Chapter 2
(The next morning Bogg woke up, he rubbed his eyes and looked down to see Olivia still sleeping. He gently got up and started to dress, He nudges Olivia and she wakes up. Olivia gets up and grabs her clothes and starts to get dress.)
Bogg: Good morning.
Olivia: Morning.
Bogg: About last night.
Olivia: Don't worry about it Bogg.
Bogg: I just don't want you to get the wrong idea.
Olivia: It was both of us who made it happen.
(Bogg finished getting dressed.)
Bogg: I'm gonna go check on Jeffrey.
Olivia: Not without the key you won't, so wait for me, I'm coming too.
(Bogg waited for Olivia to get dressed and they headed to the other room. Olivia carefully unlocked the door, she made sure she had a key too, incase they were seperated. Olivia opens the door slowly and they both step in quietly. Bogg is the first to notice Morgan and Jeffrey together. )
Olivia: I don't know if I like this.
Bogg: I'm sure there is an explanation.
Olivia: Yeah.
Bogg: Come on, we should let them sleep, how about we get some breakfast?
Olivia: Sure.
(Bogg and Olivia leave, they head to the restaurant next door.)
Bogg: I think I might need to have that talk with Jeffrey now.
Olivia: You mean the one your father had with you?
Bogg: Yeah.
Olivia: Well I remember the talk my mother had with me.
Olivia: I wonder if Morgan had another nightmare.
Bogg: Nightmare?
Olivia: Yeah, from when her parents were killed when she was 8 years old, she never really told me what happened to them, she has a hard time talking about it and I won't press her into it,until she's ready.
Bogg: So she's an orphan like Jeffrey.
Olivia: It must of been awful, she doesn't like to sleep, if she sleeps, the nightmares come, so she hardly ever sleeps and when she does sleep, it's usually when she's exausted, the only time the nightmares don't come is if she sleeps during the day.
Bogg: Poor Kid.
Olivia: I've witnessed a few of the nightmares and they are awful, I wake her up, before they get really bad.
Bogg: So you think that's what might of happened last night?
Olivia: Yeah.
(Bogg and Olivia sit down, Bogg picks up a menu)
Bogg: This sure beats eating beef jerky for breakfast.
(Olivia smiles)
Olivia: You're still eating that stuff?
Bogg: Yeah, it comes in handy when you're out in the field and don't have time to get something to eat, even
Jeffrey stopped complaining after awhile.
(The waitress comes over and Olivia orders her food, Bogg orders his and hands the waitress the menus.)
Bogg: I can't wait to taste the food here.
Olivia: Our last meal was in 1930, New York and it was something called a hotdog, it didn't taste too bad.
(Bogg smiles)
Bogg: Yeah the kid got me to eat them too, I can tell you, they taste really good with lots of mustard, catsup, relish and onions.
Olivia: Oh man that sounds gross, I only like it with mustard and catsup.
(Jeffrey wakes up, he looks down and notices Morgan still sleeping on her back, the feeling that was going down south had gone away, but something still stirred in him, he leaned in, took his finger brushing them against her face. he had never been this close to a girl alone in a bed. Jeffrey carefully climbs off the bed and starts to put his shoes on. Morgan wakes up and rubs her eyes, she notices Jeffrey sitting on the edge of the bed putting on his shoes.)
Morgan: Um what time is it?
(Jeffrey looks at the clock that's on the nightstand)
Jeffrey: 10 am.
(Morgan gets up and goes into the bathroom, she comes out a few minutes later refreshed.)
Morgan: I'm starving, we should go get some breakfast.
Jeffrey: Ok.
(Jeffrey doesn't mention what happened in the middle of night or the feeling he got that night laying next to her, he figures Morgan probably doesn't remember anything. Morgan and Jeffrey go to the place that's close to where they are staying. When they arrive Jeffrey sees Olivia and Bogg at a table.)
Jeffrey: There's Bogg and Olivia, come on.
(Jeffrey and Morgan walk to the table and sit down)
Bogg: Hi you two.
Olivia: We already ordered, when the waitress comes you can order from her.
Jeffrey: Thanks.
