Chapter One

Pretty Shiny
Flora Winters

I do not own anything from Buffy or Smallville.

Summary: Glory will do anything to get her hands on a shiny octagonal key. This key will allow her to open a portal so she can use Dawn's blood once more to try and get home. A certain alien just so happens to possess the item she is after. Can this God of the cornpatch stand in the way of an almighty pissed off Hellbitch while he falls madly in love with the man she is trapped in?

This is not a Clarkie the Vampire Slaying Alien or anything like that. This is a Buffy/Smallville crossover.

Chapter One

"Please," Clark Kent begged as he held Chloe Sullivan close trying to protect her from the freezing wind, "She's my friend."

The booming voice of Jor-El filled the massive Fortress of Solitude, "One life does not outweigh the lives of billions that are now in jeopardy because you would not obey me!"

Chloe started to turn blue as frost settled over her skin. She looked at Clark with her blue eyes begging him to help her. Clark held one of his best friends close trying to keep her warm, "I'll come back to you," he yelled, "Please let me get her help!"

"Very well," Jor-El said gently as the freezing wind vanished and a light snow began to fall, "But you must return to me before the yellow sun sets."

Clark nodded, "You have my word."

"Do not fail me again Kal-El," Jor-El warned, "Or the consequences with be great."

Chloe was shaking when Clark lifted her up in his arms, "I think you better get into super Clark mode."

"Super Clark," he asked.

"I know Clark," she said, "Just take me along for the ride this time."

He looked at her with worry and concern in his eyes and she whispered, "Go Clark."

The two of them were gone in a blur of speed and snow.

Lana Lang opened her eyes to slowly take in her surroundings. She could not believe that she was still alive. All she could remember was suddenly falling and then she let out a scream when she glanced over to see the body of the dead piolet next to her in the destroyed chopper.

She quickly undid her seatbelt and scrambled to get out of the craft. Her foot was stuck under the seat and she pulled until it was free. This was the last time she was ever going to wear heels in an emergency.

Her leg was stiff but nothing felt broken as she crawled across the ground in pain to look up and see a huge mound of dirt looming in front of her. She was confused and disoriented as hell. This was twice now these damn meteors have fallen from the sky to wreck her life and destroy her home.

She crawled up the mound to see what the hell it was to look in and see a huge metalic object that was glowing with a green light. She looked on in disbelief as the object opened and two people sat up.

Instinct kicked in and she got to her feet and jumped down from the mound for two people in strange clothes to be right in front of her. She looked at the man and woman and cried, "Please don't hurt me."

The man and woman both had green eyes and strange markings on their skin as the man asked, "Where is Kal-El?"

Lana shook her head, "I don't know what you're talking about."

The woman stepped foward and Lana cringed as a chopper flew overhead to distract her from Lana who took off running into the wheat field and threw herself down to hide.

The cop cars pulled to a stop and men jumped out and aimed guns at the two people telling them to freeze. The man and woman just looked at them and the man shot fire from his eyes making the chopper explode into flames.

The police opened fire and Lana watched in horror as the bullets just bounched off their skin as if they were plastic play toys. The woman shot fire from her eyes blowing up vehicle after vehicle which killed men from the blasts and heat alone. Lana could not believe her eyes as the cries fell silent.

Fire was burning all around them as the woman surveyed the area, "Where's the girl?"

"She's not important," the man said, "We must find Kal-El."

The woman nodded and the both of them vanished in a blur of speed leaving Lana to muffle her screams as she cried.

Lex Luthor crawled to his feet and rubbed the back of his pounding head. He really needed a big ass Asperin the size of a baseball. He leaned back against the cave wall and shouted, "Chloe!"

His voice echoed all around him as he took several steps foward to see he cellphone lying on the ground in the entrance where he saw a metalic altar. Lex picked up her cell and whispered, "Where are you Chloe?"

He pocketed the phone and walked up to the altar to touch it when he saw the octagonal key sticking out of a slot and he picked it up only to hear a swoosh of wind behind him. He spun around to see a man and woman wearing long black coats and sighed, "Everything is in order here officers."

"He has the key," the woman said and the man asked, "Are you Kal-El?"

"Who wants to know," Lex asked and the key flew out of his hand to land in the womans as he was suddenly lifted off his feet by the man who had his hand around his neck with his fingers digging into his flesh. The woman walked around him observing him when she saw the blood dripping from his neck. She looked at her partner, "This is not him," she said in disappointment, "Kal-El would not bleed."

