chapter 3

For 5months Athena and Brian got to know one another on a more personal basis
and found out things about each other that were somewhat silmiar. Being brian
he wasnt really one for a "close knit family" seeing how he hated his old man
his mother was nothing but a invisible bible thumper and his sister was a wack
job, so to him family values really didnt run on his top 5 list of things to
improve on.

The two of them tried to get together as often as possible with both them, seeing as how he had a life and she did aswell. They would meet for coffee, the ocassional dinner and sometimes he would call her to make sure that she was ok, and she did the same. They had distance and respected each others lifestyle. Who would have thought, Jack had two gay children and yet he hadnt met one, sooner or later he would.

Sitting in her car outside of her birth-father's house, she pondered going inside and meeting the man who had ruined her and her mother's life. She gathered all of her courage and got out her car and deep breathed in the smoky air. Her nervousness was taking over her and she couldnt be this nervous in her entire life. The beat of her heart was deafing her ears and now she was having trouble breathing, her breaths were raspy and short. Gripping on the top of her car, she placed her forehead to the metal and waited until she could get control back.

Brian.

Maybe he could...no. she wasn't going to bother this man, on the little thing as meeting her birth-father. But something inside of her told her that she didnt have to do this alone anymore, she had met him and yet the only thing that stopped her from the full intent on letting him in, was the basic blood test. if his father was hers, then it would be simple now, but until she shouldn't intruded on his life and wait until facts were placed infront of her.

Going through a panic attack, she hadnt noticed the sight buzz of her celluar going off againsted her thigh, all past thoughts and insecures faded as moved her coat aside and picked up her phone.

Athena:Um..hello
Tom:I guess you havent gone in yet, huh?
Athena: I can't.
Tom: Hun,
Athena: im outside, freaking out about meeting some man that claims to be the father i never had, why should i even bother. i have 4siblings and i dont know if i really want another one.
Tom: sounds harsh.
Athena: Nothing againsted brian, but i cant. i (sigh) just can't. i rather be a bastard child then having to go through this, its too much for me.
