Chapter 2

Chapter 2
A figure stood alone in the dark conference room staring out the window. He stood waiting for his subordinate to come in and tell him the progress of the latest project. The subordinate entered and quickly shut the door.
'Report our progress." The Leader spoke sternly, not bothering to tear his gaze away from the window.
"The woman is dead." He said shakily. He didn't want to upset his master.
"Permanantly ?"
"Of course." The small one said with spite. The leader turned quickly and raised his hand to shoot down the smaller one but opted to return his eyes to the window.
"That is what you said last time. We all know how that turned out. " The leader spoke with disgust.
"Sir we do have another problem though."
"What now?!" He cired out in frustration.
"Some poeple are poking around."
"Thats to be expected, dummy! Who and how many?" the smaller, much afraid creature coward into the corner to afriad to speak. "Who and how many?!" the leader demanded.
"Three. Grissom, Sidle and Sanders." the leader began to laugh.
"We need not worry ourselves with them. They don't associate themselves with Him." He laughed again and dissmissed the servant. "No worries at all."
Sara was in the layout room of the lab when she spotted something she hadn't seen before. In one of the pictures there was a sign above the head of the girl attached to the cross. Greg came in to see if she needed any help. She nodded.
"In one of the pictures you took there was a sign above her head."
"I know I noticed that and remembered that in the bible. They said that Chirst had a sign above his head saying something like king of the jews or something."
"Yeah your right."
"Bonus."
"You stole my word!" Grissom walked in at that moment.
"You got me saying it."
"Ok kids. Dont make me seperate you two." Sara and Greg looked surprised that Griss was actually taking a part in the joking around. "What do you have Sara?"
"There was a sign above the girl's head and I was trying to figure out if I knew what it said. Here take a look. Maybe you can get it." Grissom grabbed the picture brushing his fingers with hers and looked at it for a moment. He slowly turned and walked out of the room. As soon as he was out of earshot Greg spoke to Sara.
"And you like him why?" Sara laughed and patted greg on the back.
"I was gonna go see The Coroner about the body. Wanna come with?" Greg shook his head.
"I think I will stay here and take a look at these pictures. Different set of eyes, you know." Sara nodded and left. She didn't have a hard time finding the morgue and wasted not time walking in. When she did she found Doc Robbins haunched over the body examining it.
"Don't tell me that Grissom is that anal about this case that he dragged you here too?"
"No. We were on vacation together. Fishing is good up here. Well he got the call and wanted my help. Since I was already here figured why not. I take it you have already seen her. It is a shame you know."
"Yeah." She wanted to say more but was afraid to, she wanted to stay detached. Her voice betrayed her and they both knew it.
"Ok now I took prints from the body, sent them rush to the lab so you should be getting a page when they come back."
Sara asked Doc if he had seen Grissom.
"I saw him go to the library. Mumbled something about a sign." Sara nodded.
"There was sign above the head attached to the cross."
"That would explain the large puncture wounds in her wrist and ankles. I was begining to wonder." At that moment Grissom burst into the morgue and grabbed Sara by the hand pulling her away. Her whole arm felt like it was on fire.
"What on earth are you doing Griss?"
"We are going to see Katie's parents." he said matter of factly. Evidently he was on a first name basis with the Vic now.
"Her . . Name is K . .Katie?" She couldnt understand why she was stuttering.
Collins stood across the street from the victims house waiting on Grissom and Sidle. she assumed that this nieghborhood was relatively quiet considering half the police department lived here.
Upon hearing that they got the name through AFIS, Collins knew that it was Katie. The girl they had been searching for. The search went on for about three days. she had hoped that this case wasnt related to Katie's in any way.
Grissom came around the corner and parked quickly . He wasted no time getting out and walking with Sara over to Collins. Donna had pointed to the house and motioned for them to follow. Donna knocked on the door and a worn out man had answered.
"Yes?"
"Sir. I'm officer Collins, this is Dr. Grissom and Sara Sidle From the Las Vageas Crime Lab. We are here about Katie."
