Chapter 3

They’re not even half way home when Lucas’ phone rings. He answers it, throwing Chris a warning look when the older boy leans over and slides his hand between Lucas’ legs.

“Hi mom.” Lucas answers, his voice hitching slightly as Chris’ hand gently rubs against his crotch. “Uh, yeah, I’m on my way home.”

Chris doesn’t like the way the conversation is going. He’s not going to let Lucas go without a fight.

Lucas almost drops the phone as Chris unzips his fly. Trying to concentrate on driving and talking to his mother whilst Chris is pulling his cock out is proving to be particularly hard. “No, I’m going to be about fifteen minutes.” Lucas bites his lip as Chris squeezes his cock, pointedly. “Make that about an hour. Yeah, as soon as I can. Bye.” Hanging up the phone, Lucas finds somewhere to pull over and stop the car. “Are you trying to get us killed?” He asks, not sounding nearly as threatening as he’d like. But Chris is now jerking him off and Lucas is quickly losing all brainpower to a greater cause.

“You promised me fucking, remember?” Chris smirks, speeding up his hand.

Lucas nods. “Yeah, but…oh God, you’re gonna have stop that if you want…shit…Chris, stop…”

Happy to oblige, Chris stops, letting Lucas regain control of his brain. “Are we fucking or not?”

“My house is closest.” Lucas starts the car, driving that little bit faster now his dick is rock hard.

“Won’t your mom be there?” Chris grins, already picturing her walking in and catching her baby boy ramming his cock into another guy’s ass.

“She’s at work.” Lucas replies flatly, seeing Chris’ twisted mind at work.

“Ah well, there’s always next time.” Chris sighs, his hand moving over his own crotch in anticipation for what’s to come.

*~*~*~*

The backdoor leading to Lucas’ bedroom opens with a bang as the two boys practically fall in, too preoccupied with kissing each other to death to really know where they’re going. Somehow they find the bed, a miracle seeing as neither of them is focused on anything other than each other.

As Lucas lies on his bed with Chris on top of him, he tries desperately to move some of their clothing out of the way, which is made rather difficult by the way Chris is grinding his crotch into Lucas’, their bodies tangled together.

Chris does eventually realise they need to be naked for the next part and helpfully lifts off Lucas long enough to help them both lose their jeans and boxers. Once their shirts are dealt with, they return to devouring each other, rolling around on the small bed with hands groping various parts of their bodies.

“I don’t have lube.” Lucas says, suddenly, stopping the action instantly.

Chris shakes his head, trying to catch his breath. “Doesn’t matter. You can do it without.” He tries to go back to kissing Lucas but the younger boy isn’t having any of it.

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“You won’t.” He promises. “Chris Keller is way too horny to care.”

“That isn’t sexy, you know.” Lucas tells him, rolling Chris over to get on top. “Third person is never sexy.”

Chris just smirks at him. “Chris Keller’s hurt. Don’t you love him just the way he is?”

“Now you’re just being annoying.” Lucas leans down and silences him with another kiss, shifting in between Chris’ legs. He brings his fingers up to Chris’ mouth, gently touching his lips before Chris takes them into his mouth, sucking on them obscenely. Lucas thinks he may just come right now. “Are you sure this is going to be enough?”

Chris lets Lucas pull the fingers away and grins. “I can take it, I’ve had worse.”

Puzzled by the comment, but too preoccupied to pick him up on it, Lucas quickly slides a finger inside Chris, gently stretching him in preparation for his cock. “Does that feel okay?”

“You’re such a worrier.” Chris teases, bucking his hips slightly as Lucas adds another finger. “You’re not gonna break me, just fuck me!”

“You must love pain.” Lucas sighs, pressing a third and forth finger inside, giving Chris less time to adjust. He almost stops himself as Chris winces, but the next few sounds out of his lover’s mouth are more than encouraging so he continues to fuck Chris with his hand. “You ready?”

“God, yes.” Chris moans as Lucas removes his fingers, quickly opening a condom and sliding it over his cock.

He spits in his hand, rubbing it on the pre-lubricated condom, before gently pushing inside, unable to determine whether the cry Chris makes is from pain or pleasure. Probably both. “Fuck, that feels so good.”

”You and me both.” Chris pants. “Harder…just keep fucking me.”

Lucas reluctantly begins to pick up his pace, watching as Chris grabs his own cock and starts bringing himself off. Lucas soon forgets all his worrying and makes good on his promise of a serious fucking. Neither boy can contain them self for long, and no sooner has Chris has shot cum all over his hand and abdomen; Lucas is blowing his own load inside Chris.

“Fuck! Maybe you were right about that not walking thing…” Chris breathes deeply, lying back on the bed.

“I hurt you?” Lucas asks, looking overly concerned.

