh. There is nothing like that back home. The only place I know of is Magic School.” Connor said.
“Where do you practice?” Harry asked.
“At home, just as long as we don’t get caught. We can’t use our powers outside of the house.” Connor explained.
“Harry!” Hermione said coming down the hall with Ron. Before Harry could reply, he was being dragged away by the two. They began to talk about how each other’s summer was. All thoughts of the new comers were completely out of their minds.
"Hey Remus. Where are we?" Sahara asked looking around at the dark house.
"We are in Sirius's childhood home." Remus said quietly.
"Oh, speaking of which, where is the jokester?" Wyatt asked.
"He was killed several months ago." Remus said sadly.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Sahara said.
"Some more people should be arriving soon." Remus said changing the subject.
"Just led the way." Wyatt smiled lighting up the mood.
“Come let me show you where you can put your things.” Remus said as he led them up the stairs and to their bedrooms. Wyatt carefully lad Allie down on the bed in her room. He carefully closed the door behind him. It turned out; Connor was sharing a room with Ron and Harry while Allie shared a room with Ginny and Hermione. Wyatt and Sahara had a room to themselves.
After everyone was settled, Remus led them all back down the stairs. Sahara stopped to check upon Allie. She was growing more concerned as time past. She frowned when she tried to feel her daughter’s spiritual energy. Her levels were too low for her liking. She quietly followed the rest down to the kitchen.
“Are all these people part of the order?” Sahara asked Remus as she looked around the crowded kitchen.
“Yes. Unfortunately, everyone loves Molly’s cooking. Sorry if there isn’t anything left.” Remus said feeling guilty.
“It’s alright. Once everyone leaves I can fix something for us. This many people won’t be here all the time, right?” she asked looking to Connor.
“No. By morning it will mainly be me, the Weasley’s, you four, and Harry. Snape will make an appearance once in a while but I think after knowing you were coming, he might stay as well.” Remus replied.
“Good. So, why so many people today?” Wyatt asked.
“There was going to be a meeting later but now I’m not so sure.” Remus said.
The night proceeded, as everyone got their fill of Molly’s cooking. They began to file out few at a time. It was soon down to just the occupants who were currently residing there. Connor was finally able to sit down ad the now empty table. Before long, it was down to just Hermione, Harry, and Ron left from the dinner crowd. Connor had sat in front of them as Wyatt and Remus sat next to each other to talk. Sahara began to pull out some pans and began another dinner.
“What’s wrong?” Harry asked Connor as he noticed the hungry look in his eyes.
“I’m hungry.” He simply said.
“Why didn’t you eat?” Ron asked him.
“I would have if there was anything left to eat.” Connor said.
“No, I… we were talking. I didn’t notice anything.” Harry said looking down.
“It’s alright. I’m going to make his favorite meal. Besides, Wyatt and I need to sit up some ground rules for them and sit up a training schedule for you.” Sahara said coming to Remus’s aid.
“I did promise to make things like they would be at home.” Wyatt said.
“When did you promise that, dad?” Connor asked curiously.
“I promised your sister before we left.” Wyatt replied.
All sat in a comfortable silence as Sahara began to fix a second dinner. Wyatt talked with Harry and his friends as Remus got to know his friends’ youngest son.
“Where is your sister?” Harry asked as he noticed one person missing from the group.
“She is still sleeping.” Connor said yawning some.
“Looks like she isn’t the only one.” Ron teased.
“Yes, well, the magic here is really starting to take its toll on me. It affected Allie more though.”
“What do you mean?” Hermione asked.
“Well, we are sensitive to the different feels of magic in a place. Like here, it is different than home. When we visit our grandparents in Japan, it feels calmer.” Connor tried to explain.
“What do you feel here?” Hermione asked.
“Well, it has different levels to it. Say in this house, the magic feels darker, but once outside it lightens up. It’s hard to explain.” Connor said.
“This is interesting. We could learn so much from each other.” Hermione said.
“Should we go get her? Dinner is almost ready.” Sahara said.
“No need. I’m here.” Allie said coming into the kitchen rubbing her eyes. Her energy and magic levels were still dangerously low.
As the rest of the household put in their part to getting things looking better, no one noticed a tall dark guest to enter.
“It seems as if we have new arrivals.” The tall figure said.
“Snape, you remember Wyatt and Sahara. They came once again to give their aid in the cause. These are the two youngest.” Remus spoke up.
“Still as unwelcoming as before, Severus.” Wyatt said standing up to greet him.
