Trying hard not to look at his watch for the fifth time in less than ten minutes Lex Luthor looks at the door to the Beanery and wonders for the dozenth time in less than half an hour who was the idiot that coined the phrase ‘you can’t hurry love.’

Not only did he want to hurry love, he wanted it to walk in that door, the one he was staring at as though it lead to the stairway to heaven a place he knew that he would never even see in this life or the next until a 16 year old angel saved him and showed him that heaven was a place on Earth.

Sighing and getting more and more frustrated by the minute he does not realize that he is scaring the anxious and at this moment unlucky waitress that has the station that he is sitting in. Since it is not his usual seat, Lex is further frustrated by the hard chair when his usual place is the set off comfortable sofas located in the rear of the establishment.

But the problem with that is simple, he can’t sit in the back, if he does, then he would miss when his sun entered the building and that would just not do, so here he is, sitting in a hard seat, waiting for what seems to him to be forever, nursing a cold cup of coffee, and he refuses to call the waitress over to him deeming it below him, and if she doesn’t come in the next minute he is going to buy the damn place just so he can fire her ass.

Looking at his watch again he notices that the minute hand has only moved three spaces, his coffee is still cold, that waitress has yet to approach him and Clark has yet to show.

Glaring over at the waitress that is hugging the coffee bar as though she is a Titanic victim who was thrown the last life vest and shooting furtive glances at Lex, she straightens up and moves over to him as though she was a marionette on a string that he was pulling slowly towards him.

As Casey makes her way over to a brooding Mr. Luthor she prays to all that is holy that Clark Kent quickly shows up. Everyone knew that when Clark was around ‘Mr. Luthor’ suddenly became ‘Lex’ and the storm clouds that were gathering over his head for the last half an hour would disappear.

Glancing at the clock that was above the Beanery door, Casey silently curses the sadistic Gods of Waitressing that she knows is somehow responsible for the fact the that is now after 3:30 and Clark has yet to show.

Looking at Mr. Luthor again, Casey realizes that he has noticed her tactic of walking as though she is a bridesmaid in a wedding party and hurries up her step. Walking quickly and gulping through a dry mouth and a rapidly beating heartbeat. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Casey is sure that Lex… I mean Mr. Luthor can not only hear her heartbeat considering how loud it is, but also see it pushing through her shirt how hard it is beating.

Opening her eyes and looking into the amused face of the man that is sitting in front of her. “Mr. Luthor, can I get you another cup?”

Lex had watched the waitress from when she reluctantly pushed herself off from the coffee bar and then looked at the door as though she expected her saviour to suddenly walk in and save her from him.

‘Probably wondering where Clark is?’ he thinks to himself. He figured out a long time ago that the citizens of Smallville were less wary around him when Clark was around than when he was by himself.

The Lex Luthor of six months ago would have been appalled to find out that he was being read so easy, or that so many people knew how and when he was amicable, but the Lex Luthor of today only wanted a hot cup of coffee, to chew his ‘finally reached my table’ waitress hide off, and for six feet plus of a gift to the Kansas population to walk through that door so that his sun could start shinning.

Glaring at the frightened waitress, “yes I could use another cup, I could have used one five minutes ago and one five minutes before that had you…”

“Lex.”

That simple word and suddenly the sun came in the building, Lex forgot all about the waitress he was addressing and Casey sent a prayer to heaven and a promise to go to church for the next three Sundays for the reprieve.

Smiling at Clark as though he had brought in a host of angels to watch over her, “Clark, what can I get you?”

Turning to look at Casey, Clark turns to smile at her, quickly letting the smile drop at the sound of a growl coming from the seated man. Shooting Lex an apologetic look, which placates the beast in him, but still leaves it lurking behind his eyes, “Whatever Lex is having.”

Turning to look into the face she had hoped to make a quick escape from. Tapping her pencil on her pad in front of her to hide the slight trembling in her hands, “And you Mr. Luthor, the same?”

Smiling sardonically at the waitress that he has yet to forgive, but wanting her to be gone more than he wished to scare her, “Yes, and hot this time, and don’t forget about the intervals for refills.”

Casey quickly bobs her head up and down and makes a hasty retreat before Mr. Luthor changes his mind and starts in on her like he was about to do when Clark walked into the building.

Taking a quick look around and seeing no more than usual watching them, Clark takes Lex’s hands into his own and slowly rubs circles into it until he has Lex’s full attention. “Being mean to the help again Lex.”

Smiling ruefully, “Not really.”

Raising an eyebrow. “Lexxx…”

Pouting a little, “Well what do you expect, she gives me cold coffee… twice, and then you’re late …. and why is that?”

“I had to help Chloe with the Torch, but no changing the subject here,” Clark admonishes him.

“Lex, you’ve got to lighten up, show these people the real you, the one you let me see, and then they will love you the way I do.”

Lex smirks at that one. Face flaming as though he was thrust into intense heat, “Well maybe not as I do, but better than they do now.”

Covering Clarks’ hand with his own. “I’ll try, how about that?”

