Testing Phase
On return, Jamie is showing a flexible piece of foam to Adam.)
Jamie: Basically, we want a system which has the ability to respond to muscle tension. The two sensors (He touches either end of the foam) should misalign as we bend these pieces, and create a signal we can do something with.
Adam: So how do we test it?
(Scene change. Adam has a strip of foam on his forearm, and a baseball bat attatched to a bicycle wheel is in front of him)
Jamie: Just react normally. (He pushes the wheel, causing the bat to rotate towards Adam)
(Adam flinches and the wheel stops)
Adam: Wow, that is so cool! (He pushes the wheel, smacking himself in the face with the bat) OW!
Jamie: You need to flinch, or the wheel won’t stop.
Adam: OW! Dammit.
(Scene change. Grant is next to a harness system, which looks kind of like a swing.)
Grant: My original idea of attaching a piston engine to a human form turns out to not be so practical for a versatile system, so I’m trying to go with a rig that has lots of moving parts.
(Scene change. Torry is strapped into the harness, and Grant is holding a remote.)
Torry: Just don’t make it insert anything in me.
Grant: Considering I didn’t attach those parts yet, your odds are pretty good. (He moves a lever on the remote, and the harness rotates Torry around.)
Torry: (Now suspended horizontally) This is the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever done in my life.
(Scene change. Kari is holding a vibrator and a plastic hose)
Kari: Okay, first I have to find a way to get THIS (She holds up the plastic tube and squeezes it, making a clear lubricant come out), onto THIS (She waves the vibrator), and hopefully when I’m done I’ll be able to attach them to THAT (She gestures to a four foot tall tower with attachment slots). The reason I’m working alone is that since I’m going to be the one actually using the machine, I need to be the one to make the...uh...more delicate parts suitable for me.
(Scene change. Kari is pushing buttons on the tower, making the attachment slots move up and down, in and out.)
Kari: This is going to be sooo cool.
(Commercial break.
