“We need to talk about this!” Daniel said as they drove at top speed towards Cheyenne Mountain.

“Later” Becca replied as she was deciphering the coded message that had been sent to their PDA’s. Lifting her head long enough to look at him she said, “I didn’t even know you had feelings for me, I need to process this. Also, from the looks of this message we have a bitch of a mission ahead of us. I promise we’ll sit down and talk this out as soon as we get back okay.”

“Not really, but what choice do I have?” came his reply.

Daniel parked the car and they headed to the security checkpoint at the entrance.

The Airman on duty checked their ID’s; “General O’Neill has requested that you both report directly to the briefing room before changing.”

“Thank you, Airman.” Said Daniel, and they headed towards the elevator.

Already in the briefing room were Sam, Teal’c, General O’Neill, and to their surprise, Brey’Tak and Teal’cs son Ryak. Becca and Daniel took the remaining available seats.

“Go ahead” Jack nodded to Brey’Tak.

“Very well, as you are aware Rayek and I have spent the last few months searching for Jaffa brothers and sisters sympathetic to our cause. This mission has taken us to many worlds that continue to be under the control of the Goa’uld, yet are not among the most heavily guarded. Because we endeavor to blend in, or to not be seen at all we have been taking less traveled routes, and moving through areas that are not heavily populated. On our most recent journey we came upon a temple which did not seem designed for Goa’uld worship. Upon entering the temple and going to the furthest accessible chamber, we discovered a wall, divided into four sections each with carvings in a different language. These languages included Goa’uld, Ancient, Askard and what we believe may be an ancient dialect of the Tauri.”

“Were you able to document any of the writings?” Daniel interjected.

“Yes Dr. Jackson we were able to decipher parts but it appears to be some kind of riddle or code. My young apprentice and I decided that you would be the best person to unlock the secrets of the Temple.”

Under the table Becca and Daniel were both rubbing their hands together practically chomping at the bit to get at that wall.

Jack looked at the pair of them and cleared his throat to suppress a laugh. “Daniel, Sam, Teal’k, you leave with SG-13 as back up at 24:00 hours,” seeing the look on Becca’s face, the look of someone who’s pet has just been killed he did laugh this time. “Don’ worry kid, you’re going with.”

She let out the breath she’d been holding and sprang out of her seat headed for her lab, a list of reference materials already forming in her head, and Daniel hot on her heels. “Becca, pow wow, your lab or mine?” he asked. “Mine” she replied, “it’s closer and I have all your things catalogued on my computer.”
