Chapter Two
A Chance at Happiness

Chapter Two
Pairing- Tony/Maxxie
Maxxie’s head shot up so fast he had almost gotten whiplash. He starred at Tony hoping on all that was Holy that he did not imagine that.
Tony slowly opened his eyes, but the lights must have been off because he could not see anything. “Turn on the lights,” he said groggily.
Maxxie sat back and furrowed his eyebrows at Tony, “The lights are on. It’s four in the afternoon.”
Tony’s jaw went lax as he stared blankly around the room. When he found that he still could not see anything, he started to freak a bit. “Then why can’t I see anything, Maxxie?” He began to frantically grab for Maxxie and started to cry out when his desperate, searching hands found nothing but air and bed linens.
That snapped Maxxie out of his reverie and got him to stand up and lightly lay across Tony’s chest, wrapping his arms around him as best he could. As soon as Tony could feel Maxxie against him, keeping him safe, he threw his arms around Maxxie, sobbing aloud his relief, desperately clinging to his usual blue and black striped, long-sleeved shirt as if the moment he let go Maxxie would be gone and he would be back in the abyss.
Maxxie whispered sweet nothings into Tony’s ear, trying to calm him down so he could reach the button for the nurse and make sure Tony would be okay. It took about ten minutes before Tony was able to get his sobbing under control, but even then he would not release Maxxie.
After a while Maxxie told him that they needed to call in the doctors to tell about the blindness and call their friends. Tony tried to think of his fiends, but no one came to mind. “Maxxie, I don’t remember anyone but you, not even my parents.”
To say that Maxxie was shocked was an understatement, “How could you not remember your own parents, yet you remember me?”
Tony thought for a moment and stated simply, “Because I love you. I need you to survive. The entire time I was in that dark abyss, you were the only reason I had to try and find a way back. You were the only thing that made me want to fight back and not just take the easy way out and let go.”
Maxxie was rather speechless and touched. When he finally got his voice back he could not resist asking, “What about Michelle?”
Tony unseeing eyes looked confused as he tried to remember a ‘Michelle.’ “I don’t know any Michelle, I only know you, Maxxie. And I only know that I love you more than anything.”
Maxxie looked about to cry as he leaned down and placed a gentle chaste kiss on Tony’s lips. Soon that gentle kiss grew more passionate as they shared their first true kiss that was not forced or drunken.
That was how the doctor coming to check on Tony found them.
AN- I cannot believe that I wrote another chapter. I'm sorry the chapters were so short. I'll try better on the next chapter. I would really appreciate some reviews, even if they are full of criticism because I want you to tell me of any mistakes made in the story and how you want the story to go. Please review.
