Chapter Two

In the weeks that followed Alessandra avoided Ronon as much as possible. Due to the fact that Dr. Carson asked her to help him with some human resreach she really didn't have to avoid Ronon because she stayed so busy she really didn't have a whole lot of time to spend around him. It was just before daybreak when she managed to
get a break. She walked into the messy hall to grab a quick bite to eat then she was going to her quaters to shower and get some sleep before she had to head out off world with John and his team. She grab a plate of eggs and her usual crispy bacon. She grab a glass of orange juice as she headed for the first empity table she saw. She was about to sit down when she heard her name being called. She turned and saw John, Teyla, and Ronon sitting a few tables down. She hesitated a while, but then went over to them.
"We thought maybe you were living in the lab." John teased as he scooted over a chair letting her sit beside him which was directly across from Ronon.
"Sorry Dr. Beckett needed me to go over some DNA samples he had of Lt. Ford." she sounded tired and John picked it up.
"Don't stress yourself too much." John said softly He more than anyone felt the lost of Aiden. They were close friends before he was attacked. He also knew that Alessandra was close to Aiden as well." It's enough that Ronon here is stressing you, but him I can take care of him."
"Careful Sheppard." Ronon warned as he raised an eyebrow at him
"Yeah he's a lot to handle." Alessandra didn't think of what she said until after the words left her mouth. By then it was too late so she let it go.
Ronon looked over at her without making any expression. It was enough to send a chil down her spine and bring up memories of their kiss.
"You look tired you should rest we leave in a few hours and you look like you've been up all night." Teyla said softly as she sensed tension in the room
"Yeah and I need a shower as well." she stated as she finished her food and excused herself from the table.
"Oh before we go off world you're to train a little while." John informed her softly
"Okay let me have at least two hours of sleep and I'll be ok." she said as she turned to leave
"Two hours isn't good enough if you want to be able to concentrate, but I'll take it today." John told her.
She left the mess hall and went to her quaters. She stripped off her work clothes and let them fall to the floor as she walked into the bathroom. She turned on the water letting it get hot for her as she took out a matching blue bar and panty set and layed it on her bed. Her room wasn't the biggest, but it wasn't all that small either. She had a deep purple and pink bed set of soft cotton and cool silk. Something she got from helping a wealthy village. The next thing she did was take out a soft blue nighty and laid it down on the bed next to the panties. She turned to go to the bathroom when suddenly the doors to her room flew open and her lights went out. Something knocked her to the ground causing the air to go out of her. The fighter in her took over dispite the fact that she was naked. She fought off her attacker and went for her door, but the attacker grabbed her foot. She kicked at it and hit them right in the face. She stood up again and felt a sharp pain on the side of her head just before she lost concsiousness.
"I'm not sure, but if you wait for her to wake up maybe she can tell you herself." Alessandra heard Dr. Beckett's vocie say to someone. Her eyes opened and she saw Rodney standing by her side and Dr. Beckett.
"What happened?" She mutter in a whisper that she didn't know if they could hear or not.
"Rodney found you unconcsious in your bed. You looked like you had been in a fight." Dr. Beckett said softly as he touched her forehead
"I feel like I've been in a fight." she whinced as sharp pain shot through her entire left side of her shoulder.
"Do, you remember what happened?" Rodney asked as he sat next to her bed side.
" I remember I laid my clothes out to wear after I took a shower." she paused " I turned to go to the shower, but my doors came open and someone knocked me down to the ground. We fought and I got in a lot of good hits until the grabbed something and hit me in the head with it." She looked over at Rodney" I was naked."
"You had clothes on when I found you." Rodney said softly
"What?" she questioned as she tried to think, but couldn't comprehend anything." I took my clothes off as soon as I walked inside my room. I didn't have any on when I fought my attacker." she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Are you sure?" Rodney asked concerned as John and Teyla walked in.
"Yes, I am" she answered him
"I'm going to run some more test on you and give you something for the pain." Dr. Beckett said as he walked away from them.
