"The Never Ending Call"

Roy was right, in that their captures didn't really bother them, and as Johnny had observed previously, that when the one does come in, they only cracked the door, looked in and shut it again, so Roy laid out the silk in such a manner that it would be hidden by the door should it be opened.

Johnny was still trying to come to grips with the idea of having to jump out of a plane, a he listened to what was being said. He had learned that the blond was called Alex and the pilot was Rico. But most important was that Ray had some sense of compassion as he stopped Tony from paying them a visit, stating "Those poor bastards have enough on their minds without your shit."

Roy had the chute packed and ready in about twenty thirty minutes, he didn't really look at his watch as he did it. He was concentrating on all he could recall from his time in Vietnam. He had placed the back out of site just as Johnny shifted back to his spot, signaling Roy to do the same. Once more Mario checked in, "They're fine, probably crying like babies," he laughed as he closed the door again.

"Is it going to take as long to do the other one," Johnny asked, resigned to the moment. Seeing Roy hesitate did not bold well with the bit of courage he was mustering. "Ah…Roy?"

"There's only one."

"What, I didn't hear you," Johnny asked, not sure he heard right.

Roy sighed, "There is only one parachute."

"Oh, great," he laughed, finding it perversely funny.

"It'll be okay, we can both use it. I have it figured out," Roy informed him, this time, placing a comforting hand on Johnny's shoulder. "Honest, Junior, this will work."

Johnny looked at his long time friend and partner and nodded, for he trusted Roy with his life and now he was going to prove it. "Okay, okay. What's the plan?"

"Since I know how to operate it, I'll wear the chute. You'll be tied to me, but you'll mainly going to have to hold tight…just don't choke me," he grinned. "We'll place the life raft between us, also connected to the rope. They never bothered taking our side pack, so I'll be able to cut the rope…"

"Cut the rope," Johnny asked, fear sneaking in again.

"It'll be okay, Junior. But we both can't hit the water together, it'll drag us both down and I have to release the chute or I might get tangled in it. But before we get to the water, you'll release the raft and them you'll jump in. I'll release the chute and follow. We climb in the raft and…"

"And…?"

Roy sighed, "survive for another day," he shrugged.

Johnny nodded, "Okay, Okay, when are we going to do this?"

Roy shifted and looked out the window and saw water. "I guess now is as good as any," he said, grabbing the gage that indicated when it was good to jump and hoped it was working right. He pointed to the item, "He's flexing between here and here, but he does go up from time to time. It would be best to wait until he's higher to give us more time to maneuver."

Johnny scoffed, "don't look at me, I'm still convincing myself this is a warped dream and any minute now Chet's going to wake me up shouting he got me."

Roy reached up and without thinking rubbed Johnny's neck with his left hand; something he's been doing for a while that he didn't know was sending shivers up Johnny's spine. "It'll be okay, Junior. So long as we stick together, we'll make it."

This time John didn't mind Roy touching him, he needed badly. He nodded, "you've always been there for me, you know I'll always be there for you, Pally," he smiled, knowing he almost slipped and called him ; th; that which he called him in his dreams.

"Okay, let's get ready," Roy instructed. "We'll have to arrange it so we can move fast for it takes a few minutes to get that chute on and off," he commented, as he nodded for Johnny to keep post again, as Roy gathered the few items they will need. He noticed that Johnny had gone pale, and was proud of his partner, for he could see that Johnny was terrified, but doing his part. "Once we're ready we'll open the hatch. That's going to decompression the plane and it's gong to shift it. Hopefully it'll shift us out making it easier on both of us," he commented.

"And if it doesn't," Johnny asked, knowing his luck at times.

"Then we work together to get the hell out of doge, Junior," he grinned, as he started placing on the chute, with Johnny's help. Once he was ready he gathered the rope and the square raft and secured it, as well as the rest of the items on his person, since he'll need them later. Then he stepped to the hatch that would lead hopefully to their freedom. "Okay, Junior, time to get up close and personal," he quipped, trying not to think about having Johnny in his arms or wrapped around his body…even if it was a thousand or so feet up on the air.

