A family meeting
Alice walks through the fall out shelter wiping things with an old rag as she moves about. Her face is very strained. In a room she has just passed from the Brady children are sitting in a circle. They are all holding five cards. "I am tired of playing Rummy!!!!" Bobby loudly complains. "I am too!!!" Cindy complains in agreement. Greg runs his hands through his thick curly hair. "Why don't you and Cindy get the Chutes and Ladders game." He suggests. Liking the idea both Bobby and Cindy jump to thier feet. As they were making thier way to the doorway Mr. Brady stepped into it.
"Children," Mr. Brady simply stated, "Family meeting." Whith that he turned around and walked out of the room. The Children looked around at eachother confused as to what to do. Marsha stood up and walked out of the room. Greg followed Marsha's example and left the room. The rest of the Brady bunch soon followed after.
"First of all, please wait untill after your mother and I are done explaining the situation before asking any questions, is that understood?" Everyone nodded. "Your mother and I have some good news and some bad news." Mr. Brady began after everyone (Alice too) got themselves situated in the biggest of the rooms in the fall out shelter. "It seems that we are the only known people to have gotten into a fall out shelter in time before the Z-virus got to America. The Z-virus makes it so that Men are unable to be Father's." He looks over at Mrs. Brady and she incourages him to go on with a nod. He sees the downcast look in everyone's eyes and clears his throat before he continues. "The good news is that none of us are effected by the virus." He gestures at the surrounding walls. "This is a very special fall out constructed by very smart people. It was built to protect people like us against what is now happening. As I said, Mrs. Brady, Alice, and I had a long discussion about this last night and we came up with two ideas. I will let Mrs. Brady to tell you the rest." Mrs. Brady coughed into her fist and then ran her hands over her lap smoothing her dress down. "We came up with these two ideas. One: We can wait untill it is safe to go back out into the world and live the rest of our lives in paradise untill we all die of old age. Or 2: We can save the human race. The thing is in order to save the human race we must do something that has never been morally exceptable. We must no longer be a family but a path through which the next generation must pass through." Mrs. Brady pauses, "Any questions?" All of the Children's hands fly up into the air.
Mrs. Brady points at Greg and he lowers his hand. "I think we all want to save the human race if we can, right gang?" They all agreed. "What we all want to know is, like, how." Mrs. Brady stared off into some invisable horizon when she answered the question. "We will all have to consider ourselves not related for this to work. Our relationships will be forever altered. There is only one way to save the human race. If any of you can think of anther way I would love to hear it." She pauses to see if anyone can think of anything. Nobody does. "The only way for the human race to survive is for the boys to impregnate us girls." "Cindy and Bobby will have to wait, of course, because they are too young. Alice will not be able to partisipate because she is too old to bare children...." Alice stands up and wags her finger at Mrs. Brady, "I may not be able to have children anymore but I sure can prepare Bobby and Cindy for when they come of age. I am not too old for that!!!!!!!!!!!"
