On The Way To Heaven

Yvette looked up at Ashley, shielding her eyes from the sun.

Yvette- Hi... You are?...
Ash- Ashley

She sat down opposite of Yvette.

Ash- So you know Craig?
Yvette- Well yeah i guess...
Ash- Well i know him very well...
Yvette- I heard... I mean you are his ex...
Ash- And future girlfriend again.
Yvette- Yeah Spinner told me
Ash- Oh? So i mean... You arent interested in Craig right? Because its just... i really care about Craig and you seem nice and all i just... Dont want to lose him...
Yvette-................. no im not interested in Craig....

She hated lying.

Ash- Oh... Well thats great you know... i was just worried that you were and well... im sorry...
Yvette- No problem

She started to cough loudly. Ashley grabed the drink Craig had bought her and handed it to her.

Ashley- You ok?
Yvette- Yeah... um...
Ash- Ok well im going back to my table... nice meeting you.

She got up and walked away. Craig soon returned.

Craig- Sorry i took so long... Yvette?

He reached to her face making her look at him.

Craig- Whats wrong?
Yvette- Nothing... loser!

She got her bag and ran back towards the school and Craig followed laughing with her. When he had reached her and pulled her body too him a feeling of warmth ran though them. The bell rang.

Craig- Come on i'll walk you to debate.

He went to reach for her hand but stoped himself when he remembered Ashley and Spinner

Craig walked out of the school and sat on his car in the parking lot. Yvette soon walked out too with a smile on her face. Ashley and Paige pushed past her and went straight to Craig

Ash- Craig. Hey where you going?
Craig- Oh im... Taking Yvette home and then...
Ash- Then wanna come to my place??

Craig stood quietly. He had noticed Yvette had been stopped by Spinner and felt a surge of jealousy sweep him.

Craig- I... can't. Need to watch Angie...
Ashley- Oh well...

Craig was lying of course but Ashley didn't know it.

Ashley- Well how about tonight?
Craig- ... sure.

She smiled

Ash- Great well...

She turned and saw Yvette walking over and kissed Craigs cheeck and walked away.

Paige- We gatta get you ready for tonight. You get Craig to ask you out tonight and then we start on Spinner getting back with me... Newbie isn't getting our guys...
Ashley- ... right.

Craig- Come on slow pokey
Yvette- Sorry... Spinner...
Craig- Yeah

They got in his car and started driving as she told him how to get there.

Craig- Got it. So... You and Spin eh?
Yvette- Yeah well... I mean he seems like a sweetie and... So you know Ashley came up to talk to me today?
Craig- Really?
Yvette- Yeah well... I mean its no biggie... Yall are getting back together right?

Craig wanted to say no but

Craig- I guess... I mean yeah... How about you and Spinner... He told me he asked out on a date.
Yvette- Oh yeah well... I mean i can't go out with you right?

They awkwardly laughed

Craig- No i guess not...
Yvette- HERE!

He braked quickly and they laughed. He pulled into her driveway and got out with her.

Craig- Parents?
Yvette- Not going to be home till really later. They are doctors...
Craig- Oh. My dad was one too...
Yvette- Was?
Craig- He died.
Yvette- Oh. Im sorry...
Craig- No prob...
Yvette- Wanna come in?

Craig smiled

Craig- Ok...

Yvette opened the door and let Craig in

Craig- Wow this place is nice.
Yvette- Thanks. Let's go to my room though because I like it better

As soon as they got upstairs Craig was bombarded with Band posters. Posters of old actors like Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn and Gene Kelly. She had rows and rows of CDs on her walls and in the corner a drum set.

Craig- Your room rocks
Yvette- Thanks I try!

They laugh and sit on her bed while she kicks off her shoes and turns on her TV

Craig- Mind if i?
Yvette- No prob. Feel free

Craig took off his shoes and and rested back on the bed. Yvette sat next to him grabbing a pillow off the floor and put it behind her back

Craig- Man, im so tired. I hate gym. Can't wait till next year when im done with the requirement.
Yvette- Yeah... Next year
Craig- So are you calling Spin?...
Yvette- No not yet.

She flipped the channel to Turner Classic Movies

Yvette- OoOoOo... Gene Kelly...
Craig- Well lets watch it.

They watched tv quietly for a while. She turned to look at her. He watched her breathe gently.

Yvette- Mmm... Mind if i rest my head on your shoulder? Craig- ... No! of course not...

She did and closed her eyes. Craig did too and before they knew it they had passed out.

She woke up 1/2 an hour later with Craig lying next to her. She couldn't help but bring herself closer to him. He woke up and felt her cuddle near him. He wraped his arms around her making it seem as thoough he was doing it in his sleep. Her face was now very close to his, he could feel her breathe on his cheek.

They laid there for almost another 1/2 an hour pretending to be asleep till Craig saw the time and started to get up

Craig- Hey Vet...
Yvette- hmm?
Craig- ... I... Need to go...

Craig really didnt want to.

Yvette- Oh... Well i guess i'll call Spinner then... plan that date.

Craig wanted to tell her not to and Yvette wanted him to tell her no. But that wasn't going to happen.

Craig- Ok... Um... Where are my shoes?

As they headed down stairs and she opened the door she pulled off his jacket.

Yvette- Here...
Craig- No... keep it. Till the cold goes away.

She coughed and smiled

Yvette- Ok...

He hugged her and the looked at each other.

Craig- ... bye... tell... Spin I said hey...