Morgan: So how was catching up?
Olivia: Fine.
Jeffrey: Anything we should know about?
Bogg: No, we were just catching up, it's been a while since we've last seen each other.
Morgan: I can just imagine.
(Morgan smirks)
(Olivia gives her one of those looks and Morgan giggles in her hand)
Bogg: So how was the show?
Jeffrey: It was really great, I was hoping we'd get to meet them after, but we didn't yet.
Morgan: They sound even better in person, then on a 45 or even an album.
Jeffrey: I liked the last song they played, "Mr. Postman".
Morgan: That was my favorite.
Jeffrey: I actually liked all of the songs, but I was hoping we could meet them before we left Liverpool.
Morgan: Maybe we can, if we play our cards right.
(The waitress comes with the food, she sets it down, Jeffrey and Morgan ordered their food, when the waitress leaves, Morgan snitches a few fries from Olivia's plate. Jeffrey snitched a few of Bogg's fries.)
Bogg: Hey.
Jeffrey: It's only a few fries.
Bogg: Yeah, but don't you like them with catsup?
(Bogg takes the bottle of catsup and pours some on the plate.)
(Jeffrey smiles)
Morgan: I do.
(Morgan dips some fries and then eats them, smiling. About an hour later, after they all had their fill, Morgan and Jeffrey left to see if they could meet The Beatles. Bogg and Olivia order beer for themselves and decided to stay for awhile and talk.)
Morgan: Excuse me, do you know if the Beatles are going to be back for another show?
Man: Yes, they are playing here until March 24th.
Jeffrey: Do you know where they are staying?
Man: Sure they are staying there.
(The man points to where they are staying)
Morgan: Thanks.
(Morgan and Jeffrey leave and head to where they are staying. They walk through the door and someone bumps into Morgan, knocking her down.)
Man: Excuse me are you ok?
(Morgan slowly gets up, she looks up to see Paul McCarthy.)
Morgan: I'm ok.
Paul: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to knock you down.
Morgan: It's ok, it happens alot.
Jeffrey: You're Paul McCarthy!
Paul: Yeah, do I know you?
Jeffrey: No, but I know you, I mean we were at the show last night when you were playing.
Morgan: It was really great.
Paul: Thanks.
Jeffrey: Do you think we could meet the others?
Paul: Why not.
(Paul closes the door and then heads back to their room. Morgan and Jeffery follow him, Paul opens the door and leads them in)
Paul: Got some fans here.
John: Hi there.
Stu: Hi.
George: Hi.
Morgan: I'm Morgan and this is Jeffrey, we were at the show last night and I just wanted to tell you that you did a great job and I totally loved the songs, expecially the last two.
Jeffrey: Yeah, you guys were great.
Paul: Thanks, it's nice to hear that.
John: Yeah.
Morgan: So where are you headed after here?
George: Hamburg, Germany.
Stu: We're hoping to hit it big.
Jeffrey: Don't worry you will, I mean with the sound you have, I'm sure it's gonna catch on really soon.
John: Well thanks kid.
Morgan: I have a feeling you guys are gonna be a hit. I hope you decide to come to America in a few years.
Paul: America, now that would be a sight wouldn't it?
(Jeffrey gives Morgan a look and Morgan then tells them)
Morgan: Your sound is unique and different, that's what makes you The Beatles.
Stu: Thanks kid.
George: Well we hate to make this short, but we got work to do, John and Paul are in the middle writing some new songs and we need to relax, we have another show tonight and we hope to see you there.
Morgan: Ok, it was nice meeting you.
Jeffrey: Yeah, it was nice talking to you.
(Morgan and Jeffrey leave)
Jeffrey: First rule of being a voyager is that you have to be careful what you say.
Morgan: I was only telling the truth.
Jeffrey: It doesn't matter, one wrong word and history can be altered.
Morgan: It's too bad Stu dies on April 10, 1962. A year after they play here.
Jeffrey: I know, he then gets replaced by Ringo Starr on August 18, 1962.
Morgan: Sometimes I hate being a voyager, knowing what I know sometimes.
