The Sister They Never Had

Mavi follows Dean with her eyes as he leaves the room. She can tell he is pissed, but its his own damn fault. Sam has really stepped up to the plate and she knows they only care for each other as sibilings should, so she has no risk of getting her heart broken again by falling in love with Sam. He's taken on the protective, caring, older brother role that Dean had held before and he's done a damn good job. The best thing, he lets her do her own thing and doesn't punish her. Dean tried to once last week and Sam had intervened. She smiles to herself.

"I love you Sammy."

Sam blinks, "That was random, but I love you too.", he smiles and kisses the top of her head.

"Pizza should be done."

He pulls his arm from around her and gets up.

Dean steps outside and sits on the bench swing Mavi had insisted they put along the kitchen window. He takes a couple deep breaths before pulling out his cellphone and punching the speed dial number assigned to Bobby.

"Hello Dean.", Bobby answers on the other end of the line.

"Hi Bobby. We are calling, well I guess I should say I'm calling, to see if you have any leads on any possible cases."

"Huh. Sam is usually the one to call me and ask."

"Well, Sam is a bit distracted.", Dean says with an edge to his voice.

"He's not involved with another demon girl is he?!", Bobby asks concen laced in his voice.

"No. He has taken my place as the older brother role because Mavi told me she is in love with me but I chickened out and told her I wasn't in love with her too but I am.", Dean says in a rush.

"You idgit! Everyone can see you two are in love with each other. Everyone but you two anyway."

"Well I really fucked up Bobby, I can't fix it now."

"You may get a chance when the time is right. I do have a case you three could go check out if you are that hell bent on it."

"Sure, lets hear it Bobby."

"There are kids disappearing in Tennessee."

"That is it?"

"Yes, and no it is not a relative of the kids kidnapping them or disgruntled divorced or seperated parents. The newspaper reports thats already been looked into and crossed out as an explaination."

Sam leans out the door to let let Dean know the pizza is done.

"I will run it by them. Thanks Bobby."

"No problem son. Take care."

They hang up and he goes inside to eat.

After dinner, while Sam is washing the dishes, Mavi walks over to Dean and sits next to him on the sofa. He stops himself from doing what has become second nature to him. She was sitting at an angle, her knee brushing against his leg, so it would have been uncomfortable to pull her to him.

"What did Bobby say?", she asks him.

"There are kids disappearing in Tennessee, He's going to email Sam the news article links."

"Not been to Tennessee in a long time so sounds like a working vacation to me.", she laughs softly.

"We are going to Tennessee?", Sam asks as he walks into the room from the kitchen.

"Bobby emailed you the news articles. If it sounds like something you two want to look into then, yes, we are going to Tennessee."

"What part?"

"I don't know. Bobby didn't tell me a town or city."

"You can get my laptop Sammy.", Mavi tells Sam.

Sam gets the laptop from her bedroom they are sharing while Mavi readjusts to sit indian style by Dean leaving the other side open for Sam to sit and he does. She semi hovers over his shoulder as he boots up the laptop. Dean looks and feels the jealousy boiling over but he shoves the feelings back down.

"It seems all fifty of the news articles are centralized around a town called Millington. Some of the news articles are cases they think are linked from several years ago.", Mavi says before Sam can say anything.

"And as I go through the current ones for the past two to three years, there is a child missing roughly ever three months."

Dean whistles.

"Could be a demigod or goddess maybe.", Mavi says.

"It is a possibility."

"If we leave now, we will be there by tomorrow afternoon.", Mavi grins at Sam.

Sam laughs, "So pack up and lets go?"

"Uh huh!"

Mavi jumps off the couch and goes to pack a bag for a few days. Sam nd Dean do the same. They load up the impala and leave for Tennessee.
