“Dude I’m sorry about ya face.” Danny said as he plopped down on Stella’s couch by Flack.
“Yeah I’m gonna kick ya fuckin ass.” Don said glaring at him and taking an ice bag from Stella.
“You have to make this right.” Stella said to Danny. “Do you care about her?”
“I love her.” He said sighing. “I got spooked, I didn’t want get hurt.”
“Yeah how’d dat work out for ya?” Don asked sarcastically.
“You shut up.” Stella said staring at him.
“Ok.” He said closing his mouth.
“Danny you hurt her bad.” Stella said. “You have to do something.”
“What do I do?” He asked jumping up and pacing.
“I don’t know but it’s gonna have to be good.” Stella said. “You know her better than we do what do you think?” She asked Don.
“I don’t know.” He said shrugging. “We’re not dat close, I’m serious, I mean we been hanging the last couple of weeks but Messer knows her better than me.” Don said.
“She’s not gonna wanna listen to me.” Danny said sadly. “What about if I got er flowers?” He asked.
“Danny this is bigger than flowers.” Stella said.
“Lot’s of flowers?” He asked feeling stupid.
“No flowers, honey there aren’t enough flowers in New York to fix this.” Stella said sighing.
“So what am I supposed to do grab my boom box and play music under the window?” He asked sarcastically.
“Well.” Stella said smiling.
“I was kiddin Stel.” Danny said.
“I wonder if that would work?” Stella said. “Has she seen that movie say anything?”
“Yeah, oh god.” He said taking off his glasses and rubbing his face. “Dat’s what I gotta do, we were talkin about it, I said it was stupid and embarrassing and she said it was but it was romantic.”
“You’re gonna need more than a boom box.” Don said smiling at the thought of Danny being embarrassed.
“I got a plan.” He said smiling weakly. “Will ya help me?”
“Maybe.” Stella said. “Let’s hear it?” She said plopping down on the couch smiling as he started telling.

“What?” Lindsay asked opening her door seeing Stella and Flack standing outside.
“How are you?” Stella asked pushing past her to walk in.
“Oh god.” Lindsay said seeing Don’s nose. “I’m gonna kill him.”
“Hey its not bad.” Don said smiling as he plopped down on the couch by Stella.
“He feels bad.” Stella said smiling as Lindsay sat down on the chair in the corner pulling her knees up and hugging them.
“Yeah well we all feel bad.” Lindsay said laying her head on her knees. She was wearing pajama pants and a black tank top and her hair was wet like she’d just gotten out of the shower.
“Jeez Lindsay it’s hot in here.” Stella said.
“I know, I turned the heat down.” Lindsay said shrugging. “Must be nicer out today.”
“It’s not bad.” Don said. “Probably 60?” He asked and Stella nodded. “We should open a window?”
“I had them open last night.” Lindsay said getting up and opening a few of the windows in the living room. “I know it’s not safe but it was so hot.” Lindsay said pouring herself another cup of coffee. “So what brings you guys by at 10 am?”
“Just visiting.” Stella said getting up and opening the windows wider smiling as she saw Danny down on the ground.
“I’m fine guys, I’m not gonna shatter into a million pieces.” Lindsay said.
“I know.” Stella said. “Love sucks.”
“Yeah.” Lindsay said. “What is that?” She asked as music started to play.
“I dunno.” Stella said hearing the song start. “Nice song.”
“It’s a good song.” Lindsay said yawning. “Neighbors are gonna bitch.” She said humming along with the song.
“Not bad for country.” Flack said smiling.

“Lindsay Monroe, it’s me.” Danny said nervously into the bull horn he borrowed from the station.
“What the hell?” Lindsay asked getting off the couch and walking to the window. “What is he doing?” She asked staring at him standing down on the street as people opened their windows to yell at him.
“Montana, I messed up.” He said sighing and taking a deep breath so nervous he felt like he could puke. “I know it’s country, see the thing is, I guess I sorta like country, only since I met ya, and this song well I think of ya.” He said. “Everytime I hear it I think of ya.”
“He’s insane.” Lindsay said turning to look at them. “You knew about this?” She asked shaking her head.
“I lied to you.” He said. “When I said just dinner and drinks I was lying, it’s been more than that since the beginning.” He said.

“Should I stop him?” Lindsay asked as someone threw something out their window at him.
