CHAPTER 28
“Gil let me help you.” Sara said as they approached the couch.
“Sara, I am fine. I will be all better in a few days.”
“Gil Grissom.” He knew he was in trouble. “Tell me truthfully, how do you feel?”
“Truthfully?”
“Yes.”
“Like hell. It feels like I have the flu.”
“Gil, sweetie. I think we need to take you to the doctor. I’m gonna call and make you an appointment.”
“I’m fine Sara, really.”
“Gil.”
“Sara, I promise if it gets worst I will tell you.”
“You better.”
~~~
The baby cried.
“Gil,” Sara tapped him lightly on the shoulder. “Gil, will you go check on Sam, She is crying.”
No response.
“Gil.” Sara shook him.
He mumbled something and turned back over.
What is wrong with him? Sara thought as she retrieved the baby. Must still be stress from the accident?
Sara sat in the rocking chair in the living room with the baby. What is wrong with Gil? If he doesn’t get better soon I need to get him some help, I can’t lose him, not now. Maybe Doc Robbins would come over. I will call him soon for sure if he doesn’t get better.
Sara was sitting in the chair rocking the baby when Amy came home from school.
“Mom how is dad?”
Amy’s voice brought her out of her trance.” Sleeping.” Sara said.
“Mom, I’m worried about him. I saw this before, with my other dad. He slept a lot when he first got his cancer, before we knew.”
“I’m sure he is fine.” Sara tried to assure Amy. I hope he is fine; I can’t lose him, not now. I need him…Sam needs him…Amy needs him and the little guy in my belly needs him too.
“I hope so.” Amy said sadly.
“Go work on your homework, maybe later we can watch a movie.”
“Will you ask dad to join us?”
“Sure thing.” Sara said as she brushed the stray curl from Amy’s face.
