Puddle Jumper Madness

Note: I recommend anyone reading the second chapter without reading the first, to go back and read Board Room Madness. IMO there is a crucial "cute" link that you will not properly comprehend if you do not follow the chronological order of the chapters. So please do read the first one......first (I soo suck!!) :-) lotsa love Tania

Puddle Jumper Madness:

"Oh GREAT we are stuck, and I bet you any money when we wake up our underwears will be over our heads!!"

John, Carson, Teyla and Aiden all slowly turned and stared at Rodney.

"Sir I promise you he had only one puff." Said Ford to the major.

"Well apparently lieutenant that is all it takes." Sighed John.

"OK Rodney my boy why don¡¦t you just sit over here." The capable doctor led the confused Rodney to one of the front seats of the jumper.

The A team had gated to a planet that was inhabited by natives who were a lot like the native American Indians. The only difference was the continuous smoke that came out of their ears.

Dr Beckett deduced it was some kind of evolutionary mechanism that helped them to metabolise lipids at a much quicker rate then normal. Kind of like burning off the fat literally!!

Not knowing what it would do to the human body at cellular level Beckett had severely warned the team not to take the smoke puffer the Indians were offering them.

What Beckett failed to realise was that not taking the offering was considered as a threat.

The team had spent most of the day ducking and weaving arrows in the bush.

They realised something was wrong with Rodney when he tried to catch one of the arrows with his mouth!

As usual Rodney was too busy looking at his Ancient doohickie to listen to Beckett. So now Dr Rodney McKay was flying higher then a kite!

"Damn it Rodney!!" John cried as he rushed over to help Beckett lift McKay off the floor.

Instead of sitting down in the chair the stoned physicist thought it would be much more relaxing to walk smack BAM into the side door.

Ford and Teyla looked away and tried not to laugh at the site of Rodney spread eagle on the floor.

"FORD!" John bellowed. Ford and Teyla practically jumped on each other at the sound of the major's voice.

"Help Carson will you."

"Yes sir." Answered Ford promptly.

"I am going to get us out of here." Mumbled John as he walked over to the controls.

Ford helped Beckett with Rodney. Teyla ran to their aid when Rodney almost doubled over. Beckett could not believe it was taken 3 full grown beings to lift Rodney up. The man was flopping around like a blooming jelly fish!!

"DAMN IT!" John cried

"What?" Chorused the remaining people in the jumper that was not unconscious.

I can't get the controls.......the controls.......the controls to light up, stammered the frustrated major.

"Now how can that be?" Teyla asked as she walked over to him.

"Do you not posses the ancient gene that powers the jumpers?"

"I do Teyla, but for some reason the lady is not lighting up to my touch??" John sighed throwing his hands up in the air.

Realisation flashed across Teyla's face. She knew exactly what was wrong. John was too busy looking at the controls to notice.

Beckett and Ford propped Rodney up against the jumper door and walked over to John.

As the men debated over how to make the puddle jumper work. Teyla was running through a plan in her head

She knew they would be off this planet by sunrise

She knew that it was not a technical glitch

She knew that John was the key

She knew that she was the only one that could fix HIM.

She knew that she had to invite him.

She smiled to herself as everyone turned theirs heads to the THUMP of Rodney McKay hitting the floor.......again.
