ch 25
"Umm, sounds great, but after...right."
"Yeah, after. I..." She stopped, instead bending down to kiss his neck. I need to get a dress. But I can't decide what color.
"Where did you want to go dancing? Any place in particular?"
"We can always decide that later."
"Oh, I just wanted to know if I have to dust off my tux or if a sport jacket would be appropriate."
"In that case, Doc, you better dust off your tux."
I'd feel kinda silly if I was dressed up and you weren't." He pictured Sara in a beautiful gown. It sent shivers to his toes. "Not a problem, but what are you wearing?"
"That's actually on my to do list. Have to get something."
"Oh." He smiled at that thought. "Are you packed yet for Colorado? I need to get a few things like shampoo and stuff." Sara was done massaging. Now she just wanted to hold Grissom. She shifted him so his head was against her chest. "I think you are over dressed for bed, Sara” He said looking at his underwear and then to her clothes.
"Can I help it if I want to cuddle?"
"I guess not." He wrapped his arms around her. "Is this better?"
"Mhm." Twice in a row he's made me feel like an insensitive idiot. Just get over yourself and get into bed with him, Sidle. He wants to be with you.
He kissed her forehead. "You are so beautiful, do you know that." It was a near whisper. Sara gently moved him. She got out of her shirt and her jeans, clad now only in her undershirt and panties. "That's better." He kissed her neck. "I love the feel of your skin."
"Wanna get the kinks out of it while you're there?"
His head perked up, "I thought you wanted a rain check?"
"Well, I realized I need one too."
"Scoot up here, I'll make you feel better. Wanna pass me that lotion?"
"Just for the record, Grissom. You do make me feel good. Better than I have in a long time." Sara reached over for the lotion and passed it to him. She lay down on her stomach and closed her eyes. He didn't quite know what to do with her comment. Must have something to do with her need for validation. He put a dollop of lotion in his hands and rubbed them together to warm it up and began to knead the flesh of Sara's neck. A soft sigh managed to escape her lips. He moved his hands down her back squeezing the flesh on the way down. He leaned in and left kisses where he was massaging, Sara shivered slightly under his caresses. He lifted her shirt up to allow him better access to her bare back.... he placed a few kisses there as he began to rub some lotion into her skin. "Yeah, it's really tight right in there," Sara murmured. He shoved her shirt up near her ears and went to work on getting the tightness out of her back. "Grissom, that feels wonderful," Sara sighed.
"I thought about studying Kinesology, do you think I would have been good?"
"Mmm....." No...then I wouldn't have met you Sara thought.
"What about your legs Sara, want me to do them too?" He moved down and started kneading the flesh of her thighs. He moved further down her legs and began to rub her feet.
"I'm glad you didn't study Kinesology. Wouldn't...have met you." Sara suddenly froze at the realization she had said it aloud.
He perked up, "I guess not."
“Love you."
He crawled back up and cradled her in his arms. "I love you too."
"And Grissom?"
"What?" He said kissing her cheek and playing with her hair.
"I only love you."
He smiled. "Sara, you are going to have to forgive my insecurities, I'm still healing, baby steps right." He was getting choked up. "I'm sorry if I was jealous of Nick, I just thought." Stop babbling. Sara put her arms around him. "I was afraid you had moved on." There I finally said it.
"No."
"Insecurities, right." He looked into her eyes. "How about we agree to be completely honest with each other."
"Sounds good to me."
"So is there anything you want to know?" He was drawing pictures on her belly with his fingers.
"Tell me about your mom."
"Alright." He braced his head on his free hand. "My mom owns an art gallery. She has my whole life. She went deaf when I was six. The same disease I have. They didn't have the technology to fix it forty years ago. She learned ASL and could read lips, she was amazing, never let her handicap slow her down. I wish I had half of her drive and ambition, I would be a better person."
"Grissom, you're an amazing person. Granted, I may be a little biased," Sara said with a smile. "But she did an amazing job raising you."
"Thanks." He kissed he temple. "What about your mom, Sara?"
"I. She didn't always drink. I guess not seeing my dad all the time did it. She was depressed." Sara studied Grissom's face for a moment before showing him the tiny scar behind her right ear. "See that? That's from a beer bottle."
He kissed it. "Sorry."
"Had to go to the emergency room like a dozen times because of her."
"That's awful." He kissed her again. "Where was your dad? Why didn't he stop her?"
"He was too busy with the other women and the whoring to even bother. There was a bitter tone in Sara's voice. She sighed and tried to calm down. "Sorry."
"Its ok, Sara, baby steps." He kissed her again this time with more fervour. "I won't judge."
He pulled her in close to him. "I want you to know that I will never hurt you again, Sara, or let anyone else hurt you."
Sara closed her eyes as Grissom's warmth encircled her. "Will you teach me how to sign?" Sara finally asked, her voice muffled by his chest.
"I’d be happy to."
"Yeah, after. I..." She stopped, instead bending down to kiss his neck. I need to get a dress. But I can't decide what color.
