The Return Home

One week later, everything had been prepared. Natalie was to wait at Mr. Monk's home. When he returned and saw Natalie, the suggested implanted by the hypnotist would activate, and he would forgot that Trudy had died. He would forget all the pain he currently felt. Most importantly, he would recognize Natalie as Trudy, the only person he felt completely comfortable with. The next morning, upon waking, he would forget about everything, even planning to be hypnotized. This is the part that Natalie hated. They would share something special, but he would never know, and she could never tell him. Not that Adrian ever said anything about what would happen; he was much to shy. Natalie knew what he needed, though, and she was more than happy to help the man she loved.

Natalie waited anxiously, though somewhat nervous. She had studied Trudy to prepare, and she just hoped she wouldn't goof up. The hypnotist said she didn't need to worry about the way she spoke or her body language. All that would be taken care of in Adrian's head. All that mattered was what she said and how she said it. If something did go wrong, however, the hypnotist told her the safety phrase, which would release Adrain's mind instantly. "Trudy died in a car bombing." It was rather blunt, Natalie thought, but the hypnotist said that was the very reason.

The door opened. Natalie stood and straightened her dress, one of Trudy's old ones that Monk had kept. "Well, her we go," she whispered to herself.

As Adrian opened the door, he realized he wasn't sure where he had been, or why he was going in his home. Being a man who remembers everything, this was somewhat disturbing for him. As he closed the door, he turned around, and there he saw Natalie. He twitched his head and blinked his eyes. In his mind, he saw Trudy, and all of a sudden, the disorientation was replaced by a strong sense of belonging. He was right where he was suppose to be, with the only woman he could ever love.

"Trudy? I didn't expect you to be home," he said as he walked toward her. As they met, he peaked her on the lips with the kiss she had been denied for so long.

Natalie smiled back at him, gazing into his eyes, knowing that he was looking back into someone else's. "Oh, should I leave then?" She said, matching Trudy's wit and humor.

"I wouldn't dream of it," he replied as he moved in for a deeper kiss. Adrian's arms wrapped around her. With a hand on the back of her head and another nearing her ass, Natalie gave in to the deep passionate kiss. For a man that hadn't kissed is so long, Adrian was amazing. She felt the love he felt; the sense of oneness. She almost wished she was Trudy, the one woman he would accept.

As the kiss subsided, Natalie said with their mouths still just inches apart. "You won't be doing any dreaming tonight, Mr. Monk."

Adrian twitched. "Mr. Monk? You've never called me that? The only person that calls me that is my assistant Natalie."

Inside, Natalie cringed, thinking she had put the entire plan in jeopardy, but she refrained from making visual response. She fell out of his arms. "Oh, well would you rather be with her?"

"Of course not. I was just . . " he stopped. "I'm sorry, Trudy. You can call me whatever you want." He said with another kiss.

"Thank you, detective," she said seductively. "Now, I think I have a case for you."