Sitting back with a self-satisfied smile on his face. “Good,” pointing to the waitress coming towards them who is still so obviously shaken up given that the cups that she’s holding are wobbling and hot liquid is about to slosh on her hands.

Getting up out of his seat and heading towards Casey, “you can start by apologizing to Casey for whatever…”

“But I didn’t…”

“Lexx.”

“Okay.” Mumbling to himself on how could he have gotten in this position in the first place. ‘If Jason and Heph could see him now, they wouldn’t believe it, Lex Luthor cow towing to a 17 year old. The same Lex Luthor who never made a good Sub, was always inclined to be a Dom and raised hell on six out of seven continents, I’m a sap.’

Looking at the smiling Adonis that was coaching the still wary waitress that was approaching the table cautiously, the way one would the first time they entered a zoo and made their way to the Lion’s cage, part knowing that the great beast was contained and could not touch you, but the other part that has a healthy respect for the beast, who is cognizant of the horrible wrath that lies within and the damage it is capable of, but still willing to get close enough, just within arms reach but keeping all escape routes open and in sight.

Smiling wolfishly at the waitress as she comes near to the table, he shows teeth which has her backing up a bit and looking nervously at Clark giving him a betrayed look. Lex notices the look and closes his eyes to slits, which causes the girl to grab onto Clark arms so suddenly, that he stops quickly and some of the coffee spills onto his hands.

Clark narrows his eyes at Lex, and then absentmindedly says “Ouch,” more for Casey’s benefit than for either his or Lex’s since they both know that he did not feel the scalding coffee.

Casey looks at Clark confused, notices the wet mark on his hand and goes to apologize, just as she is about to open her mouth, she looks at Lex, who is looking at her as though he determining whether or not to bring back the Inquisitions Torture Chamber and shoots another betrayed look at Clark.

Through clenched teeth, “I thought you were my friend Clark.”

Still staring at Lex, silently sending him a message of ‘behave,’ to which Lex gives him a ‘who me’ look and relaxes in his chair, reaching out to take his coffee from Clark.

“I am your friend Casey,” a frown appears on his forehead, “why would you think I’m not.”

Trying to discreetly point at Lex, without him knowing, which is hard considering that he is watching the two of them through half closed eyes while sipping coffee that Casey is sure would burn her insides but he is drinking it as though it is lukewarm tea.

“You said that he had something to say to me and that it was not that bad.” Nodding her head at Lex, “look at him Clark, he wants to eat me alive.”

Staring at Lex that is grinning maddenly at the waitress, Clark mouthes ‘behave’ and turns back to Casey. “Believe you me Casey, you’re the last thing he wants to eat.” at the insulted look and growing anger that is replacing the frightened look of a minute ago, “ I mean that he wouldn’t want to eat you….” As Casey continues to pointedly stare at him without a chain hin her expression, “ I mean that Lex, Lex wouldn’t…”

Noticing that the teen is blushing ten different shades of red Casey is determined to let him off the hook although the devil on her back is urging her to ask Clark exactly why Lex wouldn’t eat her and how would Clark know what Lex would eat? Casey looks at Lex and Save Hide 101 takes precedence.

Placing a hand on the teens’ arm, Casey pats it gently, “I know what you meant Clark.”

Smiling gratefully at the waitress that has given him a way out Clark remembers the topic at hand. “Come on over, I promise you that everything will be alright, Lex just has something to say to you.”

Lookat Cat Clark the way martyrs must have looked before they were executed for placing their belief in something that they know one day may cause them their life but still they do it. Casey takes a deep breath, and starts to remind the Gods of her belief in all that is good and the fact that she volunteers at homehomeless shelter and she has three strays at home that are depending on her for their livelihood so it would not be fair to them if somehow she became unable to take care of them, not to mention the fact that she dumped the jerk when she found out that he was married and she never stole from the register or let her friends slip food out the Beanery without paying and that she didn’t wear suggestive clothes, or smoked or drinked and she never told lies…. well big ones at least, and she called her mother twice a week and babysat her nieces and nephews once a month so that their parents could have a weekend to themselves.

Smiling to herself that the Gods were reminded of what a good and noble person she was and the fact that she was kind and considerate to others, and just for good measure, please don’t forget that I read to the elderly on the weekends and volunteer at the soup kitchen every other Saturday.

Cocooned in the safety of her good deeds Casey brightens up considerably, lets go of Clarks’ arm, smiles encouragingly at Clark when he gives her a perplexed look, looks straight at Lex, smiles drops off her face as she realizes that the Gods have remembered that one time that she and Lil Johnny, well he is Big Johnny now, but he was little Johnny then, she just knows that they are punishing her for the time the two of them ducked Sunday School to play ‘Husband & Wife’ behind the church.

It comes out like a squeak, “Mr. Luthor.”

Deadpanned. “Casey.”

Shooting Lex another ‘behave’ look. Clark smiles encouraging at Casey, takes his seat and kicks Lex under the table, not hard enough to hurt, but hard enough to let him know that he was serious.

