Violet

'Chloe, how much do you know about Mina Blackwood?' Clark asks, walking into the Torch office. Chloe looks up from her computer and says. 'Well, hello to you too. Why do you want to know about Mina Blackwood?' Clark blushes then replies, trying to hide his growing infatuation with the young vampire. 'She's in some of my classes.' Chloe's eyes narrow in thought and she asks if there's anything worth adding to the Wall of Weird about her then out of an instinctive compulsion to protect her he vehemently says no then Chloe asks, seeing the expression on his face. 'Wait, do you have a crush on Wilhemina Blackwood?' Clark looks away, not wanting to tell his friend that despite them having never officially met that he thought he might be falling in love with her then she says. 'I can see why, she's cute. I'm a little surprised but it's good to see you're over Lana.' Clark keeps blushing then Chloe says. 'Anyway, Mina's friends with Lex so maybe you could talk to him... Or maybe you could talk to her.' Clark glares at her sarcastically then thanks her and leaves.
Metropolis
Clark ventures to the meat packing district like Lex had suggested in search of a club owned by Mina's older brother Elliott. As he walks down the alley he sees a young, beautiful couple enter the club. Clark follows them in and looks around at the decadent dark wood and red brocade chairs and couches and the red velvet draped everywhere. At the bar, a video from Queen of the Damned plays on a small screen while on the red velvet and copper sofa in the corner a young man sucks on a girl's neck as another girl sucks on his shoulder. Not too far from them is the stage where lo and behold, he finds Mina singing Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Christine" looking vastly different to how he normally sees her.
Instead of covering almost everything, Mina is dressed in a black satin bustier with matching gloves, a deep purple fishtail skirt and a Victorian cameo choker. Clark returns his focus to the three on the sofa. The young man lifts his head from the girl's neck to reveal bite marks with blood trickling from them. He glances at Clark for a moment with blood red eyes as he stares then pushes the other girl off his shoulder and biting into her neck, Clark catching a glimpse of two razor sharp fangs and elongated canines as they sink into the girl's porcelain white neck.
Confused and a little frightened he looks back up at Mina as she sings Collide's "Crushed".
Soon the set ends and Mina gets off the stage and walks over to the bar, asking the bartender for a glass of lambrusco as she stares at Clark. He looks back at her and she says. 'Well, you're certainly becoming very ubiquitous these days Clark.' Nervously he replies as Mina slips past him, leaning into his neck. 'Lex told me you would be here.' Mina tilts her head to the side a little, raising an eyebrow and asks. 'Did he?' Clark sighs as she leans in, staring him straight in the eye then she brushes past him and beckons him to follow her into another room.
He didn't know whether she was being incredibly cruel or incredibly sexy but at that moment he didn't care. All he knew was that somehow she was drawing him further into his infatuation with her. She opens up a set of double doors then as they both enter she asks, drinking him in with her dark blue eyes. 'What are you doing here? This is a private club.'
'Like I said, Lex said you would be here. I...' He pauses then asks, changing the subject. 'What did I just see out there?' Mina turns her head, looking behind her and asks.
'What did you think you saw? You know, you're playing a very dangerous game being here.' He notices two small but razor sharp fangs as he watches her mouth move then asks with trepidation. 'You're not human, are you?' Mina shakes her head and he asks.
'Then what are you?' Mina smirks and replies simply.
'Given what you saw before and what you're just noticing about me, I thought that would be obvious. I suppose you're going to run scared now. Wouldn't want me or anyone else attacking your perfect little neck.' Clark sighs as Mina disappears and reappears behind him, running her fingertips down his neck in an attempt to both flirt and scare him out of the club. He turns his head to look at her and asks how she did what she did. 'We move faster than humans. And you it seems. You should go.' He nods then she says before he leaves.
'If you really want to talk to me and I suspect my actions here haven't swayed you, do it at school on Monday, not here. You're not safe. Even if they don't know you're not human. I hear there's an English assignment we need a partner for.' Clark smiles faintly and walks out.
Two days later.
After searching almost everywhere, Clark finds Mina in the art room working on one of her final pieces for art while listening to A Perfect Circle's "Weak and Powerless". Sensing his presence as he watches her paint, Mina says. 'Clark, you don't have to stand in the doorway.' He walks in and he says. 'A singer and a painter? Talk about multi-talented.' Mina bites her lip gently and says, cleaning her paintbrush. 'I also play violin and speak five different languages. Among my many other talents. Well, let me put all this away and then we can go.' Clark nods and helps her put everything away then they go to the library.
After a while focusing on school work, Clark asks. 'If you're a vampire and those others near the stage were vampires, why were they drinking each other's blood?' Mina sighs then replies, changing her purple tinted sunglasses for her reading glasses. 'Because my brother has a blood fetish... He also seems to like threesomes but that's neither here nor there.' He then asks if vampires are immortal and she replies. 'I don't know, I don't exactly go testing it. I suppose we are. I'm surprised you're taking this so well. I could have killed you if I wanted to.'
'I didn't get the feeling you wanted to though. At least I don't think I did. I wasn't sure.' Mina smirks and shakes her head then replies. 'I didn't. I thought I could scare you away from there.' They get back to work then Mina says, Clark's emotions becoming as subtle as a house brick. 'Clark, you and I barely know each other. And while I can't say I'm not flattered or I don't feel the same way. You've had a very rough few months and you don't need another complicated relationship. How about we try being friends, huh?' Clark asks how she knew how he felt. 'It's all over you, it was the other night at the club. I didn't know whether you were going to kiss me or run screaming.