“See the thing is, I’m a jealous asshole, and I love you, I never had this before and I knew I would screw it up.” He said. “But I’m out here, and I’m embarrassing myself and probably you but I don’t know what else to do, so if I gotta embarrass myself until next week I’m gonna do it.” He said.
“I can’t let him do this.” She said walking over to put on her shoes.
“No.” Stella said stopping her. “Please.”
“Somewhere between our flirting and ya yelling at me for calling ya Montana and dead rotting bodies, I guess I figured out I can’t live without ya, I mean I can I been doin it for a while but I don’t want to, nothings right without ya.” He said and she walked back to the window her eyes filling with tears.

“Shit.” He said as a cop car pulled up.
“Shit.” Lindsay said wiping tears off her face. “I have to go down there.” She said fighting tears.
“No, he broke my nose, let him squirm a little.” Don said and she laughed rolling her eyes and watching as he talked to the cops. “Who is that?” Don asked squinting to see who the cops were that were harassing him. “Matthews.” He said picking up his cell phone and dialing.
“Matthews.” The cop said.
“Flack, leave him alone.” Don said. “My orders.”
“Boss we got complaints.” The cop said.
“Yeah well ya ain’t gonna wanna miss Messer making a pussy out of himself so sit back and enjoy.” Don said.
“Yeah tha might be fun.” The cop said hanging up. “Carry on.” He said to Danny.
“Ok Montana, so the cops are here, so anytime ya wanna come down here and put me out of my misery is ok wit me.” He said over the speaker. “So what was I saying?” He asked.
“Nothings right without her.” A woman a few stories below yelled.
“Thanks.” He said shaking his head. “So it’s not right without ya, I was an ass about Flack, I know you wouldn’t be wit a clown like dat.” He said and Flack went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water throwing it at him and almost hitting him. “Dude no throwing things.” Danny said ducking. “So Montana I been up all night, and I made a list.” He said pulling a paper out of his pocket as the song You Save Me came on. “This is another song makes me think of ya, I think if ya ever come down it should be our song.” He said smiling. “Ok so my list, I tried to put the things I love about ya in order but I had a little trouble.” He said.
“He made a list?” Lindsay asked shocked.
“We didn’t know about the list.” Stella said smiling.
“Ok so um when ya annoyed at me, ya get dis look on ya, it’s freaking adorable and ya huff under ya breath, makes me hot.” He said and his face turned red. “Um at work I can’t help but watch ya, ya stare at the evidence and ya bite ya bottom lip, it’s so sexy and I almost can’t physically make myself stop looking at ya, I mean Mac talked to me about it, dat was embarrassin.” He said nervously. “Another thing I love about ya is when ya tuck ya hair behind ya ear, it’s really sweet. Oh and the way ya hair smells, it’s like honeysuckle, I can smell it a long time after ya leave, messes wit my head.” He said and Lindsay swiped at her tears. “Ok well dis is on the list hope it don’t make ya mad, but I love when ya catch me lookin down ya shirt, and ya blush.” He said smiling. “Ya don’t get pissed at me but ya blush, I should feel bad for doin it but I just can’t.” He said and she laughed. “Ya funny, and ya don’t take my crap and ya never play stupid, I love dat ya smart, sometimes it kills me the things ya know and I could listen to ya talk forever. Oh another thing.” He said looking at the list. “I love dat we don’t gotta talk, I like just being wit ya, in the car in the lab, and we can be quiet. I love dat ya love sports and ya fix things, and ya tough, god I’ve seen ya take down huge men, and ya not scared of anything.” He said shaking his head. “But then like wit dat hostage thing, I was so scared, ya didn’t look scared and I didn’t want ya to do it, but I was kinda proud and then it went bad and I love dat ya don’t need me, but ya let me hold ya, it’s nice to feel like ya need me even though I know ya can take care of yaself.” He said and she smiled tearfully.
“Flack you tell me when he’s had enough.” Lindsay said shaking her head.
“Ok so next.” Danny said looking at the list. “Ok next is kinda important, ya got a fantastic ass, I mean really phenomenal, I love watching ya leave.” He said and she laughed. “Oh I love when ya wanna be the bad cop during an interrogation and I love it more when ya wanna be the good cop and the suspect says something dat pisses ya off and all of a sudden I’m the good cop.” He said smiling. “Love that ya can bring a grown man to his knees fu, freaking sexy.” He said catching himself. “I love when ya mouth the words to the song and when we argue over the radio station, sometimes I don’t let ya win cause ya so cute when ya annoyed but then when we find a song ya love, ya whole face lights up and ya smile so big, I’d do about anything to see dat.” He said and she smiled shaking her head. “I love in the mornings ya try to reach ya coffee cup on the top shelf and ya stand on ya tippy toes and then ya give up and jump trying to get it, and ya finally give up and let me get it, love dat.” He said smiling. “Dat’s why I move the coffee cup every night before I go home.” He said.