Shooting Clark an irritated glare, Lex looks at Casey. “I apologize for my earlier behaviour, it was to say the least inexcusable and will never happen again.

Casey looks at Lex as though he was a sitting Buddha that suddenly sprouted four horns, three tails and was wagging a forked tongue at her while rubbing his belly and was willing to grant her three wishes. Looking around Lex as though he was a doppelganger and wanting so bad to shout out ‘Will The Real Lex Luthor Please Stand Up.’ Casey takes a quick glimpse at Clark who is looking at Lex as though he just delivered the speech that will lead to world peace, shakes her head and decides that she had just entered the Twilight Zone, and says, “That’s okay Mr. Luthor, no need to apologize.”

A sudden silence envelops the three people as Casey looks fondly over to where Judy and Marcus are quietly laughing their asses off at her predicament and wishing so badly that she could leave to go over and give her friend’s the piece of her mind that she wished she could give Mr. Luthor but knew she wouldn’t even if she could have.

Smiling and giving Clark a ‘see, I can be good’ look, Lex forgets all about the waitress until the nervous tapping of her foot causes him to look at her again.

“You’re still here?”

“”Lexx.”

“Sorry, is there something I can do for you Casey?”

“No Mr. Luthor, I was just leaving.”

Giving her a ‘and you’re not gone yet’ look, Casey quickly smiles at Clark, makes a quick retreat and promises that the next time Big Johnny comes into the Beanery that he will get a little surprise for the hell that she just went through because of him. After all, it made no sense to blame herself, cause let’s face it “I’m pretty, and it’s all his fault.”

Forgetting about the waitress, Lex refocuses his attention back to his favourite subject. Clark Kent 2002. “So Mr. Kent, how was your day in school?”

Shrugging his shoulders. “Alright I guess. I have a Math and English Test tomorrow, and a paper that I know you will love helping me write due week after next Friday.”

“What’s it on?”

“Ancient Greek….” Clark pauses for dramatic effect, “Sexuality.”

Only hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on the finest education that money could buy and hundreds of lessons in dignity, decorum and socially acceptable behaviour stops Lex from spitting the contents of his mouth onto the person seated in front of him.

Swallowing quickly and taking deep breaths to cover the need to cough uncontrollably Lex studies Clark. “You’re kidding me right? Smallville one of the last towns this side of the pond that still adheres to some of the most ridiculous moralistic values actually is allowing that on its curriculum. Aren’t they afraid that ‘oh my god’ it may put unseemly thoughts into the minds of their pure as the driven snow offsprings?’

Grimacing slightly, “Lex I told you before, I don’t like it when you make fun of us, and in case you haven’t forgotten, I’m one of their offsprings and the last thing I am is ‘pure as the driven snow,’ you saw to that.”

Smiling apologetically, “Sorry baby, it’s just hard to believe that they allowed that on the curriculum.”

“No it isn’t,” Clark starts to explain, “you see our History professor wanted us to spice up Ancient Greek Civilization, so he said that we would study it in all of its aspect, from the Economical, Social, Political, Religious stand point and so forth. And Claire being the activist that she is stated that if we are to study Ancient Greeks properly then we had to focus on the Family Life and the way they viewed gender roles and sex.”

“Let’s just say that I thought I turned red when I blushed, but Mr. Peters looked so hot I swore he was one degree from his face catching afire. He tried to wiggle out of it by saying that an in-depth study in that direction was un-needed and Claire just flat out asked him if he was offended or made uncomfortable by alternate sexualities and did he realize how many teenagers died every year from the neglect and spread of intolerance in that arena.”

Sipping his coffee, “he was further backed into a corner when Chloe pulled out her Torch Pad and Recorder and asked, “So you have a problem with Alternative Sexual Practices Mr. Peters, the Torch wants to know?’

“It was at this pint that Mr. Peters took back control of the class by letting Chloe know that “No Ms. Sullivan, I am not bothered by ASP, and yes, Ms. Claire we will cover Ancient Greek Family Life and Sex…um…sex. um Sexual Practices.”

“But Mr. Peter being the stooge that he is broke the class up into groups and gave each group a section to research and write a paper on. And because we were guilty by association, me and Pete got put in the group with Chloe and Claire that has to write on Family Life and Gender Roles and just because I was born under an unlucky star I got the section in Gender Roles that dealt with Sexuality from the male aspect. Pete was lucky he got the one for the females and Chloe and Claire decided to deal with Family Life and Gender Roles as it applies to Family Life. So you see Lex, I really need your help here.”

Thanking the Stars again for his wonderful gift Lex lifts his leg under tabltable and slowly trails towards Clark’s crotch. Dropping his voice to a breathy whisper and filling his eyes with promise. “It will be my pleasure Clark,” he smiles as Clark let’s out a little gasp as his foot finds purchase between his thighs, “and yours I’m sure.”

Clark looks at Lex and wags his eyebrows. “Lex. BEHAVE.”