The man threw Lex against the wall and both of them blurred by him and out of sight leaving him gasping for breath and thanking god he was still alive as he scrambled to his feet and ran out of the cave to his car.

Lois Lane saw the destroyed farmhouse and freaked the hell out when she saw their red truck still parked there. She parked her cousin's car and jumped out to run into the house hearing Mr. Kent screaming, "Martha!"

"Mr. Kent," Lois called, "Are you alright?"

"I can't find Martha," he cried, "Help me."

Lois ran over to him and started to lift stuff up to try and find Mrs. Kent. She was so scared. The Kent's were so kind to her and gave her a roof over her head, and now one of them was hurt or worse.

Tears were falling from her eyes as she lifted up a piece of wood to see a hand sticking out. She quickly cried out, "Here, she's over here!"

Jonathan scrambled over to her and quickly helped her lift the huge book case off her and Jonathan saw her laying there covered in blood and not moving.

"Martha," he said gently and looked at Lois, "Will you help me get her out of here?"

Lois could not believe he had even asked her that, "Of course I will Mr. Kent."

Lex was speeding down the highway coming very close to hitting a freaked out and shocked Lana. She just stood there in the road as he slammed on his breaks and got out. She quickly turned around and started to limp away as he followed, "Lana, what happend?"

"Their still out there," she moaned in pain trying to get away, "They'll kill us if they find us."

"Its ok," Lex said trying to calm her down, "You're safe now."

He just stood there and watched her still limping away from him, "Lana you need to get off that leg," he said, "I'll call a doctor."

"You don't understand," she cried, "We're not safe here."

Lex grabbed her and she screamed and began to fight him, "Don't touch me!"

He held her tight, "Lana you're in shock," he cried, "Its over!"

She kept shaking and fought him to get away as he said, "The meteor shower stopped."

Lana stopped fighting him and just moaned as he held her and then she said frightened, "There's a man and woman right behind us."

Lex suddenly thought about the man and woman he had encountered in the cave as she said, "They came out of a," and then hesitated.

"Out of a what," he asked turning her around to look at her, "What did they come out of?"

Lana took a few deep breaths blinking back the blood that was dripping into her eye and looked up at him, "A spaceship."

He put his hands on both sides of her face and asked, "Where?"

She looked this way and that as if trying to find a quick exit, "Lander's field."

"Lana," he said gently trying to keep her calm, "After what you've been through its perfectly normal for your mind to play tricks on you, trust me."

She hissed and pushed him away with surprising strengh as her eyes glowed violet, "No Lex," she yelled, "You trust me! I know what I saw!"

He sees her glowing eyes and knows shes pissed as hell and she moved around him, "We have to get as far away as possible."

Lex turned, "Lana," and watched her try to get to his car only for her glowing eyes to roll up in her head to pass out on the pavement with a thump.

**********************************************************************************************

A nurse checked Chloe'e stats and she said, "Thank you," and the nurse smiled while walking past Clark who was standing in front of a red window looking at her.

Chloe looked at him and squinted her eyes, "I wonder who is more freaked out right now? Me knowing that I am in a hospital where they get their medicine by dog sled, or you finally figuring out that I know about your secret?"

Clark felt afraid and did not know really what to say. He looked at her, "How long have you known?"

She looked up at the ceiling, "I guess I have always had my suspicions," she said, "The quick exits, the miraculous recoveries, the lame excuses, but I think it was when I saw you catch a car like it was a beachball."

He did not know what to say so she finished, "That kind of confirmed everything."

He moved from the red window and walked over to look out at the snow covered peeks in the distance, "Why didn't you say anything?"

She shook her head while looking at his back, "I figured if you wanted to tell me you were part of the superpowered persuasion you would when you were ready," she said, "On your terms, not mine."

She watched his back adn he felt so guilty from keeping this from his best friend. He tugged at his blue shirt a little because he was nervous, "You're a good friend Chloe."

She sighed, "Obviously not good enough."

Tears formed in his eyes, "There was so many times I wanted to tell you."

"Clark I don't blame you," she said hearing the tears in his voice, "Loose lips sink ships and god knows I've sunked my share of them."

Clark kept looking out the window and Chloe asked, "Does anyone else know?"

He turned around shaking his head, "No."

"I'll never tell anyone Clark," she told him, "It will never leave my lips, not matter what."

"I appreciate that," he said and Chloe smiled and then squinted her eyes, "There's still a few blank spots though. Like, how does one get beamed from the Kawatche caves to the North Pole, and what the hell was going on in the forty story igloo?"