“I knew it.” She said smiling brightly.
“I love dat ya know my secrets the things I ain’t proud of but ya see me, wrecks me, when dat shit happened wit Louie, ya never looked at me like ya pitied me, dat meant everything.” He said getting choked up.
“Wrap it up.” Someone yelled.
“Hey I can go for days.” Danny said. “I got 3 pages. Montana, people are getting pissed.” He said ducking as someone threw a roll of toliet paper at him. “I got tons more, and I’ll do anything, I’ll even stop callin ya Montana, I know ya said ya hated it.” He said. “Ok I love dat ya don’t let me win, oh and ya don’t laugh at my jokes if they ain’t funny.” He said. “I love when I‘m pissed off and want to punch someone or something and ya walk in and I just melt, ya say Danny, and just like dat I‘m not pissed anymore.” He said smiling. “Did I say I love the way ya say my name, no one says my name like ya do.” He said.
“Flack I’m goin.” Lindsay said slipping on her slippers and climbing out the window.
“I love that ya right, ya always right and it annoys me but I’m willing to spend the rest of my life getting used to it.” He said and looked up as people started yelling. “Oh thank god.” He said seeing her climbing down the fire escape.
“She didn’t even take a jacket.” Stella said tears falling down her face as she watched Lindsay climb down the fire escape.
“Lindsay you’re the only woman I ever loved.” He said smiling as she got almost to the ground as people clapped.
“Hey.” She said out of breath just realizing she was in her pajamas. “Call me Montana.”
“Ya said ya hated it.” He said smiling as she walked closer.
“Everyone calls me Lindsay, Montana’s yours.” She said stepping close and grabbing his face kissing him hard as he wrapped his arms around her kissing her back turning them to lean her on the cop car and holding her head as he deepened the kiss.
“I’m sorry.” He said as they broke away.
“Danny you had me a dead rotting bodies.” She said kissing him again. “Flack wanted you to squirm.” She said shaking her head. “I love you.” She whispered..
“I love you too.” He said touching her face.
“Give me that bull horn.” She said sniffing. He smiled and handed it to her. “Stella, lock up my apartment.” She said and Stella waved.
“Let’s get out of here.” Danny said handing the cops the bull horn and kissing her again. “God I love kissing ya.” He said smiling against her lips.
“Danny, I’m gonna jump you in like 5 seconds, if you don’t want it to be on the street we should go.” She said pulling his bottom lip into her mouth.
“Jesus.” He said pulling her to his car and opening the door and running around to the drivers seat and turning down the music and tearing out of the parking lot. “Lindsay I’m so sorry, I was so scared and I didn’t sleep wit Shelly.” He said driving fast.
“I was scared too, and I was so jealous.” She said scooting over and holding his hand. “I couldn’t think about you being with her.”
“I thought I could get ya out of my system but I couldn’t touch her, I couldn’t even really kiss er.” He said. “God I want you.” He said breathing heavily as he pulled into his apartment complex and slammed into his parking place jumping out of the car meeting her and laughing as they almost ran into the building. “Ya in ya pajamas.” He said pulling her onto the elevator.
“I was in a hurry.” She whispered kissing him letting him slip his tongue into her mouth as they devoured each other.
“Slow fuckin elevator.” He said pulling up on her butt as she wrapped her legs around his waist.
“I never wanted anything like I want you.” She whispered as he nuzzled her neck.
“God me too, I haven’t been wit anyone in almost a year.” He said carrying her off the elevator as the doors opened. “I only wanted you.”
“It’s been a long time for me too.” She said laughing as he balanced her against the door as he dug his keys out of his pocket. He got the door open and kicked it shut gasping loudly as she pulled off the tank top.
“Perfect.” He said trying to walk and bend over to pull a nipple into his mouth knocking over a lamp and a small table.
“Careful.” She said smiling as he looked up.
“Shit.” He said moving them into the bedroom and dropping her on the bed and yanking off his clothes as she tore at hers.
“Hurry.” She said toeing off her socks and smiling as she pulled her black panties off.
