unceremoniously into the chair beside Connie's desk.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> "What's with Mike?" he asked
without preamble.
"What makes you think I
know?" she responded, her eyes on her computer screen.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She still caught the disgusted look he shot
her.
"Don't make me say it out
loud," he warned.
"Give me a hint," she
replied. He cocked an eyebrow.
"He's tense, he's jumpy, he
won't look at me, and he's barely speaking to me," he listed.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> "What's the problem?"
She glanced at him.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> "He had some kind of weird dream this
morning," she replied. "He
said it wasn't a nightmare, but … it definitely got to him."style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She typed a few more words.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> "I wonder what it was?"