Johnny gave a listen once more and then moved in front of Roy and took a deep breath. "For what it's worth, I'm glad I'm here with you too," he said, then stepped nose to nose with Roy, and did his best to block out the capable hands tying them together, only the raft between them.

"Ready?"

Johnny swallowed hard, as he felt his knees starting to go weak and had he not already gone over the options a million times already, he might have tried to delay, but that would not change anything. "Yeah, I guess."

Roy saw the fear and the sweat. If Johnny lost it now, it could go bad. "Junior, are you with me?"

Johnny nodded, "Don't worry, this is just like any other assignment, like those cliffhangers we've done before; we're together, we're secure…um…"

Roy saw that Johnny was using logic to keep himself going and smiled, "And we're going to be fine," he said as he started working the hatch. "Get your side. Now remember, once it's open, just hang on to me, okay?"

"Okay," was all Johnny could say at this point as he forced himself to work the latches.

Johnny groaned as he heard it, but there was nothing they could do about it, no turning back. "Someone is coming," he gasped as they just about had the last latch.

"What the fuck, they're escaping," Mario shouted out just at Roy got the door open.

Johnny had been right, the plan lurched the opposite direction and didn't knock them out but back, their combined weight just enough to forgo the vacuum, which was not as strong had they been at a higher altitude. Chaos ruled that moment, as Mario had been knocked back as well as everyone else, while the pilot fought to gain back control. Roy spotted Tony pulling his gun and trying to make his way toward them and started to fight to get him and Johnny out, but his partner was not cooperating. He was forcing them to roll and grabbing at something. //Don't fight me now, partner,// he screamed mentally, as he had to use all his effort to get them moving, as Tony was coming closer.

Suddenly Johnny was with him again and they rolled to the hatch way and just standing as a shot was fire and the plane arched again, tossing out the two men out of the plane. They were falling and Roy did his best to roll, so Johnny could get a better grip, but he seemed sluggish at first, then Roy felt better when he felt the death grip around his body. He had to admit, this was not what he had envisioned when he pictured Johnny wrapping his body around his, but it wasn't bad either.

He looked at the gage as best he could, which was difficult with an arm full of Gage, who was at least not screaming his head off as Roy might have imagined. According to the thing they were falling fast. He had to release the chute. He moved his hand to do so, and Johnny started to choke him. "Ease up," he shouted as best he could, having to reach up and pull Johnny's arm a bit. "Ease up, sweetheart," he said, totally unaware of what he had said, not knowing that it caused Johnny to pause also, which allowed Roy to breath. He then reached to the cord and pulled…nothing.

"Oh shit," he growled. Hitting the water at this speed still meant death. "Johnny, the emergency cord; you'll have to pull it, for I can't reach it with you," he shouted, but Johnny wasn't moving. "Junior, you got to pull the cord, we're falling too fast," he told his partner, and shifted his head and never saw Johnny looking so pale…he was in shock. "Come on, Junior. You said I could count on you, and I need you now. Please, Johnny, snap out of it," he called out, trying to reach the emergency cord himself, but Johnny's body blocked him. He then hugged Johnny very tightly. "Please, Johnny, please help me," he called out. He looked at the gage and it was rapidly approaching the red zone. "We're not going to make it if you don't help me," he shouted, as the wind rushed passed him.

It was slow, but Johnny started to move. "That's it, Junior. It's to my left, your right." He could feel Johnny move his hand over him, not really letting go, tracing his body as if a map, and at any other time he would have enjoyed it, but right now it was going to slow. "Hurry, Johnny, please," Roy cried out, their time was almost up. Then when he was sure they were going to fail, as Johnny's hand had stopped moving for a moment, they both jerked up wards, as the chute was released and caught upon the wind.

