Chapter Three
Chapter Three
Stargate Command, One Day later:
Major Carter had only cast a glance over at the sleeping Martouf before quietly leaving the bed and dressing. She glanced behind her quickly before leaving her one base quarters. Closing the door behind her she glanced at her watch and only slight swore, she was supposed to meet the colonel an hour ago, and it was already 8:30 in the morning.
Shaking her head she quickly made her way towards the commissary and grabbed a cup of coffee before heading towards the Colonels quarters. When she reached his quarters she was already half finished with her coffee before she knocked on his door. She had turned her back to the door when it opened behind her.
Turning she smiled slightly at seeing the Colonel, however, that smile disappeared when she saw the look on his face.
“Major, you were supposed to meet an hour ago” The colonel sighs slightly before motioning for her to enter. The colonel glanced down the hall before closing the door behind her.
Two Hours later:
Major Carter quietly exited the colonel’s quarters she turned quickly turned back towards her and Martouf’s quarters. She enters quietly to see that Martouf wasn’t asleep anymore. Checking the room quietly she dropped the few things she had picked up on the way back before checking the time.
Realizing that she had to be at a briefing in less than an hour she quickly, searched the closet for her uniform. Finding it she quickly slipped it on, closing the closet door she quietly walked back over to the bed and grabbed her Beretta M9 92 FS holstering it to just below her waist. She quietly set about looking for her other pistol before finding it, glancing behind her; she quickly slipped it under the bottom of her pants before turning and leaving.
Major Carter quietly left her room and locked the door behind her, and turned walking towards the conference room. She had almost arrived when she heard Hammond call for her again. Rolling her eyes she started to climb the stairs when she heard her phone going off. Turning her cell off she reached the top of the stairs to see everyone sitting there looking bored. Shaking her head she entered and cleared her throat.
General Hammond glanced up in slight frustration at Major Carter being late. He quietly motioned for her to sit before announcing her promotion to the whole group.
“Colonel, Major, Daniel. I’m happy to say that one of you will be receiving a promotion before this briefing continues.” Hammond reaches behind him before bringing his hand back in front. “Major Carter, despite there complaining of Colonel O’Neill here, you are receiving a promotion to Lt. Colonel. I expect the same duties from you and more than what you did as a Major.”
Carter looked at him in shock before nodding her head, and taking the small box that he held out to her. Colonel O’Neill glared at her before he glanced back at Hammond for him to continue.
“However, I also have another announcement. Lt. Colonel Carter, Colonel O’Neill is being relieved of his position as Colonel and placed on permanent leave from the team; SG-1 is yours to command. As such, I am assigning two new members. Because of her knowledge of the Goa’uld Qetesh, and the help she gave to Daniel more than once Vala Mal Doran has been given the rank of S-4 and assigned to SG-1.”
Hammond paused before he continued. “Further more, I have resigned, and after today Colonel O’Neill is promoted to Brigadier General O’Neill. In this turn of events I have requested a new person to be brought to the SGC. However, in light of this, Martouf has been assigned as the Tok’ra Liaison to SG-1. You are all dismissed”
OOC: This fic is based in Season 7, I have brought Vala Mal Doran in Early and for this fic left Martouf alive, and O’Neill still in Command of SG-1. Plus I have promoted Major Carter at the end of this chapter to Lt. Colonel Carter. Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell will be brought in, in a later chapter and will be contending for Samantha Carter/Ayanna’s affections.
