Love' Pain and Joy

The coffee was brewing as Daniel walked into the debriefing room, all of his team knew of Danny and his coffee. Tealc the big Jaffa whose menacing look was only softened by the love and loyalty he bore for his team. Major Samantha Carter whose beauty belied what a truly aadversible warrior she was not to mention the worlds fore most brains in Astrophysics and Wormhole technology. Next came Colonel Jack O Neill 2 in command of the SGC. All were seated and waiting for the General. In came a typical jolly Grandfather figure, George Hammond form Texas was often underestimated by those who looked on appearances and both friend and foe alike got quite a shock when they realised that this man was first and foremost a trained soldier born to command and was a leader of men. When he spoke in that soft Texan drawl that he reserved for his loved ones it was hard to believe that this was a man who had killed and had ordered missions that had caused others to be killed. It was something that George Hammond had come to terms with and now was simply leading the finest and most elite bunch of people the USAF had to offer. He felt humbled.

George looked at his team and smiled he knew them all so well but this time he did not know how many would come back. He looked at Jack and Danny both without being aware of it were mirroring each others body position. Tealc as always sat where he could immediately see if there was any threat to any of them. Hammond was under no illusions that the Loyalty of the big Jaffa was first for O Neill then for him, but he was more than ok about that as he knew the Jaffa would die to protect any one of them

“Lets get Started Folk” Hammond stated” We have a situation and I need to know all about planet PX496. Perhaps Dr Jackson can tell us the facts?”

“Certainly Sir” Jackson rose to the screen and on his 3D Display of the planet began” We know that this is a protected planet from the Asguard Treaty, however it appears that there has been Jaffa activity nearby. Word came form A Torka operative who is in service to the System Lord YU.”

“Ah Torka I might have known it!” snapped Jack “no offence Carter”

“None Taken Sir” Carter sighed

“Can we get back to the topic Jack?” snapped Daniel

“Sure sure” was the surly reply from O Neill

“PX406 is a world rich in vegetation and wildlife It is nothing short of Paradise The heads of States have been gating there from The alpha site. The inhabitants are a beautiful but well educated race they live a fairly simple life and the Naquadia that hey do have is what is used to generate power on their planet. They have offered us a place to go and find personal peace and harmony but it would seem that they have been infiltrated by the NID and or a Gouald who are intent on taking this planet as their own. A high-ranking member of the NID is missing believed dead but since then it appears that he was a minor Gouald in the service of YU. He has already taken the life of The British ambassador and would have Killed Queen Elizabeth of UK if she had not been pushed by her guard through the gate. That Guard is now waiting to see us and with the Generals Permission I would like to play his testimony now for us all to see what we are up against.” Daniel sat down and played the video link

“Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen” a silky voice purred “ I think some of you may already have been acquainted with me” There was a look of utter disbelief all round as the speaker smiled.

“Jonas what the hell are you doing there” spluttered Sam

“Ditto” Jack whispered

“Explain yourself Son “George said calmly but with a dangerous undercurrent in his voice

“Sir I had to take this post as security reasons I am only here for another hour and then I shall be going back to my world via ship and rings but I cannot tell you too much other than that I have Joined the Torka. If you accept the mission I am the Torka you seek. I will explain more fully I have to go now and rendezvous with Jacob”

With that the link ceased

“Are these Torka all the same nothing is said except we are to gate our assess over to this planet to face what no one tells us any thing “ ranted Jack

“Perhaps if you gave others time to speak O Neill we can see if you are Correct” boomed Tealc

“Sir” Carter said looking at the General “Just what is our mission “

Your Mission SG1 is a two fold one locate Selmet locate the Gouald”

“What type of Force can we use sir” O Neill asked

“Use your discretion this is a peaceful planet we were invited to be friends not to bring our wars to their doorstep” You have a Go be ready in one hour, dismiss”

One hour later the team had gather at the ramp of the Stargate. General Hammond called out into the mike “SG1 you have a go. God Speed”

The four walked through the gate, the sight that met them was one that would stay with them for the rest of their lives. Scattered around the gate area were several brutally murdered bodies of women children and men but the sight that shocked then most was the dismembered and decapitated body of Jonas

Tealc walked around surveying the bodies his face showing no emotion, He turned to Carter and said “Samantha Carter, Jacob is not here,” with that he went to her and held her while she wept.

Daniel was kneeling by the head and body of Jonas and shaking his tears blinded him to anything else. Jack held him and led him a little away. Daniel buried his face into Jack’s neck “Shh ! now my love” muttered Jack as he rocked Daniel “Shh! Shh” crooning and placing soft tender kisses on his head. Daniel stopped crying but still clung to Jack as if his very life depended on it.
