“Gil you have to go; besides I requested bugs in your meal.”
“Catherine I told you I hate these functions.”
“Come on Gil, please. If you don’t go my ass is grass.”
“I guess that is your problem.”
“Gil.”
“Catherine, I hate these functions.”
“I know, but this one will be different, I promise.”
“It better be.”
“SO you will go?”
“For a little while yes. Don’t expect me to stay all night.”
“Thanks Gil. Wow, is it hot in here?” Catherine was fanning her face.
“No, why?”
“I’m really warm all of a sudden.” She turned to walk back to her office.
Stepping inside she turned on the air conditioner.
What has come over me? Why am I so warm?
Warrick was in her doorway again.
“Hey boss lady, what’s happening?”
“Nothing much. I convinced Gil to go, tried the food, by the way it is amazing.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes really.” She stepped closer.
“Catherine.”
“What?” She said as her lips grazed his.
“What are we doing?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well are you trying to seduce me? In your office. At work.”
Catherine shook her head. “I guess I am.” She stepped back. “I’m sorry; I don’t know what came over me.”
“Neither do I but you could pick a better place that here at work. That would be bad for you.”
“I didn’t even realize I was doing it. I got so warm I turned on the Air Conditioner and then you showed up. I am really sorry.”
“It’s alright, really.” Warrick was grinning.
“Why don’t you come over after shift?” Catherine purred in his ear.
“Are you serious?”
“Very.” She grabbed his shirt and pulled him close again. “What do you say?”
“What about Lindsay?”
“She is away at school, she won’t be a problem.”
“If you want me to, I will, Catherine.”
“Good.” She slapped his rear. “I’ll see you then.”
What the hell has gotten into her? Warrick thought to himself as he walked away.
