Summary: Kal fell in a crash of booming thunder and hisses of lightning but he was not the only being to fall from the heavens on that night. This takes place at around and about the beginning of Season Four.

Chapter One

Lex Luthor was a very happy young man at the moment. His top secret dig in Egypt that the entire world more than likely knew about had been a success and he was far too ecstatic to care that he was running a little late for his blood cleansing treatment. He had his artifact, his daddy was behind pretty black bars, and life was good.

Life would have been even better for the young Luthor heir if that stupid pang in his heart would just go the fuck away. Every time he thought he was over it a flash of beautiful green eyes and soft golden skin would come to mind. He would reach out in reverie to run his long pale fingers through that thick tussled black hair only to open his eyes and frown. He could still smell the rich earthy scent of his farmboy that was no longer there.

He had been so stupid to think that Clark would never discover that secret room that held everything mysterious about the beautiful green eyed enigma. He really, really hated his dad and was glad that the rotten bastard was in prison. The look of loss and betrayal in those hauntingly beautiful green eyes had torn him apart. The anger mixed with an even deeper sadness in that voice broke his heart. He had destroyed the only good thing he had ever had in his entire life, Clark’s love for him.

A single tear fell from the corner of an icy blue orb and he quickly wiped the salty loss away. He turned to look out the window to see his jet coming into view. The doctor was going to be pissed with him for running late once more. He gazed down at the statue in both his hands and smiled a little sadly. At least something had finally gone right for him.

Martha Kent was sitting in the little hospital chapel gazing at the cross that was hanging on the white plastered wall. Everything felt so sterile and hollow. She had never been much of a religious person. She was more spiritual than anything else. Ever since her baby fell from the sky in great plumes of fire, religion was the farthest thing from her mind. Clark had been the answer to her prayers but she had not been sure who did the answering.

Her baby was gone now and she had no idea what had happened since her husband Jonathan Kent had been discovered in the cave unconscious. The doctors tell her that he had fallen into a coma and might not ever wake up again.

Chloe Sullivan had been killed in a terrible explosion that was no accident that was for damn sure. When one crosses Lionel Luthor, they never escape his sting. She still had scars that would never heal.

She could still hear the explosion outside the farmhouse and she ran out to see symbols burned in the field by an unseen power. In her heart she knew that her baby was gone and her knees met the cold earth as she wept in terrible loss while the fires burned around her.

“Please,” she whispered in the shadows of the small chapel, “I’ll do anything to have my happy family back together again.”

She went to get up off the small pew when she hissed and quickly looked at her finger to see that something sharp had pricked her. Crimson red bubbled to the surface of the small prick and she stuck her finger in her mouth and walked out not seeing the tiny splinter sticking out from the edge of the pew glowing a deep ruby red color.

Lois was not happy and all the earth quaked with fear as she glared at the nurse with pure venom in her wide eyes, “Excuse me?”

“You heard me,” the exasperated nurse said not liking her smartass attitude one little bit, “You found him, you wait with him.”

“Look,” she seethed getting right in the smaller man’s face looking terrible ominous, “I don’t have time to baby sit lightning struck farmboys.”

“Well,” the nurse said and they both turned when they heard some whistles to see the young green eyed man standing in front of a cherub completely naked from where the blanket had fallen off him. The nurse looked at Lois who was rolling her eyes at the gawking faces of all the elderly women whose old eyes were wide with sweet rapture, “I’ll get your confused friend some clothes.”

“Hey,” she snapped but the man was already around the corner. She slapped a hand on her hip and decided to enjoy the golden view, “This is just perfect.”

“Would you please stop touching everything that catches those huge cow eyes,” Lois snapped at her green eyed friend irritably who was now spinning in circles in the doctor’s chair. He still had her red blanket on even though he had on some blue cotton pants along with a blue cotton shirt. For some odd reason she could not get him to take it off. She decided that it must give him some sense of comfort or safety.

She stomped her foot down and the chair came to a halt. He looked up at her with those big green eyes and quickly jumped up to play with an unused cotton swab he picked out of the glass jar on the counter. She was going to fucking strangle him before the doctor even got in here to see him.

“What’s that,” he asked heading towards the door only to stop when Lois got in his way.

“What’re you doing Green Eyes,” she asked looking up at him irritably.

“That noise,” he asked looking at her with those piercing eyes that made her feel like he was actually looking through her.

“What noise,” she asked while listening only to hear nothing that remotely sounded interesting while shaking off his eerie gaze.

“That noise,” he said moving to try and get around her only for her to put a hand on his hard chest.

“You’re not leaving this room,” she said only to gasp when she suddenly felt his hands on her hips and being lifted off her feet to be sat down out of his way.

She just stood there completely stunned as he darted out of the room with the red blanket snapping around his ankles as he ran to see what that noise was. How in the world did he just pick her up? It was as if she weighed nothing.

“How did I do that,” he asked himself as he walked in the direction the loud noise was coming from, “And whose crying?”

“Hey,” he heard that very loud and talkative female Lois yell and he stopped. Why did he stop?

“Where are you going,” she yelled while racing up to him only for him to take off again.

“Damn,” she hissed wondering how in the hell he was able to move like that. Perhaps that lightning fucked up his genes or something. Perhaps she needed to stop smoking.

Tears were still streaming down her eyes as Martha walked down the hall when she heard a very loud shout of, “Hey!”

She quickly picked up the pace wondering what was going on and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw a young woman grab her baby by the arm. Even more tears welled up in her eyes and she screamed at the top of her lungs, “Clark!”

The green eyed young man turned when he heard a female shout and saw a beautiful red headed motherly looking woman who had been making the crying noises he had heard running at him to quickly throw her arms around him in an embrace that felt very familiar in a way.

“Clark,” she cried as she squeezed him tightly as more tears fell from her eyes in joy and relief, “I was so worried!”

“Do I know you,” he asked looking down at the smaller figure in total confusion.

“It’s me,” she said looking up at her baby’s confused face, “Its Mom.”

“Excuse me,” a voice said and Martha turned to see a pretty young lady looking at her with a big smile on her face that looked kind of goofy, “Did you just say you’re his mother?”

“Yes,” Martha said with a very happy smile of relief.

“Excellent,” Lois said looking at the overgrown dummy then back at his mother, “I found him in a field where he was struck by lightning. You really should get him checked out. He picked me up like I weighted nothing. Plus, I really think the lightning fried his brain.”

“You are,” Martha asked taken back at how loud this young woman was.

“Lois,” she said extending her hand with a smile, “Lois Lane.”

“Thank you Lois,” Martha said holding onto her son who was now squeezing the blanket around him tightly, “But I really need to get him home.”

“Sure thing,” she said watching her lead Green Eyes err…Clark after her with the blanket flowing softly around his ankles.

“You,” a voice said from behind her and she spun around to see the obnoxious male nurse looking at her, “Where is he?”

“Oh,” Lois said pointing towards Martha and Clark who were waiting for the elevator, “Over there with his mother.”

“Ah,” the nurse said, “Martha Kent’s son.”

Lois nodded with a smile and then her face fell causing the nurse to take a step back, “Wait,” she hissed turning back to the elevator to see the doors to the elevator open, “Clark? You mean to tell me as in Clark Kent?”

“Looks like it,” the nurse said.

“Hey,” Lois screamed at the top of her lungs before taking off like a twister for Martha to quickly push her son who let out a yelp and stumbled into the elevator with her right behind him.

“Shit,” Lois hissed as she punched the closed doors and turned around with a feral snarl, “I’ll get you Green Eyes and my red blanket to!”