Jeffrey: I know what you mean, but we got a job to do, but thank heavens we landed where there is a green light.
(Morgan and Jeffrey head back to one of the rooms. Morgan takes the key out of her pocket and unlocks the door, they walk in and Morgan closes the door.)
Morgan: I can't believe I met the Beatles.
Jeffrey: I know.
Morgan: That was a dream come true.
(Morgan sits on the bed, she takes off her shoes, she wiggles her toes and then places her shoes at the left side of the bed. Jeffrey watches her. Morgan tries to ignore the butterflies that she's having when Jeffrey sits next to her. Morgan went and laid on the bed on her back to try to stop the butterflies from coming back.)
Jeffrey: Morgan do you ever wonder what your life would of been if your parents hadn't died?
Morgan: All the time.
Morgan: Ever since they died, I don't like to sleep.
Jeffrey: Nightmares, I got them alot after my parents died.
Morgan: Yeah, they come when I sleep, but only at night, so I try to sleep during the day if I can.
Jeffrey: I know, you had one last night.
Morgan: I'm so imbarrassed.
Jeffrey: Don't be, you didn't hurt me, if that's what you mean.
Morgan: Olivia told me I don't remember them and well I only make her think that I don't remember them, it's usually the same one over and over, sometimes it changes alittle, sometimes they scare me. I hate to sleep.
Jeffrey: But everyone has to sleep sometime.
Morgan: Well I don't like to, but you're right, that's why I'm so glad that Olivia is with me, I feel safe with her.
Jeffrey: You can feel safe with me too.
Morgan: I do, and we only met.
(Jeffrey crawls on the bed where Morgan is laying and lays next to her on his side, he props his elbow down and looks into Morgan's eyes, he notices that the color of her eyes have changed from blue to blue/grey right before his eyes, he leanes in, takes his hand, he cups her face and kisses her gently. Morgan kisses him back, he breaks the kiss and looks down at her)
Jeffrey: I'm sorry.
Morgan: Don't be, it was nice.
Jeffrey: For some reason I get this weird feeling, every time I'm around you.
(Morgan takes Jeffrey's hand, she places it on her heart.)
Morgan: You mean right here?
Jeffrey: Yeah.
Morgan: So do I, Jeffrey what does it mean?
Jeffrey: I don't know, I was hoping you would know.
Morgan: I've never felt this way before, until I met you.
(Jeffrey's hand slips to Morgan's small left breast and he pulls back, his face turning read)
Jeffrey: Sorry.
Morgan: Morgan grabs Jeffrey's shirt gently, pulling him downward and kisses him, Jeffrey had watched Bogg kiss women and decided to try it himself with Morgan, Jeffrey broke the kiss and looked down at her.)
(Jeffrey smiles widely)
Jeffrey: I kinda watched Bogg when he would kiss a woman.
Morgan: It was nice, can we try it again?
(Jeffrey leans in and they kiss for a few minutes, this time his body is pressed against hers, he gets the feeling again and it's going south downward and then Morgan breaks the kiss. Jeffrey props his elbow on the bed again.)
Morgan: I think I know what it is.
Jeffrey: I know, butterflies right here.
(Jeffrey places her hand on his heart)
Morgan: My heart is racing too.
Jeffrey: I wonder if that's what Bogg feels when he kisses a woman.
Morgan: I watched alot of old romance movies on tv, so I never had time really to experience any of what I'm feeling right now. After my parents died I sort of kept to myself, I never cried, never showed emotion.
Jeffrey: I was lucky, it wasn't long after my parents died when Bogg showed up and I was traveling through time, helping him.
Morgan: I had only been at the foster home for about 5 months when Olivia showed up. One of the kids there, he like to play with matches and he was one of those kids who loved fires and he probably started the fire.
Jeffrey: I'm pretty sure the name for it is pyromaniac.
Morgan: Someone who likes fires or starts them, I think.
Jeffrey: Yeah.
