Picking Up the Pieces

Back inside Catherine reached up to her friends shoulders and began to remove his jacket, “I’m sorry, Gil,” she told him honestly. He gave her a little half smile that was meant to tell her everything was all right, but it wavered slightly and she knew he was as scared as she was.
“Aw now ain’t that just the sweetest thing,” Larky said sarcasm ringing in his voice. “You’re in my way sweet cheeks, get behind him and do it from there.”
Catherine turned and glared at him. “And just how am I supposed to do it from back there?” she asked. She refused to show this man she was afraid of him, let her anger hit him not her fear.
“I don’t care how you do it, honey,” was his answer, “just make sure you do, ‘cause I want to be first to see the goodies he has in store for us.”
She sighed shaking her head at the man’s nerve. He was really enjoying this and was letting everyone know it. She walked behind Grissom taking a hold of the jacket collar and easing it off his shoulders. She felt him shiver and gripped his arms trying to give him some reassurance when there was none.
“Keep your eyes open, old man,” she heard Larky order, “they’re the mirrors to the soul and I want to see every part of you.”
‘The sick bastard,’ Catherine thought, it wasn’t bad enough that they were going to rape him but they weren’t even going to allow him to try and hide from it in anyway.
Grissom’s whole body tensed but he did as he was instructed. He would do anything to ensure that Catherine and Sara got out of this alive, but he wasn’t so sure he’d want to live when they were finished.
Having removed his jacket and shirt, Catherine reached around to undo the belt of Grissom’s pants. He jerked back from her fingers. Shuld uld feel him shaking and wondered how he was managing to conceal it, for she couldn’t see it.
“Hurry up, bitch!” one of their captors snarled. “Make her move. Larky this is taking far too long. Those bastards outside are gonna get in here long before we have any fun.”
Larky chuckled, shook his head and then answered, “You gotta point there dude, get a move on, Blondie,”
Against her better wishes Catherine did as she was told. She heard her captors take in a deep sigh as she bared Grissom to them. ‘They must be enjoying the sight,’ she thought to herself. It was one she hoped they wouldn’t have for long. But what the hell was Brass doing out there, why hadn’t help come by now?
Larky took a step forward and pulled Grissom toward him. “For an old man you look good enough to eat.” Grissom jumped when the younger man grabbed his genitals, he closed his eyes trying to hide the fear he knew was in them. “Uh ah ah, open them, bitch,” he was ordered.
The delight in his captor’s eyes made Grissom feel sick. Clearly this was not the first time he had done this, and he was intending to enjoy every bit of it.
Grabbing Grissom by the hair he spun him round and moved him toward some tables. “Jelko, Manny, bring that table over here, I need something to lean him against.” He looked at the man holding Sara. “Bring those two over here and line them up sitting on the floor where they can enjoy the show.” Then he changed his mind and a sneer grew over his face. “On second thoughts bring that little brunette here a minute.”
Sara was unceremoniously dragged over to where Grissom and Larky stood; Larky forced her down on her knees in front of the older man. “Before we have our fun I want to know everything he has is in working order.” He grinned at the shocked looks on the faces of his victims. “You’re gonna put on a little show for us now,” he told Sara, “use your mouth for something useful for a change.”
Sara sank back in horror. This was something she wouldn’t even do for her occasional men friends. She found it disgusting. But this was worse… this was Grissom. She would have to face him after this and she didn’t think she could. “No!” She exclaimed in shock, “I can’t…I won’t!”
Larky put his gun into Catherine’s mouth and cocked the trigger. “Would you like to rethink that?”
Catherine’s eyes widened in shock and fear. She didn’t want Sara to do what they asked. Didn’t want Grissom to have to suffer itheither, but she definitely didn’t want to die. Who would look after Lindsey?
All of this was running through Grissom and Sara’s minds as well. This was already a bad situation and it was just about to get worse. In hoarse frightened tones Grissom spoke up, “For God’s sake, Sara, just do it.”
As she moved in to perform as ordered, Sara saw the man take the gun away from Catherine and watched as the other woman fought not to fall in relief. Then shaking herself and without worrying what the men might do, Catherine went and stood behind Grissom. She wasn’t going to let him fall if Sara was any good. She saw the reluctance and hesitation in the younger woman’s body language and suddenly realised that Sara had never done this before. “Like a Popsicle, Sara,” she muttered, “just treat it like a Popsicle.”
Sara head jerked up and she look at Catherine her eyes like a doe’s caught in a head light. Then she smiled and nodded her head.
