*Twisted Fate: Betrayal*

… Running through the halls,
Verity looks for the one person she can think of who will help her- Toby.

It’s impossible to think that everyone could have been so
blind to what had been happening to Elizabeth. In many ways, she’s so happy
that she went to see Elizabeth and caught her looking in the mirror- if she
hadn’t no one would know, even now.

“Toby!” Verity gasps as she spots
the dark blonde man talking with his friends.

“What’s wrong, Verity?” Sacha
asks concernedly, looking the young woman up and down to find what could be the
source of the emergency. She doesn’t hang out with Elizabeth anymore, so it
couldn’t be that- right? Unless she’d seen something?

Coming to stand closest to the
table, Verity meets Toby’s eyes seriously, “it’s Elizabeth, and she needs your
help.”

Sacha and Russ seem to both gasp
in unison, “What?!?”

“I thought you weren’t helping
her anymore, Verity?” Sacha gasps out angrily as she glares at the timid girl.

Russ, meanwhile, exclaims,
“Elizabeth! Why should Toby help her? If she’s gotten herself into another
mess, then she should have to get herself out of it! I’m sure that it’s her own
fault!”

Yet Toby remains silent and
Verity locks gazes with him once more, “please, Toby, she doesn’t know that I’m
here, but it’s really important!”

“What’s wrong?” Toby asks as he
stands.

Not responding, Verity begins to head for the exit,
intending to tell Toby what happened on the way…
