Sometimes Wilson got so frustrated he wanted to yell at him. He slowly became sure of it: House was playing with him, being the daily, normal House. A discussion now and then, quick talks on patients. Wilson didn’t know what to do, and didn’t want to make the first move, so he responded the normal way, too. Playing with House was way more dangerous than being played with by House. Everytime House left his office, he left Wilson in extreme confusion.
‘We believe it’s cancer. We need your specialist views on him.’
‘How many tumors did you say?’
‘Ten, at least. How long does he have?’
‘Has he been ill before?’
‘Hardly. Boring, huh.’
‘I’d say…half a year. But when you haven’t run all of the tests…’
‘Come on. What else could it be?’
‘That’s your job. Just run the test. I’m not going to tell you guys anything before that.’
Wilson rested his head on his arms and sat like that for about fifteen minutes. This had been the same guy that had told him he loved him. Why couldn’t he figure it out? Why couldn’t House be reasonable for once? Wilson sighed. He was completely cornered.
Whatever he told himself, he had to know.
