Surprises, surprises, surprises

We reach the Base Commander’s office and Jack knocks on the door. Entering, my jaw drops and I go numb.

“Empress! Majesty, I was not aware that you survived the Planet’s destruction!”

Now, I was a really good General, I mean really good. Not much escaped my attention and, well, Her Majesty’s habits of sneaking off at night were always a source of annoyance to me. So I got to really know what the lady looked like, no matter what guise. I was the one who dragged her back to the Palace after a night of boozing and well, let’s just say she had an appetite, not only for men, but whatever she could get her hands on. Nasty.

“I’m surprised, you always knew when I was making a run for it,” she said blandly.

I hate to admit it, but I had to blush. It was one of the only times my observation skills failed me, but I had bigger problems to worry about. In case she hadn’t noticed, the planet was blowing up spectacularly. Heck, if I had the time, I would have sat down on a rock with popcorn and a coke and enjoyed the fire works.

“Your Majesty grants me much honour, but I must admit, I am only human,” I say modestly.

See, I can talk fancy and modestly, just because my thoughts are rather risqué and I tend to swear and cuss quite often doesn’t mean that I can’t tone it down when the situation calls for it.

“We can only wonder…”

The little bitch! I saved her fucking life and this is the thanks I get?! No, “oh, sorry, your banishment was a complete mistake, forgive me,” or, “My gratitude for saving as many people, my life included, to you for your quick thinking.” The bloody little uppity bitch had the gall to go high and mighty on me! GRRRRR!

“I brought Jeni here to meet…Colonel Cameron Mitchell…is that right?” O’Neill broke into my thoughts. Good thing too, or I would have acted on those thoughts.

“That’s correct. Mitchell, this is Jeni Harbridge. She is posing as a British team member of SG1, however, you are, of course choosing your team,” the base commander leaned over his desk, “she is an off-world citizen and has offered a fresh outlook when needed.”

The man of question was sitting on the side. My heart did a double beat at the sight of this man, Short dark hair, piercing diamond blue eyes, chiselled features, nice lean body and man that honey was tall. I looked at him and noticed that I wasn’t the only one using this opportunity to check out some flesh. I nodded and moved over to shake his hand. Damn, that boy had a bloody good grip! This is the man of my dreams! My nirvana….whoa, girly, gets a grip, this is your commanding officer, and this is Earth, they don’t allow inter-work relationships, unlike my late home planet.

I nodded and moved back to my position. The Base Commander was blabbering on about housing arrangements for Earth’s new citizens. I tuned out, there was no way I was gonna go get involved with these people, not after they turned their backs on me without proper evidence. Nu-uh, I was gonna stick to my job (hopefully) and hang out with Jack and the others. I tuned back in when my name was said.

“Jeni, SG1 is going to be pulled to the back burner until Mitchell finalises his team, he has expressed a wish to keep the original team members and that include you, what do you say” he looked at me.

“I am agreeable to that, sir,” I could hardly keep my voice even with joy.

Keep the same team! This man was a piece of heaven. I could kiss the ground he walked on. He didn’t want to change anything. My day took a turn for the better. I decided then and there that Jack and I were gonna celebrate tonight. Me being out of action for a while meant that I could keep office hours and they were nothing to what I was used to so I could have a night out and still be good to go the next day.

“Alright. Have you been cleared yet, Jeni?”

“Yes sir, is there anything else?” I stood at attention.

“No, Dismissed.”

I nodded and Jack and I left the room. Once I was sure that we were out of earshot I let out a whoop and jumped into Jack’s arms. He laughed at my antics and set me back on my feet. Walking for a little longer, he finally let out the question.

“So what do you think?”

“He doesn’t want to change anything! Well, except you being my commanding officer, but I can’t get everything,” I gushed.

“I noticed you were eyeing him,” he grinned.

“You humans have stupid rules,” I pouted.

“Like that is gonna stop you.”

Laughing we left the base arm in arm.

Colonel Cameron Mitchell POV

Wow. That is all I can say about the beauty that just walked out that door. My hand itched to take her hair out and watch has her bright red hair with brown and white streaks cascade in waves over her shoulders. She was a real beauty, green eyes, pale complexion, small pert nose and those lips! Beautiful red, pouty, soft lips that begged to be kissed. She had a nice hour glass figure and legs that went forever. Now, I’m not usually a leg’s man, heck, Jeni was seriously not my type, but that woman could make even the most devout priest forget those vows of his. Hang on, Cam, this girl is ranking under you, you can’t think those thoughts! But, she doesn’t come from this world, there has got to be a loop hole there. Damn it man; don’t get your hopes up, just because you saw her looking you up and down doesn’t mean she was checking you out, especially when you saw that flair of interest before it was dampened. But you have to admit, you loved it when her eyes held joy unparalleled when she was told that you wanted the old team.

I stood up and took my leave. I wanted to get a quick look at the girl before she left the base. Practically running down the halls, I managed to catch up with them just to catch their last few words.

“…Noticed you were eyeing him…”

“You humans have stupid rules,” I heard her reply.

“Like that is gonna stop you.”

I watched as they laughed together and left the station like father and daughter. Made me feel a bit better. I knew now she liked me and wasn’t gonna let rules get in the way.
