The Doctor's Advice
After Book did two sets on the equipment, Jayne put the weights down and moved to Book's side. He put his hand on Book's thigh and moved it up slowly to his crotch.
Book put a hand over Jayne's hand and said, "Getting a bit friendly."
"Simon told me that no one was that naïve." Jayne blew in Book's ear.
"You told Simon that you've been flirting with me."
"He's the ship doctor. He's supposed to give advice." Jayne moved his hand away from Book's hand. "I want to lick the sweat off your body."
Book sat up and put on his shirt.
"Now, you blow me off."
"I couldn't act naïve anymore."
"What's your game?"
"treatreat me like a man. The captain and the others act like I'm holy. I'm just human flesh and weak."
Jayne put his hand on the man's face. "Handsome, are you weak enough to kiss me?"
"Not that weak."
Mal came in as Jayne was moving a finger down Book's cheek, chin and neck. "Take that to a cabin. We have children on board."
"She's eighteen and she ain't innocent." Jayne stated as he stood up.
"Well, I don't want to see it." Mal walked toward Jayne.
"You're just hot because Kaylee's dumped you since she got all swoony about the doctor," said Jayne. "Or is it she won't touch you because you're a married man?"
Mal swung but Jayne blocked the punch with an open hand.
"You better not try that," Jayne said, "or you will be on the other side of the air lock."
Mal stormed out of the cargo hold.
"Should we take it to your cabin?" Jayne sat on the bench beside Book.
"You confuse me."
"Would you rather talk about it?"
"The mighty Jayne wants to talk about his feelings."
"I want to talk about your feelings. You know my feelings."
"You're feeling me up."
"How do you feel about that? Do you want to hit me? Are afraid that if you ask me to stop, I won't speak to you?"
"You're the only person on this boat that I can talk to. Don't complicate things?"
Jayne touched Book's hand with his. "Me. I'm a simple man."
"What do you want?"
"An answer." Jayne moved a finger up Book's arm. "The silence is killing me."
After Jayne finished his workout, he went to the med bay to tell the doctor the news. Jayne wrapped his arms around the much smaller man and hugged him. "It worked. I put my hand on his thigh and he told me that he liked me."
Simon wiggled out of the large man's arm. "I liked you better when you were planning to sell me to the highest bidder."
"They weren't buying. They planned to kill me for bringing you there," Jayne said.
"Sorry. I was out of line. You can tell me what happened." Simon sat down.
"He told me he liked me. I figure that it's just a matter of days before we're knocking boots," Jayne said.
"I didn't tell you to touch his thigh. I just thought kissing would be too much."
"No matter. It worked," Jayne said before leaving, still grinning ear-to-ear.