Grissom gasped as the younger woman took hold of his shaft. It had been so long since he been with anyone and now for it to happen like this! He tried not to let his body move as she ran her tongue along the underside, clasping his hands behind his back not wanting to risk the temptation to touch Sara. Someone else’s hands held his and he looked over his shoulder at Catherine who smiled and squeezed them. “We got through mine,” she reminded him, “We’ll get through yours.”
He shook his head amazed. How could he have forgotten that Catherine had been on the receiving end of this sort of treatment herself? He had always blamed himself for being late that night but she had never blamed him. She felt he had saved her from being killed and his support through the aftermath had been what kept her sane.
Eddie had been gone by then and it had been just her and Lindsey. Gil had taken control of everything, from arranging for the sitter to stay with her daer ter till they got home to doing the rape kit and dealing with the police afterwards. He had been her rock and she would be nothing less for him.
It gave Grissom a little more confidence knowing Catherine would always be there. He knew that Sara would go through months of remorse filled guilt but he couldn’t deal with that. He just hoped Warrick or Nick would be there to help her. He knew he could trust the others in his team to pick up the pieces and help put everythinck tck together again, but the fact that Cath would be with him made all the difference.
His body began to tremble and he felt his shaft engorge, there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it’s response. Everything was out with his mental control, it was all just a matter of automatic response. “Just let it go, Gil,” Catherine crooned, “don’t fight it. You and Sara need this to be over with as soon as possible.”
She sensed him near his release it wouldn’t take much longer, for all that this was new to her, Sara was doing a first rate job. She saw his head slip back and knew his eyes had closed moments before he would come.
“Eyes open, honey,” Larky sang lust evident in his voice, “I wanna see all you got big boy and I can’t do that if you’re not looking at me now, can I?”
Grissom struggled to comply with the man’s orders but it was difficult. He just wanted to slip inside the moment and forget everything that was happening. Forget that this wasn’t his own choice, that it was Sara not Catherine who was attending to him. His eyes opened wide in astonishment at his own thought. Where had that come from? He knew he was attracted to her but he had never let his mind wander that way. She was his friend and he didn’t want to ruin the best friendship he had ever had in his life.
All such thoughts were washed away as his orgasm surged through him. He bit his bottom lip and gripped Catherine’s hands tightly to stop himself from crying out. His legs went weak and he would have fallen if not for Catherine standing behind him holding him up.
“Ah, now that was nice,” Larky smiled, “glad to see that age doesn’t affect the natural order of things.” He pulled Grissom away from the two women eliciting a cry of pain, for neither woman had released their grip on him.
“My turn,” the young man sneered lust burning in his eyes.
He dragged Grissom over to a table and pressed him down onto it. Then signalled for the other men to position the women exactly where he wanted them. “Jelko, stand behind them and make sure he’s looking at them all through this,” he ordered his companion. “After they gave us such a great show I think it’s only fair.”
A phone in the bar began to ring, ‘Finally,’ thought Catherine, ‘you took your own sweet time about it, Brass,’ she railed angrily.
“Someone answer that for me,” Larky smiled positioning himself behind the older man, “ I’m a little busy right now.”
‘No,’ thought Catherine, ‘that’s supposed to stop you! You’re supposed to answer that and leave him alone!’ her mind was screaming. Little did she know but Sara was thinking the exact same thing. She was sure the phone call would win Grissom a reprieve and she felt sick to her stomach that it hadn’t.
Manny smiled and walking over to the phone answered it. “Yeah, who’s this?” he turned to watch his friend enter the recumbent figure before him, saw the man’s body buck and strain to get away from the pain that was being caused him and then go completely still. “Brass you say, and what can we do for you?”
Grissom was totally oblivious to everything else that was going on around him except for the man on top of him. His initial reaction had been to fight and rage at him but then he remembered the speech he had been told to give to each new female CSI. The one that told them if they ever found themselves in this type of situation not to fight back, not to cry out, that was what their attacker would want. Men who raped got excited the more a victim fought and struggled, it made it so much more fun when they could finally dominate them. They were instructed to lie as still as possible and if they could make the experience a bore then there was the chance the attacker would get fed up and give up.
He wasn’t sure how realistic that speech was. He’d actually blushed when he’d had to give it to Sara when she’d joined them from San Francisco. Even though she’d been a CSI for years it was company policy that every new or transferring member of staff was given it before they were sent out into the field. He’d often wondered how Jim Brass had handled it, especially giving it to someone like Catherine who had been massively street wise when she had joined.
