That Weird Vibe Sortof Thing

Chapter 22 - That Weird Vibe Sortof Thing

Joey awoke on Sunday morning to the sound of Alexander crying. She smashed her head back into her pillows trying to distract herself from the sound but it wasn't
working. She looked at her clock which read ten sharp. For some reason she just didn't want to get up, usually, she'd be up way earlier on a Sunday morning,
working on whatever unfinished homework or project she needed to have done by Monday. But today, she just wanted to lay in her bed, peacefully, and try to take
in everything that happened over the weekend. She wondered what it all meant, she'd kissed a girl, make that two girls. She wondered what was up with Andie and
Jen and if they'd been thinking it all over as much as she'd been since Jen drove her home and dropped her off in silence the day before. (Should I call one of them?)
she thought. Joey russelled inbetween her blankets and got onto her back, more thoughts invaded her head. (Jen's lips were so smooth, and god, seeing Andie get
pleasured by her....Jen's face....just...buried in between her legs, flicking her tounge against....) Joey's thoughts went on like a run on sentence. Before she knew it
she realized she was dry humping the blanket spread between her legs and place her hand into her underwear, sure enough, she was soaked. Instead of doing the
obvious, Joey sprung up out of her bed. (I need to know....I need to know for sure....) She went into the bathroom and shut the door, before long the steam with visible
from underneath the door, she finished her quick shower and got dressed. Rushing out into the kitchen she said bye to Bessie and told her she'd be back..whenever.
Joey made her way down to the docks and got into the boat, she decided to go and talk to her best friend about the situaution, see what he thought of the whole thing.
As she made her way there, she prayed that Jen would be nowhere in sight from next door, seeing as she wasn't ready to talk to her again yet. The boat haulted at
the Leery dock and Joey stepped out walking up to Dawson's lawn. At first she thought she'd just go in through the front door, but for some reason she felt like being
nostaligic and decided to use the ladder instead.

"Hey."

"Uh hey, Joey....wow, didn't expect to see you in the frame of my window this morning..." Dawson smiled warmly and shut off his tv.

"Yeah, I didn't disturb you or anything did I?" her eyes creased.

"Joey how could you ever disturb me, you know you're always welcomed..." he patted the bed for her to sit down.

"Ok, I need to ask you a couple of questions..."

"Like an interview?"

"No more like a, I'm the friend in need of advice type of thing...." Joey turned her hand a few times in the air to stress.

"Umm, mmmk...." Dawson said, his eyebrows narrowed in a bit and he seemed to be a little off on the whole thing.

"Ok first one....have I ever given you a weird vibe while I was around you?"

"Well I mean don't we all give off weird vibes sometimes, yeah, I think on occasion if something is bothering you before you tell me I can sense a weird vibe...kind of
like right now," he said running his hands together.

"Ok, next one...have you thought of Andie, as anything other than a complete heterosexual?" Dawson's eyes widened and he choked on his own spit.

"I uh, don't really think of Andie all that often, she...is straight, as far as I know...ok.." he creased his eyebrows again.

"How about Jen?"

"Jen...I can't really say...she does have that wild past that we all sortof know about but not really, that stereotypical feeling in me is going have to say, I don't know,
she could possibly be something other than straight...Joey what does this all have to do with?" Dawson piped up at the end of his answer.

"Not finished yet....have you ever fantasized about Jen being with another girl...." Joey didn't look at him when she asked.

"WHAT?! Jo-Joey....ok something tells me that yes you may need some advice on something but theses questions don't seem like the logically way of going about
getting it...." Dawson pointed out.

"Can you just answer that....please..."

"But Jo..."

"Come on, Dawson you told me 'usually in the morning with Katie Couric' secret back when we started high school, and now all of sudden you've gotten shy?"
Joey spoke up loudly.

"Alright, alright....you want the truth, yes I have, but it was mostly when her and I were dating..." Dawson breathed out and laid back on his bed.

"Who?"

"What?"

"Who?"

"Who what?"

"Who was the other girl?'

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Dawson, do you think I'd be asking you all t que questions if I didn't have a explanation for them?"

"At this point, I don't know..." he shrugged,

"Will you just trust me, please....who?" she asked begging. Dawson sighed again and his stomach rose way up as he breathed in.

"Jen and....Jen and you." he said quietly exhaling.

"So you have thought about, Jen and me...together...." she asked him trying to stay calm.

"Yes." he said softly.

"O k." Joey breathed out.

"What...ok? What's ok? Joey I don't know what you are trying to ask me here, or tell me or...I just don't know." he said frustrated.

"Dawson, Jen and I kissed." Joey said looking at the ground.

"Yes, in some of the fantasies you two happened to be kissing but....WHAT?" Dawson rewound her words in his head and realized he heard her wrong.

"That's right, and now I'm here asking you all this because I'm trying to figure out what I am, and I thought you being the closest person to me, you could be
the one to tell me if you ever got a vibe from that would make you think I could be something other than straight as you say, or if you could ever see me that way..."

"Joey, let me tell you something, I haven't gotten any vibes you are referring to and you have to realize that I am a male, a semi typical male if you will and I don't
have to see a girl as bi or gay to put her in a re-occuring fantasy with another girl...that's why they call it a fantasy, because it's make it up as you go stuff. But, that's
all besides the point, you coming to me first and telling me, makes me feel like you could trust me with anything and that means alot." Dawson smiled and rolled over
to the edge of the bed where Joey was sitting. Joey then went on to explain to him what happened the night before last, leaving out some details but still revealing enough.
Dawson sat, and listened and sat and listened more, he couldn't believe what he was hearing, little Joey Potter made out with Jen? But throught out it all he was completely
understanding and told Joey not to worry, her secret was safe with him. By the end of the hour long conversation, Joey reached an understanding of herself. She got up and
gave Dawson a hug.

"Thank you...for listening to all that and for helping me with...everything." she leaned in a gave him a little peck on the cheek.

"It's fine Jo, anytime...." he pushed her hair behind her ear and leaned in to whisper something to her. She listened and her eyes widened, she quickly grabbed a rolled
up movie poster that was lying on his floor and hit him on the head with it playfully.

"No you can't add that to your fantasy file!" she snapped at him cutely while sporting a little bit of a smile.

"Ok ok...just asking..." Dawson kidded back.

"I'll see you later...." Joey headed out his window and down the ladder.

"Bye Jo," he called to her laying back down on his bed.

Joey got down to the lawn and starting walking towards the boat, her shoes sunk into the wet ground a bit from the rain the night before. She trugged back onto the
dock and was able to make out a figure sitting on the far edge of it, she got a little closer and realized....it was Jen.