”Fuck, yeah. And it felt so good!” Chris laughs, pulling Lucas down to lie beside him. “I’m gonna be feeling that for days and I’m gonna love every second of remembering how I got it.”

Lucas smiles, leaning in to kiss Chris’ chest playfully. “I should do that more often then, huh?”

“Sounds good to me.” Chris says, his hand running through Lucas’ hair possessively.

“I have to go see my mom.” Lucas states, suddenly.

“Way to ruin the moment.” Chris complains.

Sitting up, Lucas looks down at Chris with an apologetic smile. “She needs help with her speech. I have to go to see the results announced tomorrow, give her my support.”

“Then maybe I’ll come.” Chris offers, nonchalantly.

Lucas really doesn’t think that’s a good idea. He can just imagine Chris meeting Dan… “It’s not really your thing, I don’t mind going alone.”

“You’re embarrassed about me.” Chris points out, his smile tightening slightly.

“No! I’m not. You can come…if you really want to. It’ll just be boring, that’s all.” Lucas explains, meekly. “I need a shower. You coming?”

“I’ll get one later.” Chris shrugs.

“Okay, but if you want a lift, I’m leaving in ten minutes.” Lucas offers.

Chris sighs as Lucas disappears out of the room and into the bathroom. “Think I’ll walk, thanks all the same.” He mutters to himself.

Chris is already gone when Lucas gets out, which worries him slightly. He knows Chris is never usually one to pass up a shower after a hard fucking, especially when covered in cum. Lucas feels a stab of guilt when he realises that Chris is probably upset with him. He debates on calling, but decides against it because the truth is he doesn’t want Chris there, he knows it’s a recipe for disaster. And not just because of Chris’ habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, Lucas is worried about Dan. His father is always looking for new ways to torment those he should care about and Lucas knows Dan won’t pass up the opportunity to do the same to him and Chris. Sighing with frustration, Lucas dresses quickly and heads back out to his truck, driving over to his mom’s café.

*~*~*~*

After helping his mom all night with her speech, Lucas isn’t too impressed when she uses emotional blackmail to coerce him into opening up the next morning. As well as being tired and annoyed, Lucas still feels bad about Chris. A fact which is playing on his mind when Nathan walks in, looking pleased with himself.

“Hey, how’s it going?” Nathan asks, cheerily, joining Lucas at the counter.

Lucas gives his brother a sideways glance. “I’m still mad with you.”

Nathan already knows what he’s referring to, is expecting it even. He looks sheepishly at Lucas. “I wanted to tell you. You have no idea how badly I wanted to. But I couldn’t risk losing Haley, you have to understand that.”

“I can understand that. But you could have told me.” Lucas accuses, angrily. “I would have let you tell Haley in your own time. Did you really think I’d destroy your marriage? You must have, because otherwise you’d have trusted me with this. I needed to know, Nathan! Do you have any idea how humiliating it is to find out this way?”

“I’m so sorry, Luke, this was never meant to hurt anybody.” Nathan tells him. “When I started seeing Chris, it was solely for…” He looks around, lowering his voice. “It was just sex because I was lonely and angry. Chris was there and it just sorta happened. When you told me about you and him, I warned him to stay away from you. I thought he was using you the way I was using him. But I was wrong.”

“But Haley knows and she’s okay with it.” Lucas points out, hiding a smirk as he remembers what he’d almost walked in on the previous day.

“We talked it over and…” Nathan frowns. “Haley told you she’s okay with it?”

“No, I just saw you two making up.” Lucas feels a small amount of pleasure in seeing Nathan blush at his confession. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you two can work through this, but I’m so mad at you for not saying anything.”

“What about Chris? He’s the one you’re dating!” Nathan argues, feeling guilty and wanting to share the blame with someone.

“He already apologised. Plus, he was under strict orders from you to keep his mouth shut!” Lucas points out.

Nathan sighs, reluctantly. “Okay, this is all my fault, I admit it! I’m the jerk. But it was all for Haley.”

Lucas nods. “I’m going to let you get away with it this time…but only because it was for Haley. But no more lying to me, okay? I would have accepted whatever happened between you and Chris without question if you’d just been honest with me.”

“But you’d have pushed me to tell Haley.” Nathan argues.

“Yeah, I would.” Lucas admits. “But it’s worked out alright anyway. You two are back together. And Chris and I are a couple. Things couldn’t get any better.”

“Lucas, please don’t jinx us. This is Tree Hill, things can and will only get worse.” Nathan predicts, patting his brother on the back.

As if on cue, Dan Scott walks in, a nifty little badge telling everyone to vote for him pinned to his blazer. He barely says hello to Nathan, heading straight for Lucas, sarcastic smile already in place. “I hear you’ve come out of the closet. When’s the big party?”

Lucas glares at him before returning to work, pouring out a coffee for a nearby customer.