Morgan: I woke up and smelled smoke, the fire had already spread. I was in the back bedroom, it was small and there was a window and I tried to open it, but I couldn't, I kept banging on it and pushing up on it, even though it was unlocked, it was probably painted shut, because I don't ever remember it being opened when I was there, the fire spread very quickly, the only reason it didn't spread to the bedroom, is because the door was shut, but the smoke was heavy and I heard a woman's voice, glass shattering and then blackness, but for some reason I felt like I was falling. When I woke up, the first thing I saw was this blond woman looking down at me. She told me that the doctor had been there and that I had inhaled alot of smoke and I was lucky to be alive, any longer in there and I would of been dead.. I didn't like being stuck in the bed while I recovered. It took about a week to recover and then when I was well, she was going to leave me there. We got in this really big fight and that's when I found out who she was, what she did, she yelled at me for losing her book and we argued some more. I told her that I could help, at first she was against it, but then the light was red on her omni, she explained what it was and at first it was hard to believe the possiblitly of time travel, but when I helped her, she changed her mind. I'm glad she did, because I didn't want to be stuck there, expecially that time.
(Jeffrey smiles)
Jeffrey: As they say in the movies, the rest is history.
Morgan: Yeah, but I have a confession to make.
Jeffrey: What is it?
Morgan: When we kissed, it was the first time ever for me.
Jeffrey: Really?
Morgan: Yeah, so I, wasn't sure if I was doing it ok.
Jeffrey: You're the first girl, I've ever kissed.
(Morgan smiles)
Jeffrey: You did fine, I was alittle worried at first myself.
(Morgan smiled and placed her hand over Jeffrey's, her hand was tiny, compared to Jeffrey's. Jeffrey took her hand and squeezed it. she sits up and Jeffrey sits next to her.)
Morgan: Jeffrey, if you didn't end up being a voyager, what did you want to do when you grew up?
Jeffrey: A history professor, like my dad, what about you?
Morgan: Well I would of probably been a grade school teacher, that's what my mother was, my dad was a principal at a high school and I would of gone there if I had gone to high school as planned.
(Morgan fought back the tears that wanted to come.)
Jeffrey: I miss them, I try not to think about them, but it doesn't always work.
Morgan: I know Jeffrey.
(Morgan squeezed his hand gently. Jeffrey was glad that Morgan understood what it was like to be an orphan, maybe that's why he had a connection with her in the first place.)
Jeffrey: I'm sorry Morgan, I didn't mean to upset you.
(Morgan let go of Jeffrey's hand so she could wipe away a tear that escaped from her left eye. She looked at her hand, that was the first tear she ever shed since her parent's death and it scared her.)
(Jeffrey wrapped his arm around Morgan's shoulders and hugged her gently. Morgan struggled to get out of his arms and then she relaxed. Morgan burst into tears and started to sob, Jeffrey held her close, he could feel the wet tears soaking his shirt, but he didn't care, he held her close, fighting back his own tears that were fighting to come. He fought them back. His heart was fluttering and he was getting warm again. He ignored it as he kept holding Morgan.
Jeffrey: Shh it's ok.
(Morgan lifted her head so she could look into Jeffrey's eyes)
Morgan: It was all my fault they died, all my fault!
(Jeffrey started to wipe the tears from Morgan's face with his fingers, he gently held her face in his hands, so that she was looking in his eyes)
Jeffrey: You don't mean that Morgan.
Morgan: But it is my fault that they died, if I had stopped my dad from driving in the storm, they would still be alive today.
Jeffrey: I doubt you would of been able to stop him.
Morgan: I should of tried to stop him, I should of took the keys and hid them, so they wouldn't of gone out that night and they would still be alive, instead of dead.
Jeffrey: Morgan, you have to stop blaming yourself.
(Jeffrey pulled her into a hug, wrapping his arms around her gently, Morgan let her cheek rest on his tear soaked shirt, she breathed deeply and closed her eyes. Jeffrey held her, the butterflies returning again. Morgan lifted her head and looked at Jeffrey. Jeffrey looked in her eyes, he kissed her. Morgan kissed him back. Jeffrey pushed Morgan onto her back, his body pressed against hers, something stirred in him. Morgan broke the kiss to look at him, she got these weird feelings, so she got up and laid on one the beds. Jeffrey followed her and laid next to her. Morgan laid on her side and wrapped her arm around his waist, she let her head rest on his chest. Meanwhile Olivia and Bogg are having an interesting conversation.)
