Chapter 3
Once they where in Grissom's office, Jeri and Greg sat down in front of his desk. Jeri was rather nervous, scared that she was in alot of trouble.
"Why did you run away Ms. Felton?," Grissom asked calmly, trying to keep her from spazzing out.
"Well, sir, it would be easier if I showed you," she replied steadily, getting up and closing the blinds and locking the door.
Slowly she turned to the two men and pulled her top off, and what they saw made them gasp.
Crisscrossing her body were many gashes, some deep, some healed, some fresh. On her right arm there was a design burned into her arm.
"All this was done by my boyfriend, mark. I was used by him and his friends as a slave, for whatever they wanted. If I fought back or said no, I was.... punished," she explained looking down.
She slowly removed her pants, showing equal treatment to her legs. Looking at the two, she held her head high, knowing in her heart what happened to her was not her fault, but the fault of the terrible people she served for so long.
Greg took one look and started shaking in anger. They had talked on the way here, laughed and joked, and he had grown fond of her. How dare someone do this to her!
"I do not wish to press charges," Jeri said slowly. "But I do want protection," she added as she dressed, looking Grissom dead in the eyes.
Grissom nodded and motioned for Greg to take Jeri out of the room while he made arrangements. Greg smiled at her, pushing down his firey anger, showing her his gentle side.
"Lets go grab a bite to eat Jeri, Grissom may take a bit," he said nervously.
"I would love to Mr. Sanders," Jeri replied, a light blush creeping up her neck and into her cheeks.
"Call me Greg," he told her, smiling broadly.
As they walked out to his car and then drove to the diner, Greg animatedly talked about his coworkers, telling her what each one was like and how they appeared. She smiled, happy to have someone around she could talk to. Yes, she thought, this is going to start the better part of my life.