“Hey,” Manny shouted to the room at large, “some guy called Brass wasn’t to know what it will take for us to give up the hostages?”
The others just laughed. Then one of them stated, “Tell him $1 million dollars, a car to the nearest airport and a plane to what ever destination we want.” There was more laughing at that. “But tell him to take his time ‘cause we’re having ourselves some fun right now.”
Catherine shuddered, she knew that no matter what they asked for they wouldn’t get it. It was against company policy to give into hostage takers, this was just a stalling action until they could get the SWAT team in position. But they didn’t have time to stall, they were raping Grissom and there were four of them.
She heard Larky call out his release and she looked into Grissom’s eyes. All she could see was pain and despair and it almost broke her heart. She heard Sara give a muffled sob and rounded on her angrily, “If he can hold it together so can you,” she snapped quietly, “don’t bring him down with you, girl.”
Sara stared at Catherine shock evident on her face. It was clear she thought Catherine was some sort of hard-hearted bitch but she couldn’t have been more wrong. What Sara didn’t seem to realise was how hard it was to act like this but Catherine knew it was what Gil needed, any sign of emotion could push him over the edge and he was trying so hard to stay in control.
“Hey, Jelko, get your sorry ass over here and see if you can get some reaction out of this guy,” Larky ordered clearly displeased with how Grissom had responded to his attentions. “He’s lying here like he’s already dead!”
Jelko strutted over and pushed Larky out of the way putting his hand in the small of Grissom’s back to ensure the older man didn’t move from where he was. “You’ve no finesse Larky dude, it’s all about you.” Jelko giggled, “If you think I’m gonna put my dick in there after you’ve played about you’ve got another thing coming.” They both snorted at the pun. Looking down at the man in front of him, Jelko smiled. “Now I’m gonna try something a little different,” he assured his friend, “he’s lying there thinking let’s just get this over with once they’ve had their jollies they’ll leave me alone,” he winked at Sara and Catherine who both drew him angry looks, “but me I like a little participation so…”
He leant forward and inserted his index finger into the older man’s anus. “Wow he must be a virgin!” he exclaimed, “I think you were his first Larky ‘cause he still tight as a drum after your attentions.” This seemed to delight the other man. “Guess we’ll just have to show him a thing or two,” he saw the puzzled look on his friend’s face and smiled explaining, “you know that sometimes participation is mandatory?”
‘No!’ Catherine’s mind shrieked. She could tell that Sara didn’t have a clue what they were talking about and that Grissom was trying to block out everything about the room, ‘they can’t! That will kill him!’
Jelko knelt down and began to enjoy himself. He knew if he could find the older man’s prostate the guy would have no option but to join in and that was exactly what he wanted.
Grissom gasped as his attacker found that special little nub, he couldn’t believe the sensations that were beginning to spiral through his body. He felt his shaft begin to swell and engorge. This couldn’t be happening, he couldn’t be responding to anything they were doing! He wasn’t like that; he didn’t like men so how could his body betray him like that?
Tears formed in his eyes and dropped soundlessly to the table, his hands balled up into fists and he bit hard into his bottom lip. He felt his hips begin to buck and almost cried out in horror. The heat began to rush through his groin but that wasn’t all he could feel. The sensations spread, his heart began to race and every part of him started to tingle. ‘No!’ his mind shouted, ‘No this can’t be happening!’ He bit back a sob and refused to beg.
Closing his eyes he tried to blot out all that was going on but the man standing by Catherine and Sara saw him and suddenly he was pulled up by the hair, Larky staring into his tear stricken eyes. “What did we say about eyes?” he asked him sneering at the distress and horror in the older man’s eyes. God this was priceless.
Sara sat in utter horror and astonishment and watched as Grissom’s ejaculate hit the under side of the table and then the floor. She had been told before that this could be done but had never really believed that someone could be made to respond against their own will. Clearly she had been wrong for she could tell that this had not been an experience that Grissom had liked.
Grissom tried to crumple in on himself, he felt so ashamed. It was bad enough that they had used him, but for this to happen. He would never survive this, he didn’t care what Catherine said. Once this was all over there would be another CSI team sent in and they would find what he had done. Soon everyone would know and that would be the end of him.
“Hey, Manny,” Jelko called out, “your turn now.”
Catherine and Sara sat in utter silence and watched as the other members of the gang had their turn with their friend. The man looked completely destroyed by all that had happened and neither could think of anything to say to help him. Not only that, Catherine didn’t want to bring attention to how successful they had been with Grissom. Despite all his compliance with so-called company ruleshadnhadn’t been enough. She’d always known the rules wouldn’t work in real life but some pencil pusher had obviously thought differently, she just didn’t know how much faith Grissom had put in those damn regs.