“Holy shit.” He said tripping over his pants as he tried to kick them off. “Damn Lindsay ya perfect.” He said crawling up kissing her flat belly and licking up to take a nipple into his mouth loving the sounds she was making.
“Danny.” She said breathing hard. “Play later?” She asked and he nodded moaning lightly as she wrapped her legs around his waist.

“Did you get it?” Flack asked Adam as they walked into Lindsay’s apartment.
“Yep.” Adam said mumbling something about technology and the advances they’ve made in video recorders.
“Adam.” Flack said interrupting him. “Ya did good thanks.” Don said watching the video Adam made of the whole thing.

“I have an idea.” Lindsay said later that afternoon.
“Score but I need a few more minutes.” Danny said smiling at her.
“No, I’m not gonna be able to walk tomorrow.” Lindsay said kissing him. “My idea was to go to my apartment to get some stuff, I don’t have any clothes.”
“You don’t need clothes.” He whispered nuzzling her neck.
“Do you want to stay the night together?” She asked smiling as he ran his tongue along her ear.
“Yeah I want spend every night wit ya.” He whispered.
“Then I have to go home.” She said pushing him away. “I don’t have clothes, anything and I don’t have the most important thing.” She said and he lifted his eye brow questioning her. “Birth control pills are in my apartment.”
“Oh.” He said nodding. “Really liking dis no condom thing.” He said smiling. “I never did it without one now I know what all the fuss is about.”
“I haven’t either, it’s really nice.” Lindsay said. “But if I miss my pill we’ll have to use em.”
“We can sleep at ya apartment.” He said kissing her. “I’ll just grab some stuff and yeah.” He said smiling.
“You look tired.” She whispered running her fingers through his hair.
“Well I was up all night.” He admitted. “But I want ya again.” He said pulling her across his lap.
“Wow.” Lindsay said feeling his erection pressing against her belly. “You have some kind of stamina, we’ve done it 4 times.” She said smiling.
“Are ya sore?” He asked.
“Not really.” She said.
“Not really dat mean you’re a little sore?” He asked blue eyes shining with concern.
“Just getting a little tender, I haven’t had sex in 4 years.” She admitted.
“Wow.” He said shocked. “Well we gotta slow down I don’t wanna hurt ya.” He said rubbing her back.
“I want to tell you about Montana.” She said rolling off of him onto her side looking at him. “I was gonna ask you, I know things were messed up with us but that day I was gonna ask you I saw you with Shelly and I didn’t want to make things worse and Flack said if I needed anything.” She said closing her eyes. “I dated this guy named Brandon, and we dated for 4 years and at first he was just verbally abusive and it escalated to a point where I ended up in the hospital and he got put in jail.” She said and Danny kissed her softly.. “I’m scared of him, my sister Tiffy is marrying his brother and I don’t think he’ll try anything especially around my family but I thought if I brought someone with me I’d feel safer at my house.” She said softly. “I just didn’t have anyone else to ask, I didn’t ask him because I was interested in him I was just scared.”
“I’m a real asshole.” He said feeling bad.
“No I didn’t tell you so you’d feel bad.” She said touching his face. “I want you to come, I wanted you to before but I know it’s a big step to meet my family but I now they’ll love you but if your not ready I completely understand.” She said.
“Montana, I’d marry ya today, I know we’re moving fast but I been waiting my whole life for dis, and I want to meet ya family see where my Montana comes from.” He said smiling. “This is it for me.”
“For me too.” She said smiling. “That day I stood you up, Brandon called, said he was coming to see me, I said I met someone and he freaked out, I just got scared and I was afraid you didn’t want what I did, but I promise I knew that day that I told you that stuff, I walked away and I regretted it.” She whispered. “I knew I messed up but I just had to work through it in my mind. I never dreamed you would love me or want anything more than a fling.”
“It was always more for me, but I thought ya were feeling pressured and if I made it seem casual ya wouldn’t say no.” He said. “I regretted saying it, I wanted to chase ya and tell ya that I loved ya and that I wanted marry you and have babies but I was scared and I thought well at least if I can’t be with her I can still be friends wit her, but that was harder than I thought.”
“Tell me you love me?” She asked.
“I love you Lindsay Monroe.” He said kissing her gently. “So much.”
“I love you Danny Messer.” She said rubbing her thumb on his bottom lip. “You know, I have to make a list, it’s only fair.”
