The rain fell at a punishing rate, soaking anyone unlucky, or ill-prepared enough to have an umbrella to the skin in he blinking of an eye. Skinner, as always uncanny in the ways of the unexpected, was managing to keep a facsimile of protection against nature's onslaught.

Still, after standing watch behind the protection of the heavy bushes lining the park borders, Skinner was more than a little drenched, and working on being eternally chilled to the bone.

He glanced at his watch, and frowned darkly.

Krycek was late.

His dark gaze swept the street, first one way then the other. No sign of Krycek.

Sighing, he committed to wait five minutes more.

The time came as went with still no sign of the elusive triple agent.

Ten minutes.

Fifteen.

Pushing through the cloaking bushes, Skinner grumbled about the insanity of the situation under his breath and ran right into the man we'd been waiting for so very long.

"Skinner?" Krycek croaked, his voice clearly strained by illness.

"Krycek, you sound horrible."

Alex gave him a sarcastically mocking glance.

"You're late." Skinner went on grudgingly.

Alex turned to face him. "We have a date I forgot about?"

"Not to my recollection."

"Ah," He nodded thoughtfully. "Then you're stalking me." He moved along the path, tossing, "There are laws against that, you know?" over his shoulder.

"Don't think I'll lose any sleep over it." Skinner said, hurrying to keep pace with the slow moving triple agent. "I wasn't sure you were going to come today. what happened?"

Krycek smirked. "Overslept."

"Krycek, Spender rang your phone this morning."

Alex faltered, then pressed forward, the last bit to his bench of choice. He eased down onto the had seat with a sigh of purest bliss.

"Did you hear me, Krycek? Spender is looking for you."

"I heard." Alex pulled out his bad of crumbs and tossed out a handful. The crumbs went soggy before the pigeons could reach them, but hungry birds can't be beggers, and worms weren't any more slimy than the doughy bread.

"And...?" Skinner paced before the other man, waving his arms frantically. "You told me you resigned. You said Spender let you go."

"I said Spender knew I'd left."

Skinner took a moment to let that sink in before he got up in Krycek's face, "What the hell? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Don't you know...?" Skinner sputtered to a halt. "You are. You want him to send a clean up crew and ....Jesus..."

Krycek signed, glancing around, then stuffed the drenched bag of soggy crumbs back into his jacket pocket. "You scared away all the birds." He stood up shakily.

Skinner caught his forearms, steadying him. "You need to see a doctor."

He snorted, shaking Skinner off. "What for?"

He took two steps, intent on leaving Skinner behind, and fell flat on his face in a dead faint.