Clark walked over and sat down in a chair next to her, "Well, Chloe, there are a lot of things about me even I don't understand."

Chloe just looked at him and Clark decided she might as know everything, "The meteor rocks didn't make me who I am."

Chloe raised an eyebrow, "So you were born this way?"

Clark leaned foward, "I wasn't born anywhere near Smallville," he said, "In fact I wasn't born anywhere near this galaxy."

Chloe started laughing and then sat up in her bed, "Ok," and then she got serious, "So, that would make you an alien?"

"Yeah," Clark said softly, terrified his best friend would turn on him, spit at him, try to hurt him, tell the world his big dark secret.

"But," she said looking him over, "You look so..."

"Human," Clark offered and saw the look she was giving him and it scared the hell out of him and he quickly said, "I'm still the same person Chloe."

She shook her head and Clark felt the tears fall from his eyes and she saw this and quickly said, "Clark, I, I think you're so amazing."

Clark looked at her adn then down at his hands to hide his tears which he knew she done seen, 'You save peoples lives and take zero credit for it," she said smiling, "You're more than just a hero to me, you're a superhero."

Clark snorted, "Chloe," only to be interupted, "I'm serious Clark. If humans were more like you the world would be a better place."

He looked up and smiled at he through his tears and she reached out and wiped them away. She smiled at him and then he turned his attention to the televison and she did the same. He got to his feet when he saw an image of a meteor striking the ground and quickly turned the volume up. An image showed his house and the red truck still parked out front with all their stuff still loaded.

He turned back to Chloe when he saw the truck, "They didn't get out," he said in horror, "My parents didn't get out."

"Smallville needs you more than I do Clark," Chloe told him, "Go."

He looked at her and she said more forcibley as her eyes glowed vioelt, "Go!"

He nodded and sped out fo the room causing her cup of juice to slide across her table and she grabbed it, "Sweet."

The sun was shining brightly in Lana's eyes when she opened them. She was hearing a strange noise and quickly sat up. She looked around and realized she was on the second floor of Lex's study and slowly got to her feet squinting in the harsh light.

She limped over to the balcony to look down adn see a man in the floor scratching something on it. Lana carefully made her way down the stairs becasue she was still in a lot fo pain. She walked over and asked, "Mr. Luthor?"

He gave no sighn that she heard him so she walked over to see that he was writing, no carving a giant 'G' in the floor with a corkscrew. Lana gasped when he suddenly reached otu and grabbed her wrist, "The disciples of Glorificus."

He looked up at her with glowy green eyes and she backed away in horror holding her wrist, "She must be stopped."

"Are you talking about the woman from the ship," she asked as Lional got to his feet, "Her vessel must be destroyed."

Lana gazed at his glowing green eyes, "The ship."

He repeated, "Her vessel must be destroyed."

*******************************************************************************************

The Smallville clinic was packed with citizens who were injured during the meteor shower. Jonathan was holding Martha's hand when she slowly came to. He kissed her hand, "I was so afraid I was going to lose you."

She smiled at him and looked for Clark only to see that he was not here, "Where's Clark?"

Jonathan shook his head, "I don't know sweetheart but he is a big boy. He knows how to take care of himself."

"Jonathan I," but she was cut off as Lois came in, "Mrs. Kent," she said, "I'm so glad you're ok."

Martha smiled, "Thank you sweetheart."

Lois teared up, "I was so scared Mrs. Kent when I saw your hand."

"Oh sweetie," Martha said gently, "I'm going to be fine."

"I know," Lois said wiping away the tears, "And I'm going to see that you stay that way."

Martha smiled and Jonathan squeezed her shoulder has a male nurse walked in to check on her. He smiled at each of them and picked up her chart, "Mrs. Kent, I'm Ben," he said, "I'll be taking care of you."

Jonathan nodded when Martha asked, "When can I go home Ben?"

"Just as soon as you," but he was cut off by an explosion out in the hall and people screaming.

Jonathan got to his feet and ran out of the room followed by Lois to see two people walking towards them in black trench coats. A big man asked them, "Where is Kal-El?"

Jonathan looked at him and the woman smiled, "You know him," she said, "I see it in your eyes."

"Look lady," Jonathan said only to be lifted off his feet by her.

Lois walked over, "Um, excuse me," she said, "Lets put the nice man down and discuss this civily."

The woman smiled and threw Jonathan against the wall and lifted Lois up in his place. Lois kicked her in the stomach only to hurt her foot as he gasped for breath. The woman released her when she heard, "Leave them alone!"