“Sounds good.” He said smiling. “Tell me ya love when I call ya Montana.”
“I do, I have for a long time.” She said smiling. “I told my sister about it she laughed but I said Tiffy, seriously it makes my insides jello when he says it and she thought that was hilarious.”
“Jello huh?” He asked smiling tiredly.
“Yep.” She said. “Let’s go so I can put you to bed.” She said smiling.
“Ok.” He said stretching.

“What are you doing?” Lindsay asked Danny laughing as he pulled her into the alley in front of the lab.
“We can’t do this in there.” He whispered kissing her softly pulling her tight against him. “Just wanna kiss ya one more time before we go in.” He said touching her face.
“We can touch at lunch.” She said smiling.
“Oh now ya gonna eat lunch wit me?” He asked grinning.
“Maybe.” She said smiling and lifting on her tippy toes to kiss him again.
“We’re gonna be late.” He said against her mouth.
“This was your idea.” She said grinning.
“Come on Montana.” He said playfully smacking her on the butt and taking her hand and leading her into the building. “What’s goin on?” He asked as they walked in and a crowd of people was gathered in the lobby. “Oh shit.” He said looking up at all the tv screens around the room.
“Oh.” Lindsay said jaw dropped in shock as a video played of Danny at her window.
“I’m gonna kill em.” Danny said pinching the bridge of his nose as he talked nervously on the screen.
“Messer wow.” Detective Angel said glancing at them as she watched and listened.
“Oh shit.” Danny said his face red as he heard himself talking about him listening to country music.
“This is so romantic.” Carla from the ballistics lab said smiling at the screen.
“It was so romantic.” Lindsay whispered to him squeezing his hand and leaning against him.
“Oh look the cops.” Someone said laughing.
“Mornin.” Don said walking over to them looking pretty proud of himself with both eyes black and his nose still swollen.
“Asshole.” Danny said shaking his head.
“Um look at my face.” Don said glaring at him. “Ya gotta stand here and listen, paybacks are a bitch.”
“Can’t ya just hit me?” Danny asked seriously. “Man really go ahead ya got a free shot.”
“No.” Lindsay said shocked. “He’s not hitting you.”
“Yeah this is better anyway.” Flack said smiling as someone sighed.
“You made a list?” Kaile said turning to look at them.
“Um yeah.” He said looking really uncomfortable as he listened.
“Hey.” Mac said moving over beside them grinning.
“Hey Mac.” Danny said looking nervously down at Lindsay as Mac turned to the screens watching. At the end of the video everyone clapped and more than a few of the girls had tears in their eyes. “How did ya tape dat?” Danny asked Flack.
“Adam was standing behind you wit a video camera.” Don said smiling.
“Lindsay, my favorite part is what you said at the end.” Angel said walking over to hug her.
“I talked for how long and ya favorite part is the 5 seconds Montana talks?” Danny asked smiling.
“Montana’s yours, do you really need to hear any more than that?” Angel said sniffling.
“No.” He said smiling at Lindsay.
“Ok people shows over let’s get to work.” Mac yelled and people started moving most of the men shook their heads at Danny a few laughed but most of the woman gave Lindsay a huge knowing smile. “So.” Mac said as I dwindled down to Lindsay, Danny and him.
“Yeah so we were gonna tell ya.” Danny said smiling.
“Well I know, so just be good.” Mac said smiling. “Danny don’t make me talk to you about staring at her, you can stare at her after work.” Mac said and he nodded smiling. “You guys are a good team I won’t separate you unless there’s a problem but I don’t think there will be.”
“There won’t.” Danny said and Lindsay nodded.
“I’m guessing you’re gonna want to go with Lindsay to Montana for Christmas?” He asked smiling.
“Yes I would like to.” Danny said.
“Ok.” Mac said nodding. “But you’re both working Christmas next year.” He said and Lindsay smiled.
“Thanks Mac.” She said.
“Now get to work.” He said smiling and taking off down the hall.
“Hey Montana.” Danny said as they walked towards the elevators.
“Hey Danny?” She said smiling.
“I think we’re gonna hear about dis video a lot.” He said kissing her quickly. “We’re not workin yet.” He said smiling.
“I think you’re right about the video cowboy.” She said smiling. “I’m gonna have to beat the women off of you.”
“Ya think?” He asked and she smacked his arm. “Hey only you, for a long time.” He said hugging her.
“Me too Danny.” She said hugging him tightly.
