Asking For It
Chapter 2: Asking For It
Well at least one person felt this story was worth leaving a rating on, and a good rating at that, thank you to that person.
Here we go again.
Lilly opened her locker, she was early as usual, her first class didn’t start for another ten minutes. That was when Chris came up to her, “Hey” he greeted.
Lilly spun around startled, she was about to say something but made a lightning quick scan of the area with her eyes, Miley was nowhere to be seen. After discovering that fact, Lilly quickly greeted back “Hi!”
“What’s up?” Chris asked.
“Oh, not much… You know, just… Recovering” Lilly said nervously.
“Recovering? From what?” Chris laughed.
“Um… the thing I had yesterday that I you know… Did” Lilly clumsily spat.
“Ah… So that’s why you just walked off yesterday?” The black haired boy asked.
“Yeah!” Lilly said with a huge smile, which quickly faded when she spotted Miley standing about twelve feet behind Chris.
The brunette was standing with her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised, silently asking Lilly what the hell she was doing.
Lilly took a small step back from Chris and her preppie demeanor was instantly replaced with one of severe paranoia. “Something wrong?” Chris asked politely.
Lilly took a second and looked over Chris’s shoulder at Miley, who shifted her head slightly, asking why she was still within a mile of the boy.
Lilly returned her eyes to Chris’s, “Eh… Nothing, I just thought I forgot something but I remembered I didn’t.”
Miley widened her eyes, she wasn’t expecting that. Lilly looked back at her again, who was Miley to say who she could and could not talk to? Much less flirt with and date.
Chris spoke again. “So, I was thinking, you doing anything Saturday?”
Lilly’s heart skipped a beat, she took a second to calm herself inside and answered “Nope, just gonna be sittin’ around.”
“I see, well I was thinking of checking out that new theme park in Palo Alto, wanna come along?”
“Sure!” Lilly quickly perked up.
“Awesome, I’ll pick you up around noon?”
“Sounds great!” Lilly responded excitedly. Chris nodded and walked away without noticing Miley.
The blond’s moment of triumph was short lived however as Miley shot her a death glare that said “You’re gonna get it this time.” The look alone was enough to send Lilly into a few seconds of terror.
The 16-year-old quickly recovered from her terror and decided that she would take whatever Miley was going to throw at her, if that’s what it was going to take for her to be happy, she was already scarred for life by what her so called ‘best friend’ had done to her, more of it wasn’t going to make much difference.
Seems Lilly has taken some initiative, but at what cost? Reviews make me write better…