Bogg: So, Jeffrey and I are staying until the 24th.
Olivia: We'll probably leave before you.
Olivia: Ok, but when should I have "that talk" with Morgan?
Bogg: As soon as you can.
Olivia: Right.
Bogg: I'll have "the talk" with Jeffrey as soon as I can.
Olivia: I never realize how much work it is when you're taking care of a kid.
Bogg: Well they're not kids anymore, they're teenagers.
Olivia: Morgan celebrated her 13th birthday a few weeks after I rescued her. I didn't even believe she was that old, I mean she looked so much younger and we got in this fight about it.
Bogg: I suppose she won?
Olivia: Yeah.
(Back with Morgan and Jeffrey. Morgan lifts her head off Jeffrey's chest and looks down at him. Jeffrey looks up at her)
Morgan: Jeffrey do you want to stay here or do you want to do some sight seeing?
Jeffrey: I'm not sure, what do you want to do?
Morgan: Well I'm sure I'm a mess, I probably look like frankenstien.
Jeffrey: No more like the daughter of frankenstien.
Morgan: Oh you!
(Morgan hits him with her fists, Jeffrey laughs as he pretends he's getting beat up, he sits up and grabs her wrists, he pins Morgan to the bed on her back and looks down at her)
Jeffrey: I was just kidding.
Morgan: Oh really?
Jeffrey: Yeah.
(Jeffrey leans in, her wrists still pinned to the bed and kisses her. Morgan kisses him back. Morgan's butterflies return as she suddenly feels warm. Jeffrey could feel something going down south and it scared him, he heard about it in school from the older boys, but he never experienced it, he never had time, because he was working traveling through time. Jeffrey let's go of her and sits up.)
(Meanwhile Bogg and Olivia leave the restaurant, they had been there for a long time. As they walk, they pass a bunch of stores. Something catches Olivia's eyes and she pulls Bogg into the store.)
Olivia: I want to get something for Morgan and I.
(Olivia walks to the necklaces, she is looking through them when she finds the perfect two. Necklaces that have a silver star on them.
Olivia: I was wondering if you do engraving here.
Girl: Yeah, it costs 50 cents for each name engraved.
Olivia: On this this star necklace, I would like the name Olivia on the front and then Morgan on the back and on the other one, put Morgan on the front and Olivia on the back.
Girl: That will be four dollars total with the necklaces.
(Olivia pulls out four dollar bills and hands them to the girl)
Olivia: How long will it take?
Girl: It should only take about a minute, since it's just names.
Olivia: Ok.
Bogg: I'm gonna look around, see if I can find something for Jeffrey.
Olivia: Ok, don't worry, I'll find you.
(Olivia stands by the counter as she waits, she looks at the stuff on the counter. Bogg looks around, he notices lots of strange things. He's not sure what to get Jeffrey, something he doesn't have to worry about losing when they travel. He finds a swiss army pocket knife and checks it out. He decides to get it for Jeffrey and walks to the counter)
Bogg: Found the perfect gift for Jeffrey.
(Bogg shows Olivia)
Olivia: I think he's gonna like it.
(Bogg pays for the knife as Olivia gets Morgan's necklace put in a small box, Olivia slips hers around her neck, they leave and head to back to where they are staying. Meanwhile back with Jeffrey and Morgan.)
Jeffrey: I'm sorry.
(Morgan sits up, she bends her knees so her elbows rest on her knees.)
Morgan: What for?
Jeffrey: Um, I'm not sure what to do, with how I'm feeling, I mean I keep getting this feeling and well I've heard the stories from the older boys, but since traveling with Bogg, I've never experienced it before..
Morgan: Well I don't either, I mean I've never been involved with the opposite sex before.
Jeffrey: Me neither, I'm kinda confused right now, I mean I want to act on how I feel, but..
Morgan: I know.
(Morgan gets up, she goes into the bathroom, about 2 minutes later she comes back out.)