“Oh come on, you have to have a party. It’s not every day you find out your son’s a…”

“Dad!” Nathan warns, angrily.

“I was just going to congratulate Lucas on his perfect timing. I couldn’t have planned this better myself. The voters have all heard by now, I expect. Will you be there tonight, Lucas? Maybe you should bring your boyfriend, he has helped me win the election after all.” He smirks, before turning round and walking out.

Lucas hands over the coffee, fixed determination on his face. He doesn’t want his dad to see this bothers him. As soon as Dan’s out of sight, Lucas clenches his fists and looks at Nathan. “I’m taking Chris tonight.”

“No, Lucas, that’s exactly what he wants you to do!” Nathan argues. “And besides, you can’t put Chris in the same room as him…imagine the things that could go wrong!”

Lucas shakes his head. “Like what? Everyone knows about us, it’s not like that’s going to be a big surprise. Other than be obnoxious, he won’t cause too much trouble. I have to do this, Nathan! I need to prove to Dan I don’t care what he thinks. And I think it means a lot to Chris, too.”

“You know Dan’s going to try to prove something.” Nathan warns him.

“Yeah, well Lucas Scott wants to prove he’s not embarrassed.” He stops, frowns…and groans.

Nathan regards him with absolute horror. “Please say you didn’t just start talking like Chris Keller?! Please Lucas…the world does not need another egocentric, third-person speaking, prick like him.”

“Hey, he’s not an prick!” Lucas argues. “Well, sometimes, but he’s not all bad.”

“You’re the one fucking him.” Nathan puts his hands up. “You must see something in him.”

“We don’t just have sex!” Lucas points out, stubbornly. “We’re dating. Or whatever it is Chris Keller does…I don’t think he likes the word ‘dating’. And apparently I’m not the only one who’s had sex him. What did you see in him?”

“You really wanna know?” Nathan asks, not sure it’s a good idea telling Lucas this. When Lucas nods, Nathan shrugs. “I saw someone I could have sex with that would simultaneously get back at Haley and give me the chance to…” Nathan breaks off, awkwardly. “Well, it was sorta payback on Chris too.”

“What’s that supposed to mean? Did you hurt him?” Lucas demands, angry all over again.

“No!” Nathan answers quickly. “It’s complicated. It was just not…nice sex. But he liked it!”

Lucas is beginning to hate hearing about this. He knows he’s the one who asked, but he’s beginning to feel somewhat jealous. And also perversely curious. “You mean rough sex, right? He liked that?”

“Lucas, don’t even go there, okay? I was a jerk to him. He likes you!” Nathan states, mentally kicking himself for being a little too honest. He never seems to be able to get it right.

“Yeah, I know.” Lucas says, not so sure anymore. He can’t help but wonder if maybe Chris does like it rough. Yesterday was bordering on it and Chris definitely seemed to be into that. Lucas knows he’s not good at that kind of thing, which only leads him to think that Chris still has a thing for Nathan. It would certainly explain the constant jokes about it.

“Stop thinking whatever you’re thinking.” Nathan chastises. “I’m just gonna keep my mouth shut from now on. I keep messing things up.”

“No, it’s okay.” Lucas lies. “I’m fine with it. As long as you apologise for treating him like shit.”

Nathan really wants to argue about that because in no uncertain terms does he want to do it. But Lucas looks hurt and Nathan can’t help but give in. “Okay, I will! I’ll say sorry and this can all be forgotten, right?”

Lucas fakes a smile and nods. “You’ll come tonight, right? I could do with the support.”

“Wasn’t planning on it, but…yeah, I’ll be there.” Nathan answers.

“I have a feeling I’m gonna need all the support I can get.” Lucas mutters.

*~*~*~*

Lucas finally calls Chris and begs him to come to the announcement later that evening. Chris doesn’t make it easy on him, being his usual flippant and smart-mouthed self, trying to make out like he doesn’t care if Lucas wants him there or not. But after half an hour of Lucas begging, he does eventually give in.

“Great party.” Chris comments flatly, as they walk in, looking very out of place in a room full of stuffy adults.

“You wanted to come!” Lucas points out, dragging him across the room and away from the crowd, Nathan following close behind.

“Lets just do the rounds and get going.” Nathan suggests. “I don’t want to be here.”

“No one invited you.” Chris points out.

Lucas casts a warning look at both of them. “We’re doing this to prove we have nothing to hide. And to support my mom. If either of you wants to leave, no one’s stopping you.”

“Nah, I’m here for you babe.” Chris throws his arm around Lucas and kisses his forehead.

“Lucas!” I’m so glad you’re here.” Karen rushes over. “And you brought…Chris…”

“Mom.” Lucas warns, quietly.

Karen composes herself and smiles at the young man. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Chris nods in reply, looking rather bored.

Slightly thrown, Karen turns her attention to Nathan. “Are you here to support your father?”

