Chapter 2 - Meeting An Angel

Chapter 2 - Meeting An Angel

Angel lost the fight to remain standing and practically collapsed into his chair, his eyes never leaving Jack, who was slowly walking across the office towards him. “You died,” Angel whispered, his voice shaking.

Jack was confused for a moment, but then he remembered Kathy’s story, how Liam’s father had told the young man that Jack had been killed.

“My father… he told me you had been killed,” Angel explained, forcing himself to stand he moved toward Jack, walking slowly as if he was afraid that Jack would vanish. Jack instantly stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Angel, hugging the man tightly before freezing as he realized that he couldn’t feel his Liam’s heartbeat… and that he didn’t appear to need to breathe.

Angel paled and stepped away from Jack, his face twisted with sorrow. “Liam…” Jack whispered, staring at his former lover. “What happened to you? What… what are you?”

“I thought you were dead…” Angel whispered. “I went out looking for death and found a vampire, but she didn’t kill me,” Angel turned away from Jack, as if he believed that Jack would attack him. “She turned me.”

Jack paused for a moment to gather his thoughts. “Liam… I know that you saved Kathy. That alone tells me that something was different from the beginning…” Jack stepped forward and pressed his lips against the Irish Vampire, his arms wrapping around Angel’s shoulders as he poured all the grief he’d felt over Liam’s “death” into a kiss which could have melted glaciers.

When Jack pulled back from the kiss to catch his breath, Angel’s mind seemed to catch up with the situation… Jack was there, in front of him. Jack had a heart beat and needed to breathe. “Your not a vampire.”

Jack laughed softly. “I’m from the future… something happened to me. I can’t die. I’m immortal,” Jack smirked a the expression that appeared on Angel’s face. “I believe we both have some… catching up to do.”

Angel nodded slowly before moving back towards his desk, pressing a button on his phone. “Harmony, cancel my appointments. I don’t want to see anyone unless Wesley says it’s an apocalypse.”

Before Harmony could reply, Angel had motioned for Jack to follow him into a lift. The second the doors closed Jack had Angel up against the wall and their lips were pressed together as hands raced over bodies left untouched for far too long. “Jack…” Angel practically whimpered as the doors to the lift opened, revealing a small but comfortable apartment.

Jack was embarrassed to find that he squeaked when the vampire pushed him back onto a huge bed, the vampire’s hands tearing at Jack’s clothing as Jack struggled to do the same, hands and lips racing over newly exposed skin.

Angel shuddered as Jack’s lips moved down one side of his neck, leaving a trail of bruising love bites. As Jack’s hands traveled further south, Angel found himself struggling to keep hic vampiric face from emerging.

“Liam?” Jack whispered, forcing his lover to look him in the eyes. “What’s wrong?”

Angel closed his eyes and allowed his vampiric visage to emerge. As he opened his eyes he expected Jack to turn away or try to escape… only to be surprised when Jack’s hands gently caressed the ridges of his face.

“Don’t you dare hide from me,” Jack whispered, before he claimed Angel’s lips, his tongue darting out to explore his lover’s fangs. Angel purred as he felt Jack’s hands drift down his body and he didn’t fight when Jack flipped them over so that he was on top, staring down at his lover.

Angel cried out as Jack began to prepare him, the vampire’s eyes rolling back into his head as he held the immortal closer to him, feeling the warmth of the man’s skin and losing himself in the rhythm of Jack’s rapid heartbeat. Angel froze as Jack thrust home, the Irish Vampire’s fingers digging into Jack’s shoulders, his nails creating tiny crescent shaped wounds as the two struggled to control themselves. Angel was the first to lose patience, he thrust up against Jack, encouraging his lover to set a brutal pace, which soon had both men groaning in pleasure.

Jack stared down at Liam with half-closed eyes before he made a decision and pulled Angel up against his neck. “Drink,” he whispered and Liam instantly obeyed.

Angel bit down, moaning in pleasure as Jack’s blood hit his lips. The moment Angel started to drink Jack lost control and Angel quickly followed his lover… Jack fell to the side, almost boneless as Angel withdrew his fangs and gently licked at the wounds, which closed up under his ministrations. After doing this Angel curled up against the immortal man, purring as if he was some sort of giant cat.

“Liam?” Jack whispered as he ran a hand down his lover’s side. “Why are you CEO of Wolfram and Hart?”

“It’s a long story,” Angel sighed and pulled up the blankets up around the two of them before he started to explain. “In 1898 I was cursed by Gypsies. I killed the favorite daughter of the Kalderash Clan. The Gypsies gave me back my soul, for a hundred years I just wandered… but then I went to Sunnydale, and started fighting by the side of the current Slayer.”

“You were on the Hellmouth?!?” Jack practically squeaked, his eyes wide as Angel nodded.

“I had a… a relationship with her. It didn’t end well,” Angel shuddered slightly at the memory and was surprised that Jack actually moved closer and hugged him tighter. “I ran away… ended up in Los Angeles fighting the good fight.”

“Fighting demons and things that go bump in the night,” Jack laughed slightly as his eyes started to close and he nuzzled against his lover.

“Yes… my team was fighting Wolfram and Hart, when a common enemy destroyed their base in Los Angeles. They offered us control of the firm, and we accepted.”

“You’re trying to destroy them from within…” Jack realized. “That’s what I was doing, with Torchwood.”

“Tell me?” Angel whispered.

“Tomorrow… I may be immortal but I still need my sleep,” Jack laughed, Angel joining him before the two curled up against each other and fell into the world of dreams.