“Still think that you are funny, Wyatt.” Snape replied letting his mask fall and smiling at his friend. He pulled Wyatt into a hug. Harry sat open mouthed for the second time.
“Glade to see that you are surviving.” Wyatt said
“Yes, but just that. Lupin said these two were your youngest? Last I checked the twins were your youngest.” Snape said looking at the two teens.
“That was before we had Connor and Allie.” Wyatt said smiling.
“Do you plan on anymore children? Three more and you would have beaten Weasley.” Snape smirked.
“No. Allie is our last.” Wyatt said.
“Dinner is ready.” Sahara said cheerfully.
“I can’t eat anymore.” Ron said as he eyed the food.
“But I can.” Connor said as he dug in.
“You’re always hungry.” Allie said as she began to eat slowly. Soon the kitchen was filled with laughter, even Snape joined in. The laughter caught the attention the other occupants. Everyone began to file back into the kitchen to see what was going on. Molly stood opened mouthed at the kitchen she had just cleaned.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were still hungry?” Molly asked.
“It’s not their fault. The kids didn’t get a chance to eat. Besides, I promised their favorite. Wyatt and I want to keep things as close to normal for them.” Sahara spoke up.
“Oh, well next time we can try to keep the others from eating everything before anyone else gets a chance to eat.” Molly said.
Soon everyone began to head in different directions, until the only ones left were Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Snape. Allie and Connor were talking among themselves as Sahara and Wyatt sat at the table. They took on a serious look.
“We need to set up a training time for you.” Wyatt said.
“Who said anything about training?” Ron asked.
“Dumbledore asked us to come and train you. Believe it or not but we are here to help out.” Sahara replied.
“So what kind of training are you talking about?” Hermione asked.
“Well, we are trained in combat skills and have a different type of magic than you have. We can teach you wandless magic.” Wyatt said.
“What about us?” Connor asked finally.
“Well, we thought Severus could help teach you about their type of magic and get you prepared for the school here.” Wyatt said to both his children.
“Do we have to go to their school?” Allie asked.
“Yes, it would be safer for you.” Sahara said.
“But…” Allie began.
“There is no excuse for you not to go.” Wyatt said.
“I think she was talking about her control.” Connor said glancing between his parents and his little sister.
“Oh, sorry baby girl. I thought you were going to complain some more.” Wyatt said. Allie didn’t say anything. She just remained quiet.
“We will teach you after your lessons with Severus.” Sahara said smiling. Allie just nodded her head in response.
“You know I haven’t agreed to teach them.” Snape said smirking at his friends.
“You know you will though.” Remus replied.
“True. Just thought that I would have pointed it out to you.” Snape remarked.
“Now all of you children need to go on to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow.” Sahara said. Four of the kids stood up while Allie remained seated. Her head was down as she lightly slept. Connor picked his sister up and carried her.
‘Wonder if the magic difference here is taking its toll on her.’ He thought as he carried her up to her bed and tucked her in for the night.
“There is something we need to tell you.” Sahara said to Snape.
“Allie tends to transform when she becomes nervous. We allowed her to back home. Here she won’t be able to very often.” Wyatt said.
“Just like her mother. I won’t be surprised if she does and I promise to keep anyone from walking in on us when I am training them.” Snape reassured his friends.
“After the kids go back to school, we will be helping with the order more.” Wyatt said.
“So will you be going in as a spy?” Snape asked.
“No. Well, only if I must, but I am still refusing the mark.” Sahara said.
“How do you plan on that?” Remus asked.
“By the same story as before. I would be able to get anywhere and be more helpful if I didn’t have the mark. Besides, I could get a lot more people to trust me.” Sahara said.
“That is what I want you to do. Only difference is, Wyatt will be the one to spy with Severus.” Dumbledore said walking into the kitchen.
“I could do it. I’ve done it before.” Sahara said.
“Yes, I did not leave you out. You will be a spy as well, only in your fox form as Wyatt’s familiar. You can bring messages between us when they are unable to get away.” Dumbledore said further.
“I understand.” Sahara said nodding her head.
“Remus, the rest of the order is not to know about their job. It is to be kept secret. They report to me directly.” Dumbledore said with his eyes twinkling.
“Yes Sir.” Remus said just as the order arrived for the meeting. Many kept their distances from Wyatt and Sahara while others showed their miss trust in them. Snape just smirked at everyone’s reaction and Remus tried to hold back his delight. The meeting continued well into the night in this manner.