“Not exactly. Just here for Luke, mostly. If anything, I hope you win. The last thing Tree Hill needs is Dan Scott for a mayor.” Nathan tells her.

Karen can’t help but smile. “Your mom’s out back if you want to see her.”

“Later.” Nathan nods. “Just gonna stick around in case Dan starts causing trouble.” He looks over at Lucas and Chris who are talking amongst themselves and struggling to control their hands. “Do you two mind?”

Karen doesn’t dare look. “I have to go, they’re announcing the results soon.”

“Good luck, mom!” Lucas calls after her.

She smiles, appreciatively, before leaving the boys alone.

“So, who are we cheering for?” Chris asks, not in the slightest bit interested.

“My mom.” Lucas answers. “Dan’s the one we need to watch out for.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” Chris jokes.

Nathan and Lucas just exchange looks; both knowing Chris is no match for their father, but no idea how to explain it to him.

“Okay, I’ll just stand here and look pretty.” Chris mutters, mistaking their look for an insult to his ability to protect much of anything.

Before long, the results are announced and neither Lucas nor Nathan can find it in themselves to be happy for the victor.

Dan Scott flashes his smile to everyone, waving and thanking people with fake appreciation. Once he’s done with the pleasantries, he heads over to see his sons, looking rather pleased with himself. “Nathan! Great to see you here!”

“Congratulations.” Nathan doesn’t really mean it, but he says it anyway out of habit.

“Thank you, son.” Dan grabs the back of Nathan’s neck affectionately. “Means a lot to me.”

“Sure it does.” Nathan remarks, moving away.

Dan’s eyes finally land on Lucas and Chris. “Hello Lucas. Why don’t you introduce me to your…boyfriend, is it?” Dan baits, enjoying the look of awkwardness on his older son’s face.

“Chris Keller…Dan Scott.” Lucas says, quickly. “We have to go.”

Dan extends his hand to Chris, amused when the young man shakes it. “Not much of a handshake there, but I suppose that’s to be expected.”

Chris laughs, loving the insinuation. “Oh yes, when it comes to hands, what we musicians lack in strength, we make up for in…”

”Chris!” Lucas interrupts.

“I was going to say talent.” Chris smirks, winking at him. “Mr. Scott…may I call you Dan?” He doesn’t wait for an answer. “Congratulations on winning the election. I didn’t vote for you myself, I have better things to do with my time, but I’m sure you’ll do a fine job of living in a big house and cutting the occasional ribbon.”

Dan is no longer amused. But he forces a smile in front of everyone. “Thank you.”

“Chris, lets go.” Lucas urges, throwing Nathan a ‘plea for help’ expression.

“Is it at all egotistical of me to want to add another Scott to the collection?” Chris muses, looking Dan over.

Lucas groans, wishing he’d had the sense to keep Chris away from his father. He should have known.

Dan frowns at the strange young man, before casting a look at Lucas who is trying to hide his embarrassment, and Nathan who is glaring furiously at the musician. “Nice to meet you.” Dan says finally, not sounding at all sincere.

Chris gives him a fake smile. “The pleasure is all mine. But then, it usually is.”

Dan walks away, looking very confused.

“Why did you have to say that?” Lucas demands.

“What? He has no idea what I meant by it. And I wasn’t serious, I have standards you know.” Chris wonders off to find something to eat, leaving the Scott boys alone.

”What planet is he on?” Nathan asks, incredulously.

Lucas shakes his head. “This was a mistake.”

“You’d better be careful, Luke.” Nathan warns. “If Dan wants to cause trouble for you, he will. Are you sure Chris is worth all that?”

Lucas looks over at the buffet table, where Chris is trying things and putting them back half-eaten. He can’t help but smile. “Would you believe me if I said yes?”

Nathan laughs as an old lady swats Chris with her handbag. “Believe you? Maybe. Understand you? Never.”

“You still haven’t apologised to him.” Lucas points out, looking at Nathan.

Sighing reluctantly, Nathan nods. “I’ll do it, I swear! What about you? The stuff I said earlier, you’re not still thinking about it are you?”

Lucas shrugs. “I don’t know, maybe.”

“If I have to apologise to him, then you have to talk to him about this. He’ll tell you the same thing as me. It was stupid and meaningless and he’s much better off with you.” Nathan reassures him.

Lucas smiles weakly as Chris returns. “Pissing people off already?”

“What are you talking about? People love me!” Chris grins. Then he notices an atmosphere between the two brothers. “What I miss?”

“Just…talk.” Lucas answers, cryptically.

“About me?” Chris smirks. “You’re comparing notes, right?”

Nathan looks awkwardly at his feet.

“We should get going.” Lucas says, quietly. “I’ll go say goodbye to my mom.” He walks off without another word, leaving Chris utterly confused.

“What I say?”