"Hey Rodney told us what happened." John said as he sat next to her on the bed" How you doing?" he took her hand in his.
"I'm sore as hell and confused." she answered softly" Does anyone know who it was?"
"No, but we are looking." Teyla answered" Whoever did this to you will not do it again."
"But not knowing who it was makes it harder to find them." she said softly" It was a man I know that for sure. Unless the woman was on some strength inducing drugs." she sat up and felt intense pain go through her entire body.
"Easy, easy." John soothed her as he moved and let her sit up carefully."I need you to heal fast so you can come check out some stuff."
"Yeah everyone needs me for something I just wished for once a hot guy would need me for something more than DNA or science stuff." she said as she felt the pain meds that Beckett gave her kick in.
"I need you for more than DNA and science stuff." a voice from the doorway said.
"Ronon don't play with me now." she said softly as she felt her self falling a sleep.
"I'd never play about this." he said as he walked up to the side of her bed.
She smiled softly at him as he touched her cheek with his hand.
"Um, I'm going to go take care of some stuff." Rodney said as he left them alone.
"Rodie thanks for saving me." Alessandra mutter
"No, problem you're my fav girl." he said as he left the room
"Ronon, now she's my favorite girl too so, don't try anything." John said warningly
"I'd never hurt her." Ronon said as he sat in a chair next to her bedside." And I'd kill anyone who did."
"That's what I was thinking." John said softly as he felt Teyla touch his arm indicating that she felt Ronon wanted to be left alone with Alessandra. Although he didn't like the idea of Ronon being so close to Alessandra at least it was Ronon and not someone he didn't trust so much. " I'm going to go we had a long day today, which you slept through. I'll be back in the morning to see you." he leaned down and kissed her forehead.
" Sleep well John." her voice was sing song as he walked out with Teyla" Don't take advantage of Teyla she's worried about me."
"Rest." Teyla said as she left.
"They like each other." she said to Ronon.
"Yes, they do." He sat next to her on her bed cuddleing up to her
"Yeah, take advantage of my drug induced state of mind it's the only time you'll get the truth out of me." she stated as she snuggled into him.
"Good now I can ge some answeres from you." he teased.
John watched them laugh together and the closeness between them.
"Colonal. I'm glad you're still here." he said as he saw John
"What's wrong?" he asked curiously
"This is the medical report on Alessandra." he said concerned" I thought you'd want to see it first."
"What does this mean?" he said as he looked at it.
"It means that she wasn't sexually assualted, but she does have brusies all over her from the fight and someone left her to slowly bleed to death. She was hit precisly in places that would cause enternal bleeding." he explained softly
"Did you stop it?" John asked concerned for her more now than before
"Yes, we were able to stop it." he confirmed
Before John could say anything Teyla came rushing in with Rodney who was carring Kate. Blood covered her nose and mouth and she was unconscious.
"Lay her down over there." Beckett said.
"What happened?" John asked
"I found her in my room laying face down on the bed." Rodney said" It was just like I found Alessandra in her own bed."
"Someone is here attacking women." John said as he went into millatary mode" That's it from this point on no female is to be left alone." He order as he hit his communitcation" This is Col. Sheppard I am here bye ordering that every female be escorted by a male and that gaurds be placed outside their quaters. Yes, that is an order."
"Ronon what's going on?" Alessandra asked as she sat up to look over him and saw blood everywhere on the floor." Oh my god there's blood!" she fell back against her pillows" I feel sick." She leaned over her side of the bed and threw up.
"It's okay their going to take of her." Ronon said as he held her hair back from her face." Here drink this." he handed her a glass of water.
"You don't have to stay." she said softly as she lay back down and he cuddled her again.
"You heard Sheppard no woman is to be left alone at anytime." he said as she snuggled into him.
"Good because I don't want to alone right now." sleep now took her over and she found herself fast asleep within Ronon Dex's arms.
Ronon his self did not sleep until sometime before the sun came up.