Morgan: Come on, let's go sight seeing for awhile.
(Morgan and Jeffrey open the door and are surprised to see Olivia and Bogg coming in.)
Olivia: Good, you two are here.
(Olivia and Bogg come into the room. Olivia notices Morgan's eyes are alittle red, but she doesn't ask Morgan about it, she pulls out the tiny box.)
Olivia: I know you already had your birthday, but I was in a store when I saw it, I thought you might like it.
Morgan: Thanks.
(Morgan opens it up and pulls the necklace out, she notices it's engraved.)
Olivia: Turn it over.
(Morgan turns it over and notices Olivia's name on the back)
Olivia: I have one too, but your name is on the back of mine.
Morgan: I love it.
(Morgan slips it on and then runs to Olivia. Olivia kneels down and wraps her arms around Morgan and gives her a hug)
Morgan: Thank you, I'll never take it off, I promise Olivia.
Olivia: I'm glad you like it and Happy Belated Birthday Morgan.
Bogg: Which reminds me, here Jeffrey and Happy Birthday.
(Bogg holds out the swiss army knife)
Jeffrey: A swiss army knife!
Bogg: Might come in handy out in the field and besides you're 18, so...
Jeffrey: Thanks Bogg.
(Jeffrey hugs Bogg, Bogg hugs Jeffrey back)
Olivia: So what would you like to do Morgan while we are here?
Morgan: I don't know, what is there to do in Liverpool, besides watching the Beatles play?
Bogg: We could go sightseeing for awhile, grab some supper?
Jeffrey: Sounds good to me.
Morgan: Olivia?
Olivia: Ok, let's do it.
(They leave and go sightseeing. Some hours later they go to a restaurant and eat. That night while Morgan is laying in one of the beds, she has some questions for Olivia)
Morgan: Olivia, how do you know when and if you're in love?
Olivia: I guess it's time for "the talk".
(Morgan slips into the bed by the bathroom. Olivia lays in the one by the window.)
Olivia: Well it's not easy to explain.
Morgan: You don't have to give me "the talk", but I was just wondering about some stuff I'm feeling.
Olivia: For Jeffrey?
Morgan: How did you know?
Olivia: It wasn't hard to figure out.
Morgan: We've kissed, that's all, but for some reason, I get all warm and then I get these butterflies and my heart is racing.
Olivia: Well, the first time I kissed a boy I was 15 and I felt the same way you are feeling. It didn't last long though, because he ended up liking another girl, but after the kiss, I got more confident when more boys came later.
Morgan: I really like Jeffrey.
Olivia: I know and that's why you need to forget him, because the chances of you meeting him again in the same time zone is very slim, do you understand what I'm telling you?
Morgan: Yes.
Olivia: Why don't you try to get some sleep.
Morgan: Sure.
(It didn't take long for Olivia to fall asleep. Morgan closed her eyes and hoped that she wouldn't have any nightmares tonight. She was soon fast asleep.)
(Back with Bogg and Jeffrey)
Jeffrey: So how do you know what love is and what infatuation is?
Bogg: You like Morgan don't you.
Jeffrey: How'd you know?
Bogg: It wasn't hard to figure out. Face it kid, when it comes to romance, I know.
Jeffrey: You didn't answer my question.
Bogg: Right. Did you kiss her yet?
Jeffrey: Yes, we have kissed a few times, but that's all.
(Jeffrey didn't want to tell him about the feelings he was getting that had been heading downward, he felt embarrassed about it, since he heard the older boys talk about it and he hadn't had a chance to experience anything since becoming a voyager. Bogg sighed a relief)
Bogg: And that's all you should do, until you're older.
Jeffrey: Why?
Bogg: Because love hurts Jeffrey, expecially if you have to leave her, I doubt that you two will be seeing each other anytime soon. If you want we can leave a day before and before they wake up.
Jeffrey: No, I want to say good-bye.
Bogg: Jeffrey.
(Jeffrey lays down on the bed, he turns on his side, he has lots of thoughts running through his mind, he could hear Boggs steady breathing and it comforted him, being in the same room, Jeffrey slowly went to sleep.)
