Caring
Title: Caring
Author: scots_rock
Pairing: Don/Charlie
Fandom: NUMB3RS
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 175
Disclaimer: Not mine. This is fiction.
Feedback: awesome
Author's Notes: Okay, either you can put it straight after Into Dust or after the episode 1x09 “Sniper Zero”. It fits for both. Summary: Don doesn’t want Charlie to get hurt.
Charlie has noticed it a few days ago. He hurt himself, actually, he cut himself with a knife while reaching for it in the drawer. He shouted loudly “Ouch!” because this pain came so sudden and unexpected. The next morning every knife had a transparent plastic cover around the sharp edges.
Then there was the day he stumbled over the bed post. A scratch marks his leg ever since. When he came home that day the post was not sharp any more. The edges were smooth and round, signs of sawdust showed Charlie that the posts had been filed.
Charlie is sitting at the breakfast table and enjoys his peanut butter sandwich when Don enters the room. He greets Charlie shortly and occupies a chair next to his brother. It doesn’t take Charlie long to notice the many plasters on Don’s hands and fingers.
Charlie sips at his tea carefully. He halts. The tea isn’t hot nor is it cold. It’s drink-able. Someone must have played around with the temperature regulator of the electric kettle.