When they had all had their turn Catherine had thought that it would be over that their captors would make their demands and Brass would get them out of there, but Larky decided to have one more piece of fun. Since Jelko had been the only one who had been able to get any reaction out of their main squeeze, Larky wanted to try that trick for himself. He picked up a candle from a near by table and walking back to Grissom inserted it.
He was enjoying himself when one of the other men approached him and whispered something in his ear. “What the fuck!” Larky exclaimed removing the candle and slamming it down on the table, breaking a small vase that had sat there through all this, “Can’t you lot do anything on your own? Block the windows if you think they’ve got a sniper for God sake!”
He then turned his attention back to the candle and Grissom. Just as he lifted it Catherine saw something on the blunt end catch the light and she let out a scream, “No don’t!”
Sara looked at the older woman in shock, what was going on? She hadn’t reacted like that when they had started earlier. As Larky inserted the candle Grissom screamed in agony, writhing on the table trying to reach round to his attacker. There was something sharp inside him tearing him to bits and he couldn’t get it out.
Larky looked at Catherine and then at the man in front of him. Those were definitely not the sounds he had expected to hear. He removed the candle and his eyes went wide at the amount of blood that flowed after it. “Shit!” he exclaimed. He had wanted to have plenty of fun with the man but they needed all three of the hostages’ ambulatory if they were going to get out of this in one piece.
Taz and the girl had been different, they had been object lessons to anyone who would try and screw around on him. Taz was supposed to have been his main squeeze until he’d found out the other man was cheating on him, and with a girl at that. He had been more than please to get the stupid slut all aroused and then cut his cock and balls off. It had been fun to watch the sleazy bastard die in agony though it had taken a lot longer than he had imagined. By the time they had killed the girl to stop her screaming the police had already been there.
Angry at his own stupidity Larky sprang to his feet and made his way over to Jelko at the window. As he reached him all hell broke loose.
Catherine caught the flash of light off of glass and grabbed at Sara. The man behind them tried to stop them from moving and managed to break Sara’s left wrist and Catherine’s nose in the struggle. Catherine slammed back against him in pain and then felt the new pain of a bullet in her shoulder. Sara grabbed her and flattened her to the floor lying on top of the older woman so no more harm could come to her.
When silence once again reigned the two women lifted their heads and looked around. All four of their captors were dead and the police led by Brass were forcing their way into the room. Catherine’s only concern was Gil Grissom; she raced to him and found Sara by her side. “His cell is over by the bar,” she told the younger woman, “call a damned ambulance now!” she exclaimed.
Brass rushed up to them and gasped as he saw the mess all three were in, “No need,” he assured them, “there’s one right outside the door.”
Twenty minutes later they had all been in the emergency room and six hours later Catherine had found herself sharing a room with an unconscious Gil Grissom, Brass and Sara by their bedsides.
“Hi there,” Sara greeted her, “Nick and Warrick are at the crime scene concluding the investigation,” she informed the older woman.
Brass chimed in, “With all the perps dead we don’t see any reason for any of the evidence they gather to see the light of day,” he smiled reassuringly.
Catherine breathed a sigh of relief, there was no way Warrick or Nick would let anyone know what had happened in there, other than Grissom had been attacked. With the case closed it would be no one else’s business.
She looked over at her colleague and friend, “How’s Gil doing?”
Sara smiled, “They had a bit of a battle getting near him at first,” she admitted, “but that’s the main reason you two are sharing a room. We figured if anyone could get him to do as the professionals requested it would be you.”
Catherine grinned; it was going to be difficult for Gil to let anyone touch him for a while, she knew that from experience, something Sara and Brass had no idea about. But she knew that in time things would get better and she intended to see that they did.
They all heard voices in the hall and looked up to see Warrick and Nick enter the room a harassed nurse behind them. “Look it’s okay,” Nick was reassuring the young woman, “we’re like family and we only want a few minutes.” He smiled his winning smile at her and she seemed to relent slightly. “I promise when we leave we’ll take the other two with us all right?” That seemed to settle things and the nurse walk off and left them.
“How is he?” Warrick asked.
“He’s tired, sore and trying to get some sleep,” Grissom answered groggily.
They all smiled. They knew things were going to be bad for a while but if Grissom could react like that then things would eventually get back to normal.
