Chapter Two

Chapter Two

General Hammond stared completely at the two figures standing in front of the now closed Stargate. But, he quickly recovered and told O’Neill to bring them to the Conference Room.

O’Neill watched as Martouf wrapped an arm around Major Carter, the colonel already knew from looking at them that something had happened between them, the question was what, how, and why.

Conference Room:

General Hammond looked up as the rest of SG-1 walked in along with Major Carter and Martouf/Lantash. From what he could tell the two people who had come through the gate had a serious connection.

“Major Carter, it’s good to have you back, now exactly why were you not sent through the Stargate earlier?”

Samantha cast a glance behind her at Martouf who nodded his head. She turned back to the general before doing anything.

“Sir, what I’m about to say will more than likely come as a shock to all of you, especially the colonel…” Samantha pauses briefly before continuing. “General, Anubis attacked Ravenna three days after the Tok’ra found me, during the attack; I was injured beyond what humans could do…”

Pauses. “The Tok’ra tried their best and failed, I was also beyond their healing capabilities. I was blended, general, with one of their few Tok’ra symbiote’s. That was the main reason I wasn’t sent back to you on being found.”

Samantha stops there as a single tear started to drop; raising a hand she brushed it away and bowed her head slightly. Her eyes glowed slightly gold as her symbiote Ayanna took control.

Hammond looked at Samantha in shock as did the colonel and everyone else as well. Martouf moved only slightly to stand behind her, knowing already that Ayanna would only take control if she had to.

Ayanna raised a hand slightly before moving it behind her brushing it against Martouf’s. Her gaze moved quickly across the room before landing on the last female in the room, her eyes widened slightly, she recognized her as the former host of the Goa’uld Qetesh, but she said nothing. She moved her gaze quickly when she heard the Colonel.

“Exactly why should we tolerate Major Carter being a Tok’ra?”

Ayanna cast a glare in his direction, her own anger rising in her veins; however, she already knew that she could control it.

“She would be dead Colonel if she hadn’t been blended; the injuries that she sustained were far too severe for the Tok’ra to heal. It was beyond our own abilities.”

Ayanna paused as a single tear ran down her left cheek; she moved to raise her hand when Martouf brushed it away. Hammond could tell that the connection between them was something he could understand.
