No One Wants to Be With Me
"We are gonna keep you and my grandbaby nice and fat," my mom said precisely as she stood over the stove frying something.
"Ma, he's fat enough!" I shouted from my seat across the table from the fatty in question.
She shot an angry, narrow-eyed glare at me.
"No Mrs. Puckerman," Finn said with sort of a sad little smile working on his face. "I really have gained a lot of weight…"
"Call me Mom, sweetie," she insisted again. "And you're pregnant so you need to be fat."
I rolled my eyes. "No one who wants to be with me needs to be fat…" I grumbled under my breath.
"Yeah but I don't want to be with you," Finn said clearly. "I never did."
My mom squeaked nervously and yelped out, "Well boys you two have a precious baby to share now, so you don't necessarily have to be together but you have to work together! For the baby!"
Finn and I stared at my mother. Finn's eyes were drawn as wide as they could go.
"Ma," I said, "You're burning the food!"
"Ah haha!" she laughed nervously, whipping back around to the stove.