Both aliens turned to see Lana standing behind them, "Leave them alone and I'll take you to Kal-El."

The man and woman smiled and took her by the arms and led her gently from the hospital as the woman asked, "Where is he?"

"With your ship," she said.

The woman smiled at her partner, "Perfect."

Lois watched them go and gasped, "Lana."

************************************************************************************

Clark sped all the way into the house screaming, "Mom, dad!"

He looked around in horror at the destruction of his home to hear someone say, "They were taken to the hospital Clark."

He spun around to see Lex looking at him who asked, "Where have you been?"

"Mom and dad told me to get a head start," Clark told him.

"Funny," Lex said, "Where's your truck?"

"I got a ride," Clark said, "My truck was stuck in heavy traffic."

"Wow," Lex said, "That has got to be the worst lie yet Clark."

Clark shook his head, "I don't have time for this."

"It was you," Lex said, "That was down in that cave."

"What,' Clark asked.

"It was you in that bright light Clark," he said, "And then Chloe vanished with you."

"First of all Lex," Clark said, "Why were you and Chloe in the cave to begin with?"

Lex just looked at him and Clark continued, "Big rocks falling from the sky, make big boom, rocks fall, everybody dies?"

"What are you trying to say Clark," he asked looking around in total surprise that anyone could have survived this mess.

"That I'm not stupid enough to be in a cave for it to fall down around my ears," he told Lex walking out of the house, "But thank god your ok and where is Chloe?"

Lex just blinked, "Gone, vanished, with that light in the cave."

"Just great," Clark said, "You get her using her magic again and she goes and vanishes in a light you blame on me."

Wait," Lex said as Clark jumped in the red truck, "So you were no where near those caves."

Clark turned to glare at him from the window, "I was no where near those caves."

Lex just nodded and wondered what the hell was he going to tell Lana about Chloe. He was a dead man.

****************************************************************************************

Clark ran into Lois at the hospital who stopped him in his tracks. Her voice was harsh like she tried to swallow a can of nails, "You're parents are fine Clark."

"Whoa," he said, "I did not know you had such a lovely singing voice Lois."

"Very funny Skippy," she croaked, "Commando Barbie went all woop ass on me."

"Wait," he said, "What?"

She rolled her eyes, "Two people came in here. A man and a woman and just started to toss people all over the place screaming about a Kal-El. I don't even know what the hell a Kal-El is, anyway, they took Lana."

That stopped him. He turned and grabbed her by the shoulders, "Where did they take her?"

"Lander's field,' she said.

He let her go and she turned around, "What are you going to do," only to see that he was gone.

**************************************************************************************************

Lana really hoped that Mr. Luthor's plan would work. Get this Glorificus chic in the hole with her boyfriend and blow then and the ship straight to hell. It was simple. There was no way in hell it was going to work. She was going to fucking die.

She shook her head as they stood at the edge of the mound, "Where is he," the woman asked.

Lana was about to tell him when a fast speeding car pulled in. She let out a gap. Could her day get any worse?

Lex got out of his car with a gun, "Let her go!"

Lional stepped out of the bushes with glowing green eyes, "This is not the Evil One. This is a fucking insect compared to the power of the Evil One."

Lana was on the verge of tears as her eyes glowed violet and she blasted the two aliens to the ground and ran to Lex's side as Clark ran up. The two aliens stood up to just blast them all with fire when a large shadow passed over them roaring. Everyone of them looked up to see a creature only read about in myth.

Lex could not believe his eyes and Lional was trembling with fear. Clark was in awe at what he was seeing and Lana was more concerned about the two bitches from space.

Suddenly the dragon belched fire and Lex's car exploded in flames. Everyone just watched in astonishment as the dragon circled back around and landed behind the burning vehicle roaring at all of them. It was a real live dragon for god's sake. The two aliens were about to shoot their fire beams at it when they saw a blonde woman step from the back of the dragon. She had on a short red dress and six inch red heels. She stood there looking at all of them smiling gleefully, "Well pull my curls and call me sunshine," she said while putting a golden hand on a slender hip, "Real live aliens."

Lex could not help him self, "Who are you?"

"The Evil One," Lional shrieked.

"Hey," Glory snapped, "Watch the name calling you old rotting sack of meat!"

The two aliens stepped foward, "Where is Kal-El?"

Glory smiled and suddenly she was standing right behind them pecking each of them on the shoulder. They turned around and she lifted them off the ground by their necks and everyone else gasped as she asked, "Hey, do you think I could ride in your spaceship?"