"You did it, Junior," Roy cheered as he hugged his partner tightly. "We're going to be all right now," he added, rubbing Johnny' back. He was still concerned that Johnny didn't respond much. He looked over and saw that Johnny had his eyes closed as he resumed hugging the stuffing out of him. //It's going to be okay, sweetheart,// Roy thought, as he reached up and caressed some of the sweat soaked locks. He was pleased to see Johnny open his eyes and look at him. "It is rather a beautiful view," he grinned down at his partner's beautiful eyes, that looked a bit too dilated for his liking. Another look and he noticed it…blood on his shirt.

"Johnny, can you hear me," Roy asked, even if his partner was looking at him, he looked pale. He reached up and caressed more locks away and saw that Johnny was bleeding from the left side of his head, but until he got a better angle or opportunity, he wouldn't be able to tell if the bullet entered or just grazed. //Please don't let it be serious,// he prayed, as he all he could do was hug Johnny close, seemseemed content to allow him to do so. He looked around, and it was a beautiful view…lots of water for miles around…or was there.

"Johnny, listen…listen, look," he said, knowing he had to keep his partner awake in case there was a concussion. He gently shifted his body, pulling on one of the chute stings and they turned a little. "See, I think that's land. What direction is that in," he asked, for though he could figure it out, hoped, Johnny was the best on direction, outside of street signs.

Roy watched Johnny blink his eyes, trying to focus, "Southwest," he croaked.

"Southwest," Roy laughed, glad to hear Johnny respond. "I need you to stay with me, Junior. We're approaching the water and I'm gong to have to cut the rope and then release the raft; remember?"

"I remember," Johnny replied, but it was sluggish. "Then I swim than you," he added.

"That's right, Junior, that's right," Roy encouraged, knowing he would have to make their separation closer together for he was not sure that Johnny would be able to swim in his currennditndition. He saw the water approaching fast. "Here we go," he said, and gave a slight gasp, as Johnny tightened his legs around his waist, bringing together what he had only dreamed up; feeling Johnny's cock, even limp, was enticing in a strange sort of way. But there was no time to dwell on the moment as he reached into his side kit that held his scissors, pen light and a few other items and grabbed the knife and cut the rope, not wanting it to come off until he wanted it too, since it held his precious Johnny secure to him. Once the rope was lose he replaced the knife and secured it and got the raft. He pulled the string that set it off, and dropped it and watch it open up before it hit the water. He then removed the rope that was around Johnny's belt. "Okay, Junior, get ready to get wet. On the count of ten," he grinned and begun his count down.

"Four…three…two…one," Roy counted off and let go of Johnny who obeyed and let go of Roy and slid down too the water. Roy only waited three seconds before hitting the release on the chute and followed after him.

The sea had looked calm from up on the sky, but it felt alive as he battled it to the surface, looking for his partner. Spotting him, he raced toward him, more than grateful that Johnny was tougher than he looked, and helped him to the raft, which by a blessing from above, landed right side up. Once Johnny was in the raft, he went to get the floating chute, not sure but thought it might come in handy. He pulled it close and then got in the raft himself, then pulled it the rest of the way and bunched it at the far end, before he sat next to Johnny who looked like he was gong to sleep regardless if Roy wanted him too or not. "Come on, partner, we made it," he called out, some relieve in his voice, as he looked over his love, but Johnny was out of it. He examined him and was glad that from what he could tell, the bullet had only grazed Johnny, but it still could have caused a concussion, but out here, there was nothing he could do about it. It got the best cleaning it was going to get in the ocean water and it appeared to have stopped bleeding for the moment. Roy suddenly felt it too; he was exhausted. Knowing that he too would be giving into sleep, he shook out the damp silk and covered them both with it, then he curled Johnny into his arms and said a prayer before closing his eyes, hoping the morning light, as it would be getting dark soon, would bring a miracle.
