Summary: River has a connection. A mental connection to three people in three different realities. Trance is a hyper-dimensional being called an Avatar. Alex is a half human/half vulcan who was raised to believe in expressing emotion and not holding anything in. And Anakin is a young man who could lose anything and everything with one decision.

NOTES: Alex's ears will look more like the elves from LoTR instead of like Spock's in the movie. When I first started writing this, I forgot the Star Wars X-Over. Anakin DOESN'T attack the temple, instead saves the children by getting Ione's help moving them to another reality, more specifically; Ione and Trance's reality. The woman seen with Ione in Ch. 1 is one of Trance's sisters, a fellow sun avatar.

Chapter One:
River, surprising everyone, asked Kaylee if she had some scraps to build something with. Though, not in so many words. When she first tried, it came out as riddles. But, with the help of Trance in her head, she struggled out the appropriate words. Mal asked why, but River directed the answer to Kaylee. She said, simply, that it was to find someone. That this person just lost everything. Friends, family, her home. Her home world had been destroyed.
Inara put her hand on River's shoulder, "Homeworld?"
River whispered her reply in Inara's ear, knowing the woman would understand. Which she did.
"How long will it take you to make it?" She asked, upon seeing River shrug, "which one is the closest to contact?"
"Trance," She replied.
Inara nodded, then tapped her chin. The two left the bridge, Kaylee in tow.
Zoe ended up coming along later on, following chatter to Inara's shuttle.
"What would it take for you to call her?" She heard Kaylee ask.
"Just call...her name," River cocked her head, "or tell her that," she said the next bit loudly, feeling Trance listening, "That Alex is in trouble!"
River felt Trance's attention peak. The sun avatar was listening. Now to make her appear.
They stopped at the nearest training house, River's wires and circuts and tools in a bag slung over her shoulder. She had ended up making friend with a few of the students; both male and female. They helped her build her little project with what they knew. They hunkered down in one of the big rooms, clearing a space in the floor so they wouldn't set anything on fire. Simon didn't quite like how quickly River took to 'total strangers', although Inara knew what he really meant. The headmistress of the training house set Simon straight, properly cowing the man.
When everyone walked into the room, River and the students were talking to a gold skinned woman with black hair and a blue toned male.
"How..how is Alex?" River stumbled.
Ione smiled at the girl's effort, "She's dealing, little one. Her home world had been destroyed, taking with it the closest thing to a mother figure she had."
River gasped, "Amanda?"
Ione nodded, a sad look on his blue toned face.
"How is...Spock...dealing?"
"Not nearly as 'good' as Alex."
