They awoke later still exhausted from their continuous lovemaking. Sara was relentless when she wanted to be.
“Sara, there is something we need to discuss.”
Oh no! Now what?
“I want to adopt Amy and for you to adopt Sam.” He began. “I know you wanted to change Amy’s last name to Sidle but I would really like it if you would maybe marry me, change it to Grissom and we could do all the paperwork at the same time, what do you say?”
Sara was speechless.
“Sara?”
“What?”
“DO you have an answer?”
“Yes.”
“What is it?”
“Yes, of course. But I will need to discuss this with Amy.”
“Ok. We can call Cath and get her to bring her home.”
Cath showed up half an hour later with Amy. She walked in and sat down. Grissom and Sara were in front of her.
“What did I do now?” Amy snapped.
“Nothing, sweetie.” Sara added. “We just want to discuss something with you.”
“Oh. Ok.”
“Amy.” Grissom began. “Would you mind if Sara and I got married and changed your name to Grissom instead of Sidle?”
“I get a choice?”
“Yes.”
“So then you would be my dad?”
“If you want me to be, yes.”
“What about Sam?”
“Well, Sara will adopt her and that way we will all have the same last name, what do you say?”
She looked to Sara.
“What did mom say?”
“She said yes.”
“Then so do I…dad.”
Grissom smiled as he hugged the small girl and kissed her on the head.
